Own Peak German Performance Engineering: Mercedes-AMG Bla...

Get behind the wheel of an exclusive performance-focused machine. Fans of luxury cars, or specifically of Mercedes-Benz vehicles will know that AMG is the name given to high-performance variants of the historic brand’s staple luxury vehicles. With twin-turbocharged engines, sporty cosmetic features, enhanced aerodynamics, and more engaging driving character, a Mercedes-AMG vehicle is a great way for drivers to combine luxurious appointments with spirited performance. However, some fans will know that there’s a step above AMG in the world of Mercedes-Benz performance, and while it isn’t seen often, Black Series Mercedes-AMG vehicles add an extra level of performance panache. If you’re looking for an AMG model that’s even more powerful, dynamic, lightweight, and performance focused than AMG’s existing offerings, a Black Series Mercedes-AMG vehicle may be the car for you. What is a Black Series Mercedes? Black Series is a rare, limited variant of some Mercedes-AMG models that offers more focused performance, track-oriented weight savings, and more power. What Black Series Mercedes-AMG models are there? Mercedes-Benz created the SLK 55 AMG Black Series, The CLK 63 AMG Black Series, the SL 65 AMG Black Series, The SLS AMG Black Series, the C 63 AMG Black Series, and the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. What was the first Mercedes-AMG Black Series? The Black Series was started with the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Black Series. The V8-powered roadster became a closed coupe with sharpened performance compared to the standard car. Why was Black Series created? Black Series was created as an homage to AMG’s 1967 origins as a tuning house that groomed Mercedes-Benz vehicles for motorsport, hence the track-oriented focus of Black Series cars. What is the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One? Reservation holders of the racing-derived Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar were also given the opportunity to own a special version of Mercedes-AMG’s high-performance machine, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. The car, like the hypercar, features special details and an F1-inspired livery and graphics. What does a Mercedes Black Series cost? Due to their exclusivity and high performance, a Black Series Mercedes-AMG car for sale will likely cost much more than their “standard” AMG equivalent, especially considering their status as rare collector-worthy pieces. Concept Mercedes AMG PureSpeed: Expressives Konzeptfahrzeug gibt Ausblick auf erstes Modell der Mythos Serie Concept Mercedes AMG PureSpeed – expressive concept car gives a look at the first model in the Mythos series

Mercedes-Benz Launches Mythos With New Concept Mercedes-A...

The elusive Mythos series from Mercedes-Benz is starting to take shape. In 2022, Mercedes-Benz announced many of its long-term plans as a manufacturer, one of the most intriguing being the introduction of limited-production cars under the name Mythos. Little has been said about Mythos since then, but ahead of this year’s Monaco Grand Prix, one of the most exclusive events in the motorsport world, a significant step has been made towards bringing Mythos to fruition. Unveiled against the ultra-glamorous backdrop of Monaco as the Formula 1 racing weekend approaches, Mercedes-Benz revealed the new Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, which is a look at the first model that will be a part of the highly exclusive Mythos series from Mercedes-Benz. With a completely open barchetta design that lacks a roof and a windshield, the PureSpeed evokes timeless race car thrill and F1 inspiration, making pre-Grand Prix Monaco the perfect place for its unveiling. F1 cars and the radical Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar inspire the PureSpeed, with features like an F1-inspired HALO taking the place of an A-pillar and carbon fiber aerodiscs enhancing the aerodynamic qualities of the wheels. However, futurism and modern performance aren’t the only inspirations for the PureSpeed, with its design also taking cues from vehicles like the 300 SLR, which Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson drove to victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia in Italy. Its gradient paintwork, going from Le Mans Red to Graphite Grey and then to black, pays homage to the 1924 Targa Florio-winning Mercedes-Benz, dating the PureSpeed’s historical references back 100 years. Kicking off the highly-anticipated Mythos series of cars for Mercedes-Benz, the small series debut of the production version of the PureSpeed is set for next year. This will officially usher in a new era of Mercedes-Benz exclusivity, luxury, performance, and collector-car glory. View All Mercedes-Benzes For Sale Image Source: Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz Reveals The New 2025 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Ca...

Mercedes-AMG puts the top down on its newest creation. The new Mercedes-Benz CLE has been introduced to replace the C-Class and E-Class coupe and cabriolet models, and to fill those shoes, the historic luxury manufacturer created a sporty yet luxuriously elegant vehicle that combines practicality, everyday usability, plush comfort, and sporty character. However, AMG upped the ante with the introduction of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe, and now the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet is joining the mix. As the second open-top model in the current AMG lineup, the new Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 sits alongside the Mercedes-AMG SL, offering a spacious interior, an enjoyable top-down driving experience, and the amplified performance that any AMG model boasts. The new CL 53 Cabriolet sports a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that produces 443 horsepower and 413 lb/ft of torque, and it’s paired with a mild hybrid system capable of 32 horsepower and 151 lb/ft of torque. Standard AMG Performance 4MATIC+ means that power goes to all four wheels, and rear-axle steering also contributes to the sporty convertible’s dynamics. A wide, muscular design adds aggression to the otherwise elegant design of the CLE Cabriolet and features like large wheels and AMG’s signature vertical grille indicate its performance-oriented character. The soft top, which boasts features like AIRCAP, a wind deflector that helps maintain comfort and serenity while driving with the top down, and AIRSCARF, a neck-level heating and ventilation system that ensures comfort in cold weather, can open and close in as little as 20 seconds, with operation available at speeds up to 37 mph. The available colors for the soft top are black, gray, and red. With a new open-top AMG model in its lineup, Mercedes-Benz is preparing for warmer weather and exhilarating drives, and its new 2025 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet is ready to deliver open-air thrill and luxury. The new AMG Cabriolet is set to hit U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealerships at the second half of the year. View All Mercedes-Benz For Sale Image Source: Mercedes-Benz

$2.45 Million 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500K Listed For Sale

Enthusiasts know that preserving classic cars is a battle against time, a battle that only gets harder as more decades pass, and today more than ever before, pre-war vehicles are winning Concours awards and garnering high auction values and admiration worldwide because of how impressive their preservation is. This 89-year-old Mercedes-Benz 500K is certainly one of those vehicles, and it’s available for sale at Gullwing Motor Cars in Astoria, New York. View Price And Listing It’s available for an eye-watering price of $2.45 million, but it’s incredible story and beautiful preservation are reasons as to why. It was at the 1934 Berlin Motor Show where Mercedes-Benz first introduced the 500K, which featured 160 horsepower and an in-house Mercedes-Benz 'Sindelfingen' design in a time when it was more common to have a body coachbuilt by a third party on top of a frame. Over the 2-year production run of the 500K, which consisted of 342 cars, only 33 of those cars featured the desirable Cabriolet A body style, including this example, chassis 105379. The car was originally commissioned by Baron Silfverschiold of Gasevadholm, Sweden, with left-hand drive, a grey exterior color, and a dark red leather interior. The car would then change hands in 1950, 1963, 1983 when it moved from Sweden to West Germany, and in 2004 when it was moved to the Netherlands. Now, after being meticulously restored to its original factory specifications and fastidiously maintained, the car is available for sale again at Gullwing Motor Cars. With a beautiful specification, a globe-trotting story, and beautiful condition that evokes almost a century of history, saying this 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500K Cabriolet A for sale is a concours-worthy vehicle is a severe understatement. Mercedes-Benz Reveals The First-Ever Electric G-Wagon

The SUV legend finally goes electric… officially. It’s been teased for quite some time, but throughout that period, it’s remained quite a hot-button topic: the idea of an electric version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. As one of Mercedes-Benz’s longest-standing models, and one of the most prominent icons in the SUV world, celebrated for off-road capability, luxurious appointments, and unmistakable glamour and style, the G-Class isn’t something that Mercedes-Benz changes often.  For decades, the G-Class has remained a body-on-frame SUV with incredible off-road features, a more hot-blooded AMG variant, and head-turning glitz throughout. With the introduction of the first-ever electric G-Class, the G 580 with EQ Technology as it’s called, Mercedes-Benz hopes to introduce electrification while retaining the core principles of what makes the G-Class great: luxury, off-road ability, and style. Even the G-Roar, a feature that provides an acceleration sound that mimics the roar of the V8 many G-Wagon fans are used to, aims to faithfully retain the G-Class experience Mercedes-Benz lovers know and love. The most noticeable factor is that the iconic silhouette remains largely unchanged, accommodating optimized aerodynamics but retaining the decades-long favored G-Class look. Other things that remain unchanged compared to the combustion-powered G-Class include the ladder-frame design, with the 116-kWh high-voltage lithium-ion battery integrated into it for a lowered center of gravity, a solid rear axle, and (virtually) locking differentials via torque vectoring. Four individually controlled electric motors placed near each wheel drive the new electric G-Wagon (making it the first Mercedes-Benz with individual-wheel drive), combining to produce 579 horsepower and 859 lb/ft of torque. Rather than detract from the off-road capabilities of the legendary G-Class, this innovative drivetrain actually enhances them, opening the door for unprecedented ease in off-road driving. The virtually-locking differentials are operated automatically, while the motors also allow for maneuvers like the G-Turn on certain surfaces, the in-place spin that has already earned the electric Geländewagen notoriety before its official reveal. In addition to G-Turn, the arguably more functional G-Steering feature offers a shortened turning circle that uses the motors to turn the vehicle around the inside rear wheel with the touch of a button, making tricky situations a breeze. Other convenient features for traveling off the beaten path include the “Transparent Hood” camera function, as well as the “Offroad Cockpit” functionality, which makes the instrument and infotainment displays provide information readouts about the most relevant off-roading details when you need them. For those well-versed in non-tarmac driving, the new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology boasts important numbers like the ability to climb up to a 100% grade on certain surfaces, 9.8 inches of ground clearance within the wheelbase, 33.5 inches of wade depth, a 32-degree approach angle, a 30.7-degree departure angle, and a 20.3-degree breakover angle, coming together to show that an electric powertrain doesn’t detract from the G-Class’s hardy reputation as an off-roader. In addition, concerns about the battery being at the bottom of the vehicle are quelled by Mercedes-Benz’s use of a torsion-resistant casing for the battery pack, using a mix of innovative materials including carbon fiber. As impressive as the new electric G-Class’s off-road ability is, the question remains as to how it performs in a category that the rest of Mercedes-Benz’s lineup is known for: luxury. For starters, Nappa leather is standard, along with 64-color ambient lighting and climate-controlled cupholders. High-tech features include Augmented Reality for Navigation, a standard Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, and more. In addition, the expanded MANUFAKTUR range offers electric G-Class customers a wide range of personalization options for the new high-tech luxury SUV, including Catalana Beige/Black two-tone leather inside, which is available in the new G-Class for the first time. For the United States, the new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology is launching for the 2025 model year exclusively as an EDITION ONE variant, which features extra equipment like special blue accents, the AMG line and Night Package, and more. Pricing is yet to be announced for the new Mercedes-Benz G 580 with EQ Technology, but with it being the very first all-electric variant of the legendary G-Wagon, one of Mercedes-Benz’s top-of-the-line models, the expectation is for it to be high. However, it costs to have access to a vehicle that combines high-tech innovation with luxury, style, off-road prowess, and decades of legacy in the way the new electric G-Class does. Mercedes-AMG Reveals New 805HP GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE

A hybrid powertrain gives the new AMG GT flagship 805 horsepower. This weekend in the bustling city of Shanghai, excitement is building for an intense race as Formula 1 visits for the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix, and as the countdown continues for the race to start, Mercedes-AMG adds to the electricity in the atmosphere with the global reveal of a new high-performance creation: the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE. Following the lead of many of the recent peak-performance AMG models, the GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE uses a hybrid powertrain to increase power and performance. Specifically, that powertrain consists of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor on the rear axle, which combined provide the grand tourer with an immense 805 horsepower, as well as 1,047 lb/ft of torque. That results in a blisteringly quick 0-60 time of just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 199 mph. Power is sent to all four wheels via the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ system, which along with rear-axle steering ensures excellent traction and dynamism, with the electric motor able to send power to the front wheels for added traction in the event of rear-axle slip, or provide extra boost from a standstill, contributing to the incredible 0-60 time. Carbon ceramic brakes provide racing-level stopping power, and active aerodynamics throughout optimize performance, including an active element at the front of the car in the underbody, which lowers by 1.6 inches at 50 mph, creating a Venturi effect that adds front downforce and enhances performance. In addition, the active rear spoiler features five new positions which can either add downforce or reduce drag. As with any Mercedes-AMG vehicle, style and luxury are important considerations alongside thrilling high performance, and the extended MANUFAKTUR Signature program introduces exclusive paint finishes like Desert Sand and Cirrus Silver Magno, along with interior finishes like Red/Black and Savannah Beige/Black quilted Nappa leather, with luxurious details like a hand-stitched Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated door sill panels, and MANUFAKTUR badging on the center console in chrome. Hybrid powertrains are taking the power and performance of AMG’s lineup to a new level, and after revealing the new generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT coupe, the newest flagship is the latest to be imbued with incredible hybrid power. With 805 horsepower and incredible performance-oriented technology throughout, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE is stylish, innovative, and ready to usher in a new electrified era for AMG.
