If you’re even a little gullible or tend to lose track of the date, April Fools' Day has a way of catching you off guard, and this year, the automotive world is leaning into the surprises more than usual. So far, we’ve already been witness to some colorful antics by Automobili Lamborghini, Honda’s cat-friendly cabin, and Suzuki’s Slimmy. Joining in on the jokes this April Fools' Day is the team at Gunther Werks, adding functionality and practicality for foodies with the actually genius idea of remagining rear spoilers as drink and snack trays.
We’ve all seen those viral Instagram posts of supercar owners using massive carbon rear wings as makeshift tables for fast food. Gunther Werks takes things to a whole new level by styling active aero with cup holders and trays for convenient snacking, whether it's fruit cups and chicken nuggets for the kids or caviar and champagne for the adults. The passionate Porsche specialists teased the joke with the Instagram caption, “ The system is thoughtfully developed to provide a stable platform while protecting the exposed carbon fiber from spills and surface damage.”
And while most of us are giggling at the joke renderings, I’m sure that there are collectors somewhere wondering about or even wanting this installed on their very own Gunther Werks build. A clever way to keep car enthusiasts on their toes this April Fools' Day, it still holds onto that keen rule of keeping food and drinks out of the interior of your Porsche.
