Porsche Announces Formula E Customer Team & Four Factory Cars

Porsche brings even more intensity to an electrifying racing series.

Formula E, which is approaching its thirteenth season since the series' introduction in 2014, delivers the excitement and intensity of some of the world’s premier open-wheel, single-seater championships, along with the futurism and cutting-edge innovation of electric mobility. As such, a growing number of manufacturers have joined the series to compete, and the current reigning Manufacturers’ World Champion in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is Porsche, and coming off its win this year, Porsche is going into next season with an even stronger presence.

For the 2026/2027 season, Porsche is fielding four cars itself on the Formula E grid. In addition, Season 13 will see a Porsche customer team competing. That’s not the only thing making the competition more intense for the upcoming season, however. The total of six Porsche 99X Electric Formula E race cars will be part of the GEN4 generation of Formula E cars, which have over 600 kW, or roughly 805 horsepower on tap.

The increase in performance across the Formula E grid is the biggest increase in performance for the cars yet, and, driving excitement for electric cars and electric mobility on the road, as well as the racing grid, Porsche’s own lineup of production electric vehicles is growing as well.

Starting with the Taycan, Porsche now has an electric version of its iconic Macan SUV in its lineup, and an electric version of the Cayenne is coming, as well, with incredible technology that has the potential to push the entire EV industry forward. With a bigger presence in electric racing and electric vehicles than ever, Porsche is making a bold commitment to electrification across its brand.
