The New Porsche 935: How it Came to Life

When Porsche Motorsport engineers decided to revive a legend, no expense was spared. The new Porsche 935 is loosely based on the 911 GT2 RS and it is ready for any track in the world. Extensive computer modeling and countless hours in the wind tunnel have produced a stunning design. Only 77 examples are planned, so we hope a few of them reach the US.  Their goal was to breathe new life into the Clubsport racing scene with a wild 911. Many of these will undoubtedly be locked away in Porsche collections around the world, and you will see them on the pages of our magazine. This 700 horsepower beast is the stuff that dreams are made of, so stay with us for all your Porsche news. 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera S Configurator is Live!

A new Porsche 911 would be nice to have, even if its only in a virtual setting. Before you go running to the dealer, let's build a new Carrera S together. Guards Red is the only true 911 color, all others are simply mistakes. Wheels are 20" front and 21" rear in four styles. The forged RS Spyder wheels look imposing in any situation, so let's roll! Next up are a few interior options. Several materials range from Sport-Tex and a leather package for the doors and dash. We went all-in with Black & Bordeaux Red. The standard seats look plain, so we opted for the Adaptive Sport Seats which offer great lateral support.  This ability to define every detail is what makes it the ultimate exotic car for sale.  The next set of options blew us away. Ground effects from the Exclusive Manufaktur allow the rocker panels to make the car look lower to the ground. We are in Florida, so the sunroof was a no-brainer. Tinted glass is not needed, because it is better left to a local installer. A carbon fiber roof would be nice, but it isn't available with the sunroof, oh well. Powered folding mirrors are an option? It's getting thick now.  World's Fastest SUVs For Sale For all the performance goodies you can't see, we chose almost all the 4-letter acronyms: PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management), PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes), along with Front Axle Lift, Sports Exhaust, Sport Chrono Package, Rear Steering (including power steering plus), and the 23.7 gallon fuel tank.  The final few options include LED Matrix Beam headlights, dimming rear view mirror, rear wiper, and night vision. We didn't opt for all the safety helpers because this isn't a minivan. Lane change assist, surround view Park Assist, and Speed Limit Indicator are for those who lack situational awareness.  Moving back inside, the cabin air ionizer is nice for smelly passengers, but ionized air causes leather to age very quickly, so bye Felicia. We did go with ambient lighting, a fire extinguisher, and heated seats. Carbon fiber sill plates and embroidered seats would be fine on a Porsche GT3, but we chose Burmester Audio with a digital FM tuner and called it quits.  Build yours now! Find Your Porsche 911 Here

New Porsche 911 Watch to Celebrate the Next-Generation

Porsche has unveiled the next-generation of their 911 model, the 992 generation, after a lot of teasing and sneak peeks. To celebrate the new model, Porsche Design has unveiled a special edition watch that's limited to just 911 examples. It's called the 911 Chronograph Timeless Machine Limited Edition. That's quite the mouthful. Porsche Design took inspiration from the new model when designing this watch. The sleek lines of the case do their best at mirroring the new dashboard found in the next-generation 911. Reading the watch while driving was also important to the designers, so they made sure to use white pointers and indicators so the wearer can quickly tell time while on the move. Other features that mimic the 911 car include the silhouette of the car on the dial and the strap that using genuine Porsche interior leather. Porsche Design will be offering the 911 Chronograph Timeless Machine Limited Edition starting in April 2019 in an exclusive box with a special badge.  Shop porsche design Also Check Out These Watches: HYT Watches Introduces the New H4 Timepieces Bentley Renews Breitling Partnership, More Watches Coming Montblanc Unveils Two New Watches at Goodwood 2018

2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport: Ready to Race!

The big news today was in the formal unveiling of the 2020 Porsche 911. The new 992 generation will benefit from a new interior and a wider stance, some of us simply can't let go. The 991 series 911 has been with us since 2011, and it has been the most successful model in the brand's history.  That's why Porsche saved the best for last. Demand for the 911 is as strong as ever, which doesn't allow any downtime to re-tool the plant for a new model. Production has already started on Model-Year 2020 while the final 200 examples of 2019 come to an end. Staying true to their history, the final cars will be the ultimate examples of the 991 series.  The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is a a hardcore race car that is not legal to drive on any continent. That's because the 700 horsepower twin turbo 3.8-liter is built to race. It arrives with Cosworth engine management, fire & safety systems, and lightweight body panels. Fully loaded with a 6-point harness, roll cage, and all FIA-mandated equipment, it weighs in at 3,064 lbs. That also includes air jacks, a roof escape hatch, and a 30 gallon fuel cell.  Even though it is as subtle as incoming artillery, Porsche is including catalytic converters to make it one of the least-polluting race cars ever built. The steering and suspension are forged steel with ball-joints instead of rubber bushings. Both sway bars have adjustable blades, and you can easily adjust caster and camber at all corners. Brake bias is easily adjusted for changing conditions and the steel Brembos won't fade under pressure. Porsche saved the best for last! It's coming with a $478,000 MSRP and will start being delivered in May 2019. It will be a while until the RS cars return, so click the link below before they're all gone.  View All Porsche GT2 RS For Sale " width="680"> Also Check Out: 2020 Porsche 911 (992): Price, Specs, Photos, and Review New Porsche Panamera GTS and GTS Sport Turismo Revealed Report: All-Electric Porsche Taycan Gets Estimated Price

Porsche 911: Eight Generations of Perfection

We have all been waiting for the new Porsche 911. Model year 2020 will be the 8th generation of their flagship sports car, and it will be unveiled next week in Los Angeles. A press release form Stuttgart earlier this morning outlines the significance of the upcoming event.  The first Porsche 911 was shown to the world on September 12th, 1963. It has seen 55 years of innovation through seven distinct models. "Typ 901" was the ancestor of all 911 models, even the Turbo S Exclusive Series we have downstairs. The flat engine mounted behind the rear wheels makes for incredible grip and a distinct soundtrack.  It is a far cry from the humble 356, and its origins in an Austrian sawmill. The story of of a son's love for his imprisoned father is the stuff of legends. Turning the page on to a new chapter, Porsche is staying true to the original recipe. Over 111,900 examples of the first generation 911 were built between 1963 and '73, and 'Typ 992' will be the perfect 2+2 sports car. Porsche 992 Testing (10)

By Andrew Nabors –  November 05, 2018

Next-Gen Porsche 911's Brutal Testing

Outlined in out 8th Amendment is the prevention of "Cruel & Unusual" punishment.  Germany's modern constitution follows the same lines, but their punishment says nothing about the Porsche 911, their most famous car.  Engineers at Stuttgart have devious methods to prove the reliable design of the Porsche 911. In a press release over the weekend, they outlined several situations around the world. Starting at the top (of the world) a fleet of cars is continuosly cold-started at 31* below 0 (Farenheit). Not only does this prove the oil pump can force feed the bearings well below freezing.  Next up is a run from Death Valley to Mt Whitney, the highest and lowest spots in the Lower 48. This run gains 9,900 lbs in elevation, ensuring the turbos can still provide boost up in the thin air.  Mount Evans is 9,000 feet above Denver, with paved roads over 14,200 feet. Visible from the great plains, you can see the upcoming 992  Series test mules carving the corners of the summit road.  Hot weather testing also takes place here in Florida, with camouflaged versions pushing their A/C to the max in stop & go gridlock. Relentless testing also happens in Germany, running the Eifel Mountains to test transmissions and brakes beyond normal driving conditions. Testing like this is nothing new for Porsche, even back to the 993 series. So click the link below for great incentives from our dealers and stay with us for all your Porsche news.  " width="680"> Also Check Out: Find Your Porsche 911 Here Porsche 993 Specs, Photos, Prices & Review Porsche GT2 RS MR Shatters 'Ring Record Time

Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR Shatters 'Ring Record Time

If you are reading this, you probably know that Porsches are fast. In fact, the 911 GT2 RS set a new record time in September 2017. Their lap time of 6:47.25 was broken by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ back in July. The latest Aventador lapped the historic track in 6:44.97. But it is time for a new leader. Manthey-Racing is an engineering and development company based at the Nürburgring. Their know the track better than anyone else, which is why Porsche owns 51% of the company.  In a press release this morning, Porsche announced a new lap time, and behind the wheel was Lars Kern. He is the same development engineer who set the record in 2017, and in the evening hours of November 1st, he set a new world record. The time to beat is now at 6:40.3!  To put that in perspective, it is one minute faster than the Bugatti Veyron and the Lamborghini Murcielago, both of which are other brands owned by Volkswagen Group. Somewhere in his Austrian estate, Dr. Wolfgang Porsche is smiling. His father's creation still reigns supreme, and the GT2 RS is undoubtedly the fastest production car in the world.  Find Your Porsche 911 GT2 RS Here!

Gt3 Touring

Porsche 911 GT3 Price, Specs, Photos & Review

Porsche GT3 Review The GT3 is the road-going sibling of the Porsche 911 GT1. The current generation, the 911 series, has been in production since 2013. For the joy of driving purists — and of collectors — the 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 specs include both manual gearbox and dual-clutch options. Though the Porsche GT3 price (MSRP) is $143,600, adding options such as carbon ceramic brakes, heated seats and more can skyrocket the cost of a new car. No Porsche GT3 review would be complete without mentioning that the driving experience is equally thrilling on both racetrack and regular roads. Late 996 by Milestoned on Flickr Porsche GT3 Generations The first version of the Porsche 911 GT3 specs debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999. Since then, Porsche has released several other generations. Allow us to break it down by years so you can have a better idea of each car's attributes. 996 GT3 (1999–2005) The 996 series has the narrow body of the Porsche 996 Carrera, but the powerful, naturally aspirated engine derived from the 911 GT1. And like its race sibling, the 996 GT3 is stripped of unnecessary weight. The 996 series has a six-speed manual gearbox and front-mounted radiators. Slim air vents for the front bumper and a massive rear wing are some of the standout features of this GT3 generation. Porsche 996 Series GT3 Cup Car 997 GT3 (2006–2011) The Porsche 997 GT3 has updated suspension and improved aerodynamics, hence increased stability, compared to the previous generation. It is equipped with Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM), an automated system that improves stability and safety on uneven road surfaces. The result is increased agility on both road and racetrack. 2015 Porsche 991.1 Series 911 GT3 991.1 GT3 (2013-2015) The 5th generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 specs are those of the 991 generation. It launched in 2013 with new 3.8-liter engine, transmission, and sporty exhaust system. Its new wider body is based on the Porsche Carrera 2. A standout feature of the 2013 911 generation is the dual-clutch gearbox, a departure from the previous generations. It offers 475 hp at a screaming 9,000 rpm. After a few engine failures, Porsche redesigned the valvetrain and installed the new engines in all 785 customer cars. 2018 Porsche 991.2 Series 911 GT3 991.2 GT3 (2018-2020) In 2018, the GT3 returned to its roots, as Porsche reintroduced the manual gearbox option. The 991.2 GT3 might look similar, but the suspension and chassis is all new. Taking a page from the past, the 4.0-liter engine returned, rated at 500 horsepower. Combined with the 6-speed manual, it is the perfect Porsche. But those who don't need all the wild aerodynamic bits now have another choice. The 2019 Porsche GT3 Touring uses a widebody to hide the massive wheels, but it is very understated. It looks like a Carrera until it blows your doors off. Also offered with a stick, the GT3 Touring is a 911R for a new generation. Porsche GT3 Engine The race-derived Porsche 911 GT3 specs include a flat six cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. Modern emissions laws have required the base model Carrera and Targa models to adopt turbos. The GT3 and its RS derivative are your only option for a non-turbo 911. Starting back in 1999, the 3.6-liter made 355 horsepower. In 2006, the 997.1 GT3 arrived with  409 horsepower.  By 2009, advancements in engine technology allowed the 997.2 to grow from 3.6 to 3.8-liters. Power also jumped accordingly, with 430 hp on tap.  Engines for the 991 series are covered above. It should be noted that the 1999-2004 era are the last to use the 356 mounting face and transmission. So it could be easy to swap this setup into a classic Porsche or VW without much work. 2007 Porsche 997.1 Series 911 GT3 Porsche GT3 Transmission If you want to choose between the Porsche PDK or Porsche GT3 manual transmission, go for models younger than 2017. All Porsche 911 GT3 specs between 1999 and 2011 have a manual transmission, and the 991.1 GT3 (2013–2017) is Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) only. Porsche reintroduced the six-speed manual gearbox as an option for the 991.2 GT3. The dual-clutch gearbox offers quicker acceleration, but the manual one is 37 pounds lighter and makes for a better driving experience. Both versions are lighter than the Turbo and 4S models because GT cars send power to the rear wheels only. 2018 Porsche 991.2 Series 911 GT3 Porsche GT3 Brakes The standard steel braking system of the Porsche GT3 comprises six-piston aluminum brake calipers on the front and four-piston equivalents on the rear axle. Choosing the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) will add over $9,000 to the price of a new car. The ceramic brake discs have a diameter of 16.15 inches at the front and 15.35 inches at the rear. The composite ceramic brakes shorten braking distances in any track or road condition. They also weigh about half as much as the steel braking system, allowing for increased agility and handling. Porsche GT3 Design The GT3's overall design doesn't differ much from that of the iconic 1964 Porsche 911. The Porsche 911 GT3 specs include 20-inch wheels with a central locking nut for fast wheel changes. Made of carbon, the rear spoiler is larger and 0.8 inch taller than that of previous versions, so it generates more downforce. The rear-axle steering, which comes standard, ensures better maneuverability at low speeds and better stability in high-speed corners. The air vents and air blades on each side improve cooling. The front end is made of a lightweight yet robust high-tech material for more downforce at the front axle. 2009 Porsche GT3 Cup Car Porsche GT3 Interior The interior of the Porsche GT3 focuses on performance. There are no unnecessary controls on the central console, to emphasize distraction-free driving. The gear selector sits next to the steering wheel, and the gearshift paddles are placed on the steering wheel. Optional full bucket seats and sports bucket seats are available. Yet, the Sports Seats Plus that are standard on the 997 Porsche 911 GT3 specs are great as daily driver seats — they're comfortable and offer good lateral support. Porsche 997 Series 911 GT3 Interior Porsche GT3 Standout Features This race-bred Porsche is a pure thrill to drive on racetracks, therefore, it also offers a fun driving experience on regular roads, too. The driving position is spot on, and the suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires do a great job at softening blows from uneven roads. Thanks to a minimalist interior and the use of high-tech materials, the 991 Porsche 911 GT3 specs a weight of about 3,153 lbs. The standout features of the GT3 include a race-inspired engine that puts out 500 hp. The 2018 Porsche GT3 0-60 in 3.1 seconds gives you thrills, and the car reaches a top speed of 199 mph and a redline of 9,000 rpm. 2014 Porsche 991.1 Series 911 GT3 With Martini Livery The newer generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 specs include both automatic and manual transmission options. This is for the joy of drivers who prefer the challenge and excitement that only a manual gearbox can provide. The suspension is adjustable for racing use, as are the toe angle, anti-roll bars, and camber. Finally, the new 991.2 chassis improve stability and steering precision. In short, whether for track or road duty, the Porsche GT3 is the quintessential sports car. Browse Porsche 911 GT3 For Sale

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Generation Comparison

The new 2019 Porche 911 GT3 RS is considered a part of the 991.2 generation, while the previous model year example is within the 991.1 generation. This may confuse to some, but to Porsche aficionados, it's just part of how Porsche rolls out changes. To better explain what the differences are between these two models, Porsche West Palm Beach put together a video that compares the two different 911 GT3 RS generations. The many changes made to the 991.2 generation of the 911 GT3 RS have undoubtedly led to increased performance. For example, Porsche lapped the updated model around Nurburgring in order to show off its newfound agility. This resulted in a lap time that was faster than the 918 Spyder hypercar and any 911 GT3 RS that came before it. Not bad.New Porsche 911 GT3 RS TECHART Carbon Sport PackAs for the specifics of the car, its powered by a naturally aspirated engine that produces 520 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm. It also has a curb weight of just 3,153 and a power-to-weight ratio of 6.1 lb/hp. Its 0 to 60 mph time is just 3 seconds and the car has a top speed of 193 mph. Basically, this new generation of the 911 GT3 RS is a Gern improvement on a model that was already superior to so many other cars.Porsche West Palm Beach Inventory  Porsche 911 GT3 RS Specs
