The 2025 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge Is Underway

Porsche's rich history is at the center of yet another exciting competition. With over 75 years of history, Porsche is one of the most revered manufacturers of luxury performance vehicles in the automotive industry. Its legendary 911, one of the world’s most celebrated and recognizable sports cars of all time, has 60 years of history alone, and Porsche’s lexicon of classics is the subject of its Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge. The annual competition sees Porsche challenge its United States dealerships to the task of finding a classic Porsche that needs TLC and restoring it to show-worthy glory. Since its inception in 2020, over 100 classic Porsches have been resurrected as part of the challenge that were previously not road-worthy. Three categories of vehicles will be entered in the challenge this year: Preservation, which celebrates vehicles that use original parts and materials, Restoration, which celebrates vehicles that are brought to like-new condition, and Individualization, which focuses on Sonderwunsch-like customization. With more Porsches in America than anywhere else in the world, there are plenty of cars still waiting to be cherished as part of the competition, whose 2025 edition is now underway. Porsche Centers across the country will be documenting their progress as they restore previously unloved hidden gems of Porsche’s classic history, and regional judging will take place this summer towards the finale in October. RUF Introduces New LED Lighting For The '90s 993 Porsche 911

RUF brings modern lighting technology to a legendary classic. While the Porsche 911 is one of the world’s most legendary and iconic performance cars, if not one of the most iconic and recognizable cars ever made, enthusiasts have a special affinity for the generations of the 911 that came before the introduction of water-cooled engines to the lineup, which ended in the late 1990s. The final air-cooled generation of the Porsche 911 was the 993, which in over a quarter-century since its discontinuation, has become a legendary icon among Porsche enthusiasts and a coveted collector car. As with any classic, much of the technology and convenience features are out of date, which can sometimes prove an inconvenience for owners, or a part of the car’s charm and appeal. For owners of the Porsche 911 993 generation, however, RUF, a specialist in tuning, manufacturing, and creating vehicles with purist appeal, the gap is being bridged for one feature, combining vintage authenticity with modern convenience. That feature is specifically the exterior lighting of the Porsche 993 911, with RUF announcing new LED lighting solutions for the classic air-cooled 911 model. Available to order immeidately, the new LED lighting solutions are plug-and-play ways to update beautiful classic Porsche 911 993 cars with state-of-the-art LED exterior ligthing. While the lights feature modern LED brightness and technology, the design maintains the classic sensibilities and ‘90s aesthetic of the original car, matching seamlessly with the classic. Available now online at the RUF parts store, owners of the classic Porsche 911 993 generation can enjoy their classic air-cooled Porsche 911, with the new advent of modern LED lighting. For those enthusiasts with a passion for the air-cooled 911 and want to preserve its impact on automotive history, they can now do so with modern LED lighting on their classic cars. Porsche Taycan Achieves New Guinness World Record For Ice...

Porsche’s electric icon achieves another world record. The Porsche Taycan has made a significant splash as Porsche’s first all-electric model, not only within Porsche’s lineup of luxury performance vehicles, but throughout the automotive industry. Combining luxurious appointments with formidable performance, high-tech innovation, and Porsche’s renowned performance-oriented engineering ability, the Taycan has demonstrated incredible capabilities for Porsche’s electric vehicle lineup, and for performance-oriented electric vehicles as a whole. Already achieving three Guinness World Records for its unique abilities, the already-iconic Porsche Taycan has earned yet another feather in its cap, earning a fourth world record by drifting an incredible continuous distance on ice. With Jens Richter behind the wheel of a Porsche Taycan GTS, the car was able to maintain a controlled oversteer on ice, drifting 132 laps for a total of 46 minutes. With its distance of 10.87 miles, the Porsche Taycan has earned the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous vehicle drift on ice by an electric vehicle. The previous world record was 9.2 miles, with the new record besting its distance by over two and a half miles. The drift took place with an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records on an ice track at the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland, with a drift circle that had a 59-meter diameter. Along with the other world records of the greatest altitude change by an electric car, achieved on the Xinjiang-Tibet route, the fastest speed driven by a vehicle in an enclosed building, achieved in New Orleans, and drifting 210 laps for 26.2 miles in 55 minutes at Hockenheimring, Porsche’s latest achievement with the Taycan is just the beginning of an incredible electric vehicle legacy from the legendary manufacturer. Porsche Wins 2025 24 Hours Of Daytona Two Years In A Row

Porsche wins a legendary endurance race again. The 24 Hours of Daytona is one of the most legendary races on the endurance calendar. Its victories have inspired and influenced automotive history for decades, and at this year’s 2025 24 Hours of Daytona race, the incredible Porsche 963 achieved a back-to-back victory thanks to the efforts of the Porsche Penske Motorsport team. Earning a second consecutive win at the legendary race, the victory is another feather in the highly successful team’s cap. The race was won by drivers Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy, and Laurens Vanthoor. However, the epic story to achieve victory saw the Number 7 car pass the number 6 sister car to achieve victory. The number 6 car also earned a podium finish, managing to place third in the race. The win marks the twentieth overall win for Porsche in the legendary 24 Hours of Daytona race. Meanwhile, Porsche’s other efforts in Daytona showed success, as well. The Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Ayhancan Güven, Elliott Skeer, Adam Adelson and Tom Sargent for Wright Motorsports achieved second place in the GTD class of the race, finishing 27th overall out of the full field of 61 cars. With its incredible success at the 2025 24 Hours of Daytona, Porsche looks forward to an exciting endurance racing season. View All Porsches For Sale

Discover Porsche's New Capsule Collection By Poggy

For millions of passionate car enthusiasts with a goal of one day owning their dream car, that dream often takes on the iconic shape of a classic Porsche 911. Whether it be a split second when one caught your eye or a specific example that gained significance as a family heirloom, there's no denying that the story behind one's love for 911s proves to be just as special as the car itself. It's a similar story shared by streetwear and fashion revolutionary Motofumi "POGGY" Kogi, whose eternal love for Porsche has transformed him from a dreamer into an owner. In collaboration with Porsche Japan and the manufacturer's bespoke Sonderwunsch program, Poggy recently debuted his brand-new 992 Porsche 911 Carrera T in a jaw-dropping spec. Today, Poggy and Porsche are proud to announce an exclusive capsule collection inspired by his newly beloved car. The collection is categorized by Poggy's dreams centered around Porsche and, more specifically, the reasons why it attracts the attention of so many people. Drawing inspiration from icons like Jackie Stewart and Princess Diana, it celebrates timeless style with a nostalgic twist. From tartan patterns to casual V-neck sweaters paired with blazers, the collection feels like a tribute to a time when luxury met simplicity. It's about capturing the feeling of driving a Porsche while dressed in a way that's relaxed but still refined. Poggy imagines the 911 not as a status symbol but as something to enjoy every day, whether it's filling up at a gas station in workwear or heading out in denim with a touch of character. There's even a nod to childhood nostalgia, like a sepia-toned Porsche reminiscent of the 1970s. View all Porsche 911s for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the link below. How Porsche Made The Taycan Turbo GT Its Most Powerful Mo...

Porsche pushed engineering boundaries for its pinnacle EV. It’s been almost a year since the unveiling of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, which raised the bar for Porsche’s electric performance capabilities as not only the new performance pinnacle of Porsche’s Taycan lineup but also the most powerful production model that Porsche has ever made. As the ultimate iteration of the first Porsche electric vehicle, the Taycan Turbo GT arrived on the scene, breaking records on race tracks around the world thanks to its immense power and immaculate engineering. However, creating a vehicle that is even more powerful and fast than the previous pinnacle Taycan, the Turbo S, is easier said than done. When it comes to combustion engines, increasing power is much more straightforward, as it can be achieved by increasing displacement, letting the engine rev higher, and lowering friction losses. Improving an electric vehicle that is already immensely powerful, like the Taycan Turbo S, on the other hand, is more complex. Porsche had to use creative solutions to up the ante for the Taycan Turbo GT. The engineers started by improving the pulse inverter at the rear axle from a 600-ampere unit to a 900-ampere one, which required a modified body shell to accommodate its height. The two-speed transmission was also improved to better handle the increased torque, and with a longer ratio, a higher top speed was also achieved. To improve aerodynamics, new spoilers were added, and the underbody was modified. Performance was also enhanced with lightweight ceramic brakes, special tires and wheels, and the iconic Weissach Package, which adds extra racing-readiness to many celebrated Porsche models. Derived from Formula E, extra power is achieved through Attack Mode, which transforms the vehicle’s performance for two seconds. With the electric future on the horizon for the automotive industry, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is a perfect example of how to achieve pinnacle battery-powered performance. Robotic arms, guided by AI, skillfully assemble a brown car frame on the production line of a modern factory setting, preparing it for the meticulous Porsche paint process.

By Tyler Rampersaud –  January 17, 2025

How Porsche Uses AI To Perfect Its Paint Process

This is how Porsche’s paint process passes with flying colors. Porsche is known for its revered and cherished lineup of luxury performance vehicles. It is especially celebrated for its wide spectrum of paint colors, especially in its virtually limitless Paint to Sample library. However, besides the beauty of the colors themselves, how they are applied to the surface of the vehicle’s body is paramount to ensuring their beauty. Porsche’s paint process uses painstaking effort and cutting-edge technology to ensure its finished paintwork embodies perfection. A ubiquitous image in automotive manufacturing is the robotic arm that applies paint to vehicle bodies, but that’s just one part of Porsche’s extensive paint process. Despite the precision robots have achieved over the decades, the paint finish still needs to be inspected before the vehicle is completed. Until recently, this inspection needed to be done manually, in a labor-intensive process where keen eyes meticulously looked over the paint finish for flaws. Even with the greatest expertise, this process was susceptible to human error. Now, at the Porsche plant in Leipzig, the process is streamlined and enhanced with an automatic defect detection system. Two robots scan the entire painted surface, capturing images every 2.5 millimeters, totaling 100,000 pictures during the inspection cycle. Ten computers analyze the pictures to find imperfections. Upon finding an imperfection, its location is marked within a millimeter of accuracy, at which point fixing the imperfection begins. In addition to fixing mistakes, thanks to artificial intelligence, the defect detection system helps find patterns in imperfections and alert the plant to flaws in the painting process earlier for the process to be improved. Thanks to the efforts of experts at the Porsche plant in Leipzig and cutting-edge technology advances, Porsche’s paint process comes closer to perfection. View All Porsches For Sale

Porsche 911 GT3 RS and 911 GT2 RS Manthey Kits Now Offere...

Manthey kits finally land on U.S. soil for Porsche. Engineered on the racetrack with everyday road use in mind, Porsche's lineup of GT cars offers a true race-inspired driving experience for customers looking to add some excitement to the garage. And while countless hours of design and testing go into producing what seem to be the ultimate sports cars, the team at Manthey Racing, a division of Porsche, takes things even further with aero, braking, and suspension upgrades for two of the most track-focused 911 variants. Today, Porsche and Manthey Racing proudly announce that kits will now be offered in the U.S. for the 992 911 GT3 RS and 991 911 GT2 RS. The Manthey Kit for the 992 911 GT3 RS transforms it into a downforce powerhouse, generating over 2,200 pounds at 177 mph. Upgraded aerodynamics include a larger front lip, shark fin, and split DRS rear wing, while lightweight carbon fiber parts replace heavier components. The semi-active coilover suspension is fine-tuned to handle the increased downforce, offering precision adjustments for any track. Brake upgrades guarantee a sharper response in the corners, while personalization options like carbon fiber accents and custom decals let owners add their own touch. For the 991 911 GT2 RS, the Manthey Kit delivers precise upgrades, including aerodynamic tweaks that significantly increase downforce and improve high-speed stability. Magnesium wheels shed weight and maintain strength, and a larger water tank for intercooler spray cooling keeps the car running efficiently during intense track sessions. The track-optimized suspension allows for customizable handling, and steel-lined brake lines improve braking feedback. These improvements make the GT2 RS even more exciting to drive, with balanced performance that lets drivers push the limits confidently. Both kits are available to order immediately through Manthey-certified U.S. Porsche dealerships with delivery expected by Spring, 2025. MSRP for the 911 GT3 RS Manthey Kit is $116,160. MSRP for the 911 GT2 RS Manthey Kit is $113,140. Both prices exclude taxes and dealer installation costs. View All Porsche 911 GT3 RS & 911 GT2 RS For Sale Source: Porsche
