The New 2022 Porsche 911 Sally Special Based On Pixar's C...

A one-off Porsche 911 with a major nostalgia factor will be auctioned very soon. Pixar’s Cars movie was a story about the strength of community and the power of friendship in a small town of personified cars, and one of the most iconic characters from the entire Cars trilogy was Sally Carrera, especially because she was based on one of the world’s most iconic cars. Sally is a 2022 Porsche 911 Carrera, and to celebrate her 20th anniversary, Porsche and Pixar have collaborated again on the new 2022 Porsche 911 Sally Special, a recreation of Sally Carrera in the form of a new Porsche 911. MUST READ: Porsche x TAG Heuer Unveil A New 99X Race Livery For The Formula E World Championship In Seoul The car is finished in Sally’s signature color, Saly Blue Metallic, and it features a modern interpretation of Sally’s Turbo-style wheels. Since Sally didn’t have an interior, the interior designers were left to interpret what the Sally Special’s interior would look like. Because she was a lawyer to left a high-profile, big-city job to run a motel in Radiator Springs, they thought the interior would be both elegant and down to earth, and chose Chalk leather and Speed Blue stitching with Pepita houndstooth fabric inserts. Because of Sally’s love for driving, the car is based on the most spirited and powerful iteration of the Porsche 911 Carrera, the 911 Carrera GTS. With a 473-horsepower engine and a 7-speed manual transmission, it’s a driver's car that Sally would have definitely enjoyed having at her disposal. In addition, the car is paired with a unique Porsche Design chronograph in Sally Blue Metallic, with an easily interchangeable strap. Both the car and the timepiece will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s on Saturday, August 20 at Monterey Car Week in California. The proceeds from the auction will be given to two charities: Girls Inc. and USA for UNHCR. View All Porsche 911s For Sale Source: Porsche

Porsche x TAG Heuer Unveil A New 99X Race Livery For The ...

The new design of the Porsche 99X Electric was created exclusively for the Formula E races in the South Korean capital. As the Porsche Formula E team continues its push towards the end of the 2022 season, sight sets on the final round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The team preps for the finale by learning the track and improving performance, but also introducing a completely new livery design. In collaboration with its partners at TAG Heuer, Porsche Formula E is proud to debut a stealth-like race livery with inspiration from the all-new Connected Caliber 4 Porsche Edition smartwatch. Porsche and TAG Heuer are excited to showcase two world premiers at the Seoul E-Prix circuit. The two Porsche 99X Electric race cars will feature a new and exclusive design unveiled at an event in the SJ Kunsthalle in the trendy district of Chengdam-dong. The body of the innovative electric racing car from Weissach, which clinched its first Formula E victory in Mexico City this season, mirrors the colors of the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition: frozen blue and black. MUST-READ: The Porsche Taycan Sets A New Nürburgring Record For Series-Production Electric Cars The electric frozen blue shade adds contrast to the robust matte black finish, which comes directly from the all-electric Porsche Taycan. The graphic elements of the design reflect the pit boards, speed, and progress while drawing attention to the lights of Seoul. The head-turning color combination comes as inspiration from the TAG Heuer x Porsche Connected watch, a staple model for the brand as its entry example into the world of luxury smartwatches. The two Porsche 99X Formula E race cars driven by André Lotterer (GER/#36) and Pascal Wehrlein (GER/#94) will take on the Seoul E-Prix event on 13 and 14 August featuring the all-new design. The Porsche Taycan Sets A New Nürburgring Record For Seri...

A green car takes on the Green Hell. At this point, it’s no surprise that electric vehicles can pack some serious punch, and while this realization may have taken some getting used to, car manufacturers and enthusiasts are excited to explore the performance potential of electric vehicles. One of the automotive performance world's most important names, Porsche, has its own electric performance car, the Taycan, and it’s already proved its mettle with speed, dynamism, and luxury. However, there’s one place where brands, cars, and drivers all over the world put themselves to the ultimate test: the Nürburgring. It’s one of the most famed, long, and difficult race tracks in the world, and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S and Porsche’s development driver, Lars Kern, set the fastest time yet for a series-production electric car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. MUST READ: The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Is The Favorite Car Of The Earl of Pembroke At 7 minutes and 33 seconds, the Taycan Turbo S was able to achieve the time thanks to the new performance kit and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control but was otherwise a stock vehicle besides the required roll cage and racing seats. With the performance kit, the Taycan comes with 21-inch RS-Spyder-design wheels and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, that are road approved but similar to racing tires. Currently, this performance kit offered through Porsche Tequipment is only available in Germany for the 2023 Taycan Turbo S sedan, and because the tires are designed for the track, Porsche makes it easy to switch between the sports tires and more road-friendly tires without having to restore the original chassis software. With massive power and performance, but no sound or emissions, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S is silently dominating the performance world. View All Porsche Taycans For Sale Source: Porsche

The Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Is The Favorite Car Of The Ea...

The joy of driving a Porsche is fit for a royal. For many, giving up a career to attend to a family tragedy is a setback that can be quite disappointing, and while it absolutely was for William Herbert, who was an industrial designer when his father unfortunately passed away, that family tragedy left him with an entirely new set of responsibilities and traditions, as his family was of English nobles, hailing from the incredible, 14,000-acre Wilton House, a well-known 17th-century house in the UK which has been in the family for over 400 years. MUST READ: One of 407 Porsche 911 SC Weissach Editions Is Owned By a 17-Year-Old Entrepreneur William Herbert became The Right Honourable William Herbert, 18th Earl of Pembroke in 2004 at 26, and now he’s 44, and while he’s settled into his role at the seat of the ancestral home, his passion for cars has never died. The former riding school at the home now features an incredible car collection, and its newest member is a Porsche 911 GT3 Touring. The Earl first experienced a friend’s 911 GT3, and he was blown away by its performance, and after driving one at Silverstone, he decided that he simply needed to get one of his own.  The subdued look of the Touring version of the GT3, along with its everyday comfort and usability is what sold him, and after nearly a year of searching for the right one, he was able to reserve a car with the perfect spec. The unabashed performance and the gentlemanly elegance of the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring is what makes the Porsche 911 GT3 the perfect car for the Earl, who is even thinking about retrofitting rear seats to make it usable for the school run. At just 17, he’s an entrepreneur, investor, and Porsche owner. Merlin Assfalg is a 17-year-old student and son of the CEO of mountain bike manufacturer Propain. However, at a young age, he has plenty of passions, which include stock trading, business, and cars. He has shares in Apple, and currently runs a startup that he founded himself selling bike parts online from a container on Propain’s property, and owns a Porsche 911. Being 17 and in Germany, he isn’t able to drive on his own just yet, but he turns 18 very soon, and his vehicle of choice is one of the most iconic sports cars ever made and a very special edition of it at that. Porsche Cayenne Convertible Main

Discover The One-Off Porsche Cayenne Convertible Concept ...

Shortly after the launch of the first-generation model in December 2002, three additional variants came in for consideration. As Porsche continues its 20 year celebration of the iconic Cayenne, the German sports car manufacturer takes a deep dive into its archives of historic models. With an innovative mindset and an unlimited budget, its no surprise that the Porsche concept department was full of one-off examples that would never see the light of day. Presenting three alternative body shape to the first-generation Cayenne, Porsche is proud to showcase the one-of-one convertible variation. The Cayenne convertible came into consideration after stretching a coupé version by 20 centimeters, while also incorporating a row of rear seats and a retractable canvas roof. Today, there is still a single example of the open-top Cayenne kept in storage at the Porsche Museum. It is not a road-going prototype, however, but what is known as a Package Function Model (PFM). MUST-READ: Porsche Celebrates 20-Years of The Cayenne, The 959 Successor While the exterior underwent multiple design phases, Porsche engineers were unable to implement the appropriate body-stiffening measures necessary for a road-legal convertible. The sport styling of the Cayenne Convertible includes a rear end that mimics the lines of the 996 911, which became an area where designers were unable to agree on a final look. The disagreement of the rear design resulted in two different sections, boasting two completely different ideas and shapes. If the drop-top Cayenne had made it to the actual production line, Porsche was at the ready to install a now familiar soft-top mechanism that would quickly transform its appearance. Ultimately, the mechanism never made it past the computer simulation stage and the fabric top is now stored in the luggage compartment. After bringing back the idea of a Cayenne Coupé in 2019 with a successful production model, Porsche did not pursue the idea of a new convertible cars any further.
