Rennsport Reunion 7 Welcomes "Mirage", The Porsche 911 Fr...

From the big screen to the biggest Porsche gathering, Transformers' 911 'Mirage' is the star of the show. When it comes to creating buzz in the auto and entertainment industries, nothing does it quite like a mashup of legendary sports cars and iconic action film characters. This September, the Autobot Mirage and its Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 (964) movie car are set to grace the world's largest Porsche gathering, Rennsport Reunion 7, after making a grand appearance in "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts." Fans can feast their eyes on this dynamic duo alongside other Transformers legends like Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal, and even attend a special screening of the blockbuster film. Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, couldn't be more thrilled. She commemorates the effort of the Porsche Classic team in restoring the car to functionality post-filming, saying, "It's a significant piece of Porsche history, and there's no better stage than Rennsport Reunion 7 to showcase it." The rarity of the 911 Carrera RS 3.8 can't be overstated, with Porsche producing only 55 units for the entire globe. To protect these vintage gems, the film used five movie set cars that superficially replicate the real deal. An authentic engine sound was recorded from a real 911 RS 3.8 to make the movie as accurate as possible. Each picture car had a unique function, from executing high-speed backward driving to intricate stunts, illustrating the efforts taken to produce a film experience that resonates with movie lovers and automotive enthusiasts. If you're one of the lucky guests attending Porsche's Rennsport Reunion 7 event, make sure to look out for Mirage and the rest of the Transformers crew. Ed Bolian & SWAE Drove Porsche Cayennes 6,000 Miles To Th...

This incredible journey proves the Porsche Cayenne’s mettle yet again. It’s been more than 20 years since the introduction of the Porsche Cayenne, but considering the manufacturer’s 75-year history, the concept remains somewhat novel. At the time of its introduction, it was a radical and controversial vehicle, an SUV surrounded by a lineup of some of the world’s most cherished sports cars. However, it proved a massive success, and one of the cornerstones of Porsche’s brand today.  While many Cayennes are used as family haulers that boast a luxurious and sporty edge, the SUV is also a highly capable vehicle with impressive adventuring ability, and on YouTube, VINWiki proved that with an incredible 6,000-mile expedition. The idea was born from Ed Bolian’s ownership of a Cayenne, originally bought for a “cheap off-roader challenge,” which quickly became one of his favorite cars for its usefulness and charm. After selling that car, Bolian got together with SWAE, a research and design studio in Montana to build four 958-generation Porsche Cayenne Turbos with special liveries. Two went to the Southwest, while two went up to the Arctic for a 6,000-mile round trip. The trip involved challenging terrain, breathtaking landscapes, difficult weather conditions, and a chance to see the Northern Lights. The trip served as a reminder of the joy and importance of exploration and experiencing the world, and despite being from a manufacturer of luxury performance cars for the tarmac, the Porsche Cayenne is an excellent car to adventure with. The New Porsche Panamera Is Coming In November

Porsche is adding a fourth hybrid model to the lineup. The automotive world is buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming 2023 Porsche Panamera, set to make its grand appearance in November at the Icons of Porsche Festival in Dubai. With its last finishing touches almost complete, this four-door sports car promises to elevate the driving experience to an entirely new level. If you're in the market for a slice of exotic German engineering with plush luxury, this just might be your dream ride. A few months shy of its official debut, the new Panamera is wrapping up final test drives in the picturesque landscapes of Barcelona. These aren't any ordinary test drives, though. Porsche engineers are scrutinizing the newly developed chassis with active damper control and a new Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) to ensure that the car meets its high expectations and the fastidious standards of Porsche. This thorough testing phase has spanned four continents, focusing on drivetrain performance at high altitudes, engine-cooling capabilities in extreme heat, and handling in low temperatures. When Porsche promises performance, comfort, and acoustics, they leave no stone unturned. But here's where it gets really interesting: the drivetrain. The 2023 Panamera will feature an entirely upgraded engine range, honed with a keen eye on sustainability and efficiency. Porsche will add a fourth E-Hybrid variant to its lineup, a response to surging customer demand. According to Dr. Thomas Friemuth, head of the Panamera product line, the E-Hybrid models are especially popular in some countries, making up almost 100% of Panamera sales. This new derivative aims to impress, offering a significant electric range and faster charging times. Specifically, Porsche claims that the electric performance has been increased to allow for 70% more range on electric power alone, compared to its predecessor. And speaking of electric performance, the Panamera's new E-Hybrid models will house a more powerful electric motor, seamlessly integrated into the new dual clutch transmission. The energy comes from a high voltage battery boasting a significantly higher capacity of 25.9 kWh. Plus, the 11 kW on-board charger ensures that the charging time is shorter, despite the increased energy content. That's music to the ears for those who value efficiency and speed in equal measure. Beyond the engine, Porsche hasn't skimped on the chassis and suspension. For the first time, the Panamera will offer an optional high-end active chassis with a wide range of functions. The car will come standard with a semi-active dual-chamber, two-valve air suspension system that fine-tunes both comfort and high-performance tuning. This means whether you're cruising through cobblestone streets or tearing up winding country roads, the Panamera promises an exceptional drive. With these exciting features, the 2023 Porsche Panamera is set to make an indelible mark on the luxury car market. Keep your eyes peeled for its grand unveiling in November; this is one release you won't want to miss. View All Porsche Panameras For Sale Image Source: Porsche

The Bridge Event Welcomes Sacrilege Motors' EV-Converted ...

Sacrilege Motors takes center stage at The Bridge's annual auto exhibition with an EV-converted Porsche 911 named BLACKBIRD, blending heritage and innovation. Sacrilege Motors is turning heads in the automotive world. Fresh off their debut at Pebble Beach Concours, co-founders Phil Wagenheim and Bobby Singh are now gearing up for an exclusive showcase at The Bridge. Hosted at a private golf club on the historic Bridgehampton Race Circuit, this invite-only event is essential on the calendar for car collectors and enthusiasts. For the special occasion, Sacrilege Motors is bringing an electrifying exhibit, an EV-converted Porsche 911 America Roadster, one of only 250 ever built. Nicknamed BLACKBIRD, this performance-tuned classic pays homage to the iconic SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. The collaboration between Wagenheim, a finance entrepreneur, and Singh, a Porsche tuning expert, has yielded a Porsche 911 that retains its classic allure while embracing modern electric vehicle technology. Founded in 2020, Sacrilege Motors focuses on restoring 1974-1994 Porsche 911s to Concours-level quality with an all-electric twist. The aim is to merge Porsche's iconic driving dynamics with state-of-the-art electric power, striking a balance between tradition and innovation. While some purists might mock the idea of electrifying a classic 911, the duo behind Sacrilege Motors are firm believers in preserving the car's driving dynamics while reducing its environmental footprint.
