Manthey Kit Porsche 911s Set Records At Road Atlanta

Porsche Cars North America’s headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia, and nearby in Braselton, Georgia, is the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, one of the country’s most iconic racing venues and the home of the annual Petit Le Mans endurance race. There, Porsche brought three 911s to the circuit with hopes of domination, and all of them were equipped with Performance Kits from Manthey Racing, which are made available for Porsche’s top-brass GT cars to take their track performance to an unprecedented level. Manthey Performance Kits often tweak the aerodynamics, chassis, and suspension of already highly impressive performance vehicles, and they proved their abilities at Road Atlanta on the 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and the new 2026 Porsche 911 GT3. Porsche brand ambassador and former factory driver Joerg Bergmeister was behind the wheel of all three, and the success on the track included a new production car lap record for the track. That was achieved with the 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which, even after almost a decade, continues to be a global benchmark for track-focused performance. With a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter boxer six-cylinder engine, the 911 GT2 RS with the Manthey Kit beat the previous production car lap record by 0.2 seconds. The lap time, achieved with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R N0 tires, was 1:22.649. Combining the GT2 RS’s immense power with increased downforce, the performance is nothing short of formidable. <- Gallery -> Meanwhile, the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which boasts up to 2,200 pounds of downforce with the optional Manthey Performance Kit, achieved a lap time of 1:23.932, becoming the fastest naturally-aspirated production car to lap Road Atlanta, and only a second short of the record-breaking 911 GT2 RS. About it, Bergmeister says, "The downforce of this car is simply incredible.“ The 2026 911 GT3 achieved an impressive time at Road Atlanta, as well, lapping the track with the available Manthey Kit in just 1:24.639. The time is 1.8 seconds faster than the 992.1 911 GT3 from 2022, proving itself to be an improvement on an already respectable track-focused car. Each of the three 911s with Manthey Kits proved their incredible performance engineering at Road Atlanta, reinforcing Porsche's track domination near its American home turf. This Professional Skateboarder Jumped a $4 Million Porsche Carrera GT

This Professional Skateboarder Jumped a $4 Million Porsche Carrera GT

As a professional skateboarder, fear often has to be set aside to build the courage to land a trick or stunt, whether it's dropping into a 13-foot halfpipe or ollieing down a 15-stair set. But what happens when you add a seven-figure, collector-grade Porsche supercar into the mix? That was the exact reality for 27-year-old Red Bull professional skateboarder Zion Wright, who recently took to Instagram to show fans and followers his latest stunt: ollieing off a 6+ foot drop over a yellow Porsche Carrera GT, valued at over $4 million.  And before you jump to conclusions, thinking that Zion found a random Carrera GT parked and did this without asking the owner, Raj Alexander of Porsche South Orlando, was on scene to consent and witness it firsthand. Shot through the lens of Hayden Kidd, Wright remained calm, cool, and collected as he checked out the view from above and ran through a speed check or two before soaring over what many will call the greatest Porsche ever created. Adding this to his career highlights, Zion has an already impressive résumé that includes major global contest wins and even a spot on Team USA’s skateboard team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.  As for the Porsche Carrera GT, the early-2000s mid-engine V10 supercar has gained serious notoriety recently, skyrocketing in value among collectors chasing the ultimate analog driver’s car. What once was a modern marvel that sat in the showrooms of Porsche Dealerships with a sticker price of $440,000 now trades on the collector car market for upwards of $4 million. Most recently, an ultra-rare Porsche Carrera GT, finished in PTS (paint-to-sample) Gulf Blue, sold at Broad Arrow Auction’s Amelia Island sale earlier this year for a record-breaking $6.7 million. With no signs of values slowing down anytime soon, it won’t be long before Zion Wright remembers the day he ollied over that $10 million Porsche Carrera GT.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hayden Kidd (@haydenkidd037)

Singer vs. Gunther Werks: Which Is The Better Air-Cooled 911 Magician?

By Tyler Rampersaud –  May 14, 2026

Singer Vehicle Design vs Gunther Werks

If you’re a car enthusiast, or even if you’re not, you likely know about the Porsche 911 and that it’s one of, if not the world’s most iconic sports cars with its unmistakable silhouette, rear-mounted engine and unparalleled driving character. If you’re one of the Porsche 911’s many fans, however, you might have heard of one or both of these names: Singer Vehicle Design and Gunther Werks. Both are specialists in transforming the beloved air-cooled Porsche 911 into bespoke, modernized performance masterpieces, but what sets each apart? With different approaches to transforming the Porsche 911, different visual styles, and different generations of the Porsche 911 restored, we’re answering the question: What is the difference between Gunther Werks and Singer Vehicle Design? View All Porsche 911s For Sale Singer Vehicle Design vs. Gunther Werks: Porsche 911 Generations Singer Vehicle Design specifically specializes in transforming the 964 generation of the Porsche 911, which lasted from 1989 to 1994. Meanwhile, Gunther Werks is known for its 993 Porsche 911-based creations, the final generation of the Porsche 911 to sport an air-cooled engine between 1995 and 1998. Image Source: Gunther Werks Image Source: Singer Vehicle Design Singer Vehicle Design vs. Gunther Werks: Style and Design Singer modernizes, overhauls, and revamps the performance of its Porsche 911 creations and creates bespoke configurations for its clients for each commission. It boasts a style that looks much like the original car, often featuring the same bumpers, ducktail spoilers, Fuchs-style wheels, and cladding as the original 964 donor cars. The interiors feature classic-inspired touches like woven leather and modern touches like exposed carbon fiber. On the other hand, Gunther Werks is known for combining the retro silhouette and aesthetic of the original 911s it transforms while adding modern touches in the design, such as LED lights, exposed carbon fiber, modernized bespoke interiors, and more. Gunther Werks also offers a Speedster body style inspired by Porsche’s various 911 Speedster models. Singer Vehicle Design vs. Gunther Werks: Performance Singer Vehicle Design and Gunther Werks imbue the Porsche 911 with formidable modernized performance that will keep up with some of the most potent modern performance machines. Gunther Werks uses a 4.0-liter flat-six engine built by Rothsport Racing in Oregon. In the Turbo, Gunther Werks’ most powerful restoration program, the engine is twin-turbocharged, revs to 7500 rpm, and produces as much as 700 horsepower in its Track Mode setting. Meanwhile, Singer Vehicle Design’s most powerful engine is restored from the original 964 engine, resulting in a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six with over 700 horsepower at over 9000 rpm. It includes electric wastegates, an air-to-water intercooler, and an electrically powered fan mounted horizontally. Both firms pair their engines with a six-speed manual transmission, preserving the air-cooled 911’s purist, old-school driving character. Different customization and restoration programs from both firms offer varying levels of performance and track readiness. Racing-ready bucket seats, roll cages, and other aspects of the restorations can be equipped to bring purist nostalgia and modern performance to the circuit. Image Source: Singer Vehicle Design Image Source: Gunther Werks Singer Vehicle Design vs. Gunther Werks: Price On the second-hand market, laboriously created, expensive, and highly exclusive commissions from Singer Vehicle Design and Gunther Werks often demand prices well over $1 million, making both Singer Porsche 911 for sale examples and Gunther Werks Porsche 911 for sale examples collector-grade masterpieces and excellent, unique examples of air-cooled Porsche 911 history. Singer Vehicle Design vs. Gunther Werks: Lineup Singer Vehicle Design has four different models, or “Studies,” as they’re called by the firm. The Classic Study modernizes and reimagines the 964 Porsche 911 while retaining its classic look and feel. The Dynamics and Lightweighting Study adds more aggressive aerodynamics and weight savings, inspired by Formula 1 racing knowledge for advanced performance. The Turbo Study integrates turbocharging for incredible power and a modern evolution of the formidable performance introduced in the form of the Porsche 911 Turbo. The Dynamics and Lightweighting Study - Turbo adds turbocharging to the original Dynamics and Lightweighting Study philosophy with a racing-ready body kit, celebrating and inspired by the historic 934/5 endurance racers. Gunter Werks features three models: the Coupe, the Turbo, and the Speedster. The Coupe is its signature transformation of the 993 Porsche 911 coupe. At the same time, the Speedster transforms it into an open-top thriller that uses modern technologies and innovations to maintain robust structural rigidity. It is inspired by the past Porsche 911 Speedster models. The Turbo offers a much more powerful, turbocharged take on the 993 911, an evolution of the contemporary Porsche 911 Turbo. Porsche Celebrates 50 Years of Its Transaxle Era

Porsche Celebrates 50 Years of Its Transaxle Era

In a world filled with collectible rear-engine Porsche 911s climbing in value every day, recognized as some of the best driver’s cars ever created, it's easy to forget the Transaxle era that truly defined the brand and its approach to balance. In the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, Porsche was experimenting with something different, creating a series of front-engine sports cars. Now, five decades later, Porsche Heritage and Porsche Museum are celebrating 50 years of transaxle with a new museum exhibit called “Forever Young. Celebrating Transaxle,” honoring one of the most important chapters in Porsche history.Running through 2026, the celebration features a rotating collection of pop-up displays and themed events at the Porsche Museum and other locations outside Germany. Instead of putting together a traditional static exhibition, Porsche is focusing on the culture and style that made the 1980s such a memorable time for the automotive world. Neon colors, motorsport heritage, retro designs, and analog driving all play a role in showcasing why Transaxle Porsche models still have a strong following of collectors and enthusiasts decades later. The Transaxle platform itself was a major shift for Porsche. By placing the engine in the front and the transmission at the rear axle, Porsche engineers created a balanced sports car that improved handling and stability for both road and track driving. That formula became the backbone for some of the brand’s most recognizable models, including the Porsche 924, Porsche 928, Porsche 944, and Porsche 968. Together, those four model lines sold nearly 400,000 examples between 1976 and 1995, proving Porsche could successfully move beyond its traditional formula of fitting engines at the rear.Porsche is also using the anniversary to highlight the motorsport side of the Transaxle era, with race cars like the 924 Carrera GTS and 924 GTP Le Mans expected to appear during themed weekends and special events. For longtime collectors and maybe younger enthusiasts discovering these cars for the first time, the anniversary is both a history lesson and a reminder of how influential Porsche’s Transaxle years really were. Manthey Kit Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Sets Nürburgring Record

By Tyler Rampersaud –  May 07, 2026

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Breaks Nürburgring EV Record

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT was unveiled with over 1,000 horsepower as the most powerful and performance-oriented version of the Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric production model. The Taycan Turbo GT not only boasts significant power but also lightweight construction and highly advanced aerodynamics to achieve near-unparalleled performance on the circuit. The Weissach Package dials up the track-focused performance further for the Taycan Turbo GT, but for those who want an even more track-capable vehicle, Manthey Performance will soon offer an optional kit for the car. That Manthey Performance Kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has already proved itself on one of the world’s most demanding circuits: the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Equipped with the Manthey Kit, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT managed to set a new lap record in the Electric Executive Cars category. The kit modifies the car’s wheels and tires, along with revising the aerodynamics and optimizing the software, all with track performance in mind. Porsche development driver Lars Kern was behind the wheel for the record lap, where the Taycan Turbo GT managed to complete the 12.94-mile course, known for its challenging corners and dramatic elevation changes and nicknamed “The Green Hell,” in only 6:55.533 minutes. That lap time eclipsed the previous electric luxury car lap record at the Nordschleife by over nine seconds, and beat the 2023 record that Lars Kern set with the Weissach Package-equipped Taycan Turbo GT by twelve seconds. <- Gallery -> Using the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package as its basis, the Manthey Performance kit revises the power delivery, aerodynamics, and suspension of the vehicle. The driving dynamics systems are adjusted for the lightweight wheels that come with the package, along with Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS tires. Developed in collaboration between the Porsche Development Center in Weissach and Manthey in Meuspath, the results are impressive. Downforce at 124 mph increases with the kit from 209 to 683 pounds, top speed increases from 189 to 192 mph, at which point the Manthey kit produces 1,631 pounds of downforce, and the powertrain adjustments also increase the power output in the standard driving mode and in Attack mode. Thanks to the motorsport-inspired solutions used in the Manthey Performance Kit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, the electric vehicle is setting new standards for performance, not only with immense power, but also with impressive dynamics that can break records on a track like the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The Best Porsche 911 R Specs For Sale Today

By Jordan Aquistapace –  May 06, 2026

The Best Porsche 911 R Specs For Sale Today

When Porsche unveiled the 911 R in 2016, it took a purist approach that instantly captivated collectors and enthusiasts. Borrowing the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six from the GT3 RS, the 911 R delivered 500 horsepower and 338 lb-ft of torque, but it came with something the RS didn't: a six-speed manual transmission. It also shed excess weight and embraced a more understated design, leaving off the aggressive wings and aero bits typically found on Porsche's track-derived GT cars. It was a driver's car through and through, from its launch to its rise as a collector-grade gem. Performance figures told part of Porsche's story: 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Carbon-ceramic brakes, with 16.1-inch rotors up front and 15.4-inch in the rear, helped keep things under control in the corners. But what really made the 911 R special wasn't just the numbers; it was the philosophy. With only 991 examples produced, Porsche made it exclusive by design, offering the first allocations to 918 Spyder owners. Its $185,950 MSRP felt like a bargain once they hit the used market, with many examples quickly commanding prices well north of $500,000. Today, the 911 R remains a modern classic—a rare blend of analog engagement and modern engineering. It marked a turning point when Porsche acknowledged what enthusiasts truly wanted: performance, purity, and a manual gearbox. If you're looking to add one of the most celebrated modern Porsches to your garage, check out some of the best Porsche 911 R examples currently for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking the links below. FAQs Was the Porsche 911 R available in unique colors or options? Yes, the 911 R offered some exclusive color combinations, including heritage-inspired stripes and custom interiors through Porsche's Paint-to-Sample and Exclusive Manufaktur programs. Is the 911 R comfortable for daily driving or long-distance trips? Surprisingly, yes. While it's performance-focused, the 911 R features a more subtle ride setup than the GT3 RS, along with reduced cabin noise and optional leather-trimmed interiors, making it suitable for spirited daily use or weekend road trips. Did the Porsche 911 R come with rear seats? No, Porsche removed the rear seats as part of the weight-saving measures. However, some owners later opted to retrofit lightweight seats if desired. How does the 911 R compare to modern analog-style Porsches like the 911 S/T? The 911 R set the blueprint for future analog driver's cars like the S/T. While the S/T benefits from newer tech and chassis tuning, many purists still consider the 911 R to be the more raw and connected experience. 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Price & Listing 2016 Porsche 911 R View Listing   Buy Searching for a Porsche 911 R to buy? duPont REGISTRY has hundreds of Porsche 911 Rs for sale right now, including some of the rarest ever created. How The Porsche Macan Electric Crossed England’s Morecambe Bay

By Tyler Rampersaud –  May 05, 2026

The Porsche Macan Electric Crossed The Morecambe Bay

Located in the northwest of England, Morecambe Bay is known for its fast tides and quicksand. However, at low tide, crossing the bay by land is possible. However, it’s tricky to do, and requires local guidance. That guidance comes from the King’s Guide to the Sands, a role that has been held since 1548 by 26 different people in an unbroken lineage. The current man on the job is Michael Wilson, who guides travelers across the bay, helping avoid quicksand and protect wildlife, all while keeping an eye on the fast-changing tides. Especially in earlier times, crossing the bay at low tide could save as much as three days during a journey, and today, the “Monk’s Road,” as the public right of way across the bay is called, is defined by the route the Guide leads. All of that made Morecambe Bay the perfect challenge for the Porsche Macan Electric. Challenging almost 10 miles of exposed seabed, the Macan’s all-wheel drive system expertly navigated the wet and somewhat unpredictable terrain, while the low center of gravity of the vehicle helped it remain stable throughout the journey. Equipped with the optional off-road design package, the increased ground clearance also contributed to confidence in the journey. <- Gallery -> During the drive, the shoreline disappears, and the seabed completely surrounds the view. Reaching dry land at the other side of Morecambe Bay, the new Porsche Macan Electric proves its ability to take on centuries-old traverses with cutting-edge technology, electric power, and timeless confidence. Porsche PLÁTICA 2026 Celebrates The Iconic 911 R

Porsche PLÁTICA 2026 Celebrates The Iconic 911 R

The Porsche community has always been defined by a shared respect for the past, present, and future, bringing together passionate owners and purists who celebrate the brand in the best possible way: by driving. And while there’s no shortage of cars & coffee meets and rallies that do exactly that, something different is happening in the mountains of Knoxville, TN, where the team at Harper Porsche has created Porsche PLÁTICA as a cultural experience, where Porsche meets the beauty of art and nature. The annual event, which translates to “Conversation” from Spanish, really made waves throughout the automotive world last year when it organized one of the largest gatherings of Porsche Carrera GTs to celebrate the iconic V10 supercar’s 20th anniversary.  GALLERY-EMBED This past weekend, Porsche PLÁTICA outdid itself yet again, welcoming cars and visitors to a historic marble quarry in the heart of West Knoxville, this year, showcasing the largest lineup of 991-generation Porsche 911 R examples for its 10-year anniversary. Even though the spotlight was on the 911 R, two generations separated by five decades, the entire weekend was driven by all things Porsche, from classic to modern, factory to aftermarket. Alongside a lineup of 30+ 2016 911 R examples, many sourced from names like Graham Rahal Performance and Merit Partners, was a full spectrum of 911s and GT models in nearly every configuration and color imaginable. From paint-to-sample 997 GT3 RS builds courtesy of Ryan Friedman Motorcars to a genuine Porsche 917 and everything in between, calling Porsche PLÁTICA a Porsche mecca almost feels like an understatement. GALLERY-EMBED Driving was the common thread tying all of these cars—and their owners—together, so the weekend naturally included time behind the wheel. Group drives through the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway delivered some of the most scenic and spirited stretches of road in the country, if not the world. The following day, Flatrock Motor Club opened its 3.5-mile circuit to the group, giving nearly every generation and variant of the 911 a chance to stretch its legs, alongside standout appearances from a Porsche 962 and Porsche 962C. Almost too overwhelming to put into words, Porsche PLÁTICA continues to grow into something truly special. With Porsche’s support behind it, the event has quickly established itself as a standout on the calendar, and we can’t wait to see what it evolves into next year.
