How The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT's Tires Are Key To Its Pe...

A record-breaking machine depends on truly excellent tires. Tires are an unsung hero of automotive performance. While powertrains and weight savings are often celebrated as the heroes of blisteringly quick track times, acceleration numbers, and soaring top speeds, tires are often a determining factor when it comes to what a car is capable of. The performance abilities of vehicles are either limited or enhanced by the capabilities of their tires, and in the case of Porsche’s new pinnacle performance EV, the Taycan Turbo GT, the tires were paramount to its record-breaking success. Pirelli provided the bespoke P-Zero Trofeo RS tires that wrap the Taycan Turbo GT’s wheels with the Weissach Package, and the tires were meticulously refined in order to optimize their contribution to the Taycan Turbo GT’s incredible performance. Its dual-layer carcass is specifically made to help the tires withstand the immense power and battery weight of the vehicle, and the multi-compound tread is made for the sudden acceleration that the Turbo GT is capable of. The design of the tire itself was also enhanced with fewer grooves on the outer shoulder of the tread to enhance the contact patch at high speeds, and artificial intelligence was used to assist the design process and reduce the time it took for development. Thanks to the radical innovation put into the bespoke Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo RS tires featured in the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package, the car continues to push the boundaries of electric performance with record-breaking lap times on circuits around the world. Manthey Racing Reveals New Kit For 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Manthey Racing dials the track factor Porsche 911 GT3 RS even further. The new 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is one of the greatest performance cars of today, and within the manufacturer’s lineup, the 911 GT3 RS’s is Porsche’s pinnacle track-focused driver’s car. WIth rear-wheel drive and an amazingly powerful naturally aspirated boxer engine, the new 911 GT3 RS is the ultimate expression of Porsche’s on-track performance abilities and one of the fastest production Porsche models around any circuit. However, Manthey Racing specializes in enhancing the track performance of Porsche cars even further, and through its performance kits made for Porsche’s highest echelon of performance vehicles, Manthey Racing is responsible for shaving seconds off lap times and enhancing a respected legacy of racing excellence. The latest subject of Manthey Racing’s expertise is the new 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and the aggressive new kit leaves no stone unturned when it comes to optimizing performance. With the GT3 RS already boasting highly advanced power, weight savings, and aerodynamics, the new Manthey kit imbues the car with greater cornering speed. This is achieved by modifying the aerodynamics, as well as the suspension and braking. At nearly 180 mph, the car is capable of generating more than a ton of downforce with the kit, which uses a carbon fiber fin inspired by that of the Porsche 963 endurance racing hypercar. At the same time, the semi-active coilover suspension provides greater precision and control, maximizing racetrack stability. Along with the braking improvements seen in the new 992 GT3 RS Manthey kit, the entire package has undergone extensive testing, and Manthey Racing promises significantly improved lap times compared to the standard car. However, weather conditions have stopped Manthey Racing from getting an official lap time result on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the hallowed proving ground where the greatest of performance cars go to truly test their mettle. The kit’s dramatic looks and extensive performance improvements, however, certainly drum up anticipation for what it makes the 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS capable of.
