Porsche Celebrates 1 Year Of Success Since Its IPO

Strong sales, partnership deals, and an ambitious roadmap toward electrification highlight the past year. On this day last year, September 29, 2022, Porsche AG took a historic leap by going public and since then, the German automaker has been in overdrive, setting the standard for success in the luxury automotive market. Celebrating its first anniversary since the IPO, Porsche's leadership has shared enthusiastic insights on the company's progress and future trajectory, making it clear that their initial public offering wasn't just a financial play but a strategy for accelerated growth. Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board, sums it up perfectly, stating that the IPO has granted the brand "greater entrepreneurial freedom and flexibility." By setting its own priorities, Porsche has been more nimble in reacting to market shifts. This dynamism is crucial in today's fast-paced automotive landscape, teeming with disruptive technologies and an ever-evolving consumer demand. One of the significant moves Porsche made post-IPO is establishing key partnerships in the software realm, notably with tech giants like Apple and Mobileye. According to Deputy Chairman Lutz Meschke, these partnerships are foundational for providing unique and unforgettable Porsche experiences in the future. "Forward-looking steps," as Meschke calls them, underscore Porsche's commitment to innovation and customer delight. A testament to its robust business strategy, Porsche also marked its debut on the leading German stock index (DAX) just three months after ringing the stock exchange bell at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Their quick entry to the DAX reaffirmed the capital market's strong confidence in the brand's product strategy and overall business model. Notably, Porsche has repaid that trust, boasting significant gains in Group sales revenue, operating profit, and deliveries within the first six months of 2023. Sustainability and electrification are at the heart of Porsche's future. The company aims for more than 80% of all new cars to be all-electric by 2030. This plan includes transitioning existing model lines to battery electric powertrains from 2024 onwards, and introducing new electric versions of celebrated and popular models like the Macan and the 718, and introducing new models like an upcoming SUV that will be positioned above the iconic Cayenne. This clear roadmap indicates how Porsche is not only committed to meeting customer demands for performance but also global calls for sustainability. The financial markets have shown volatility lately due to various macroeconomic pressures, yet Porsche remains optimistic. The company has confirmed its forecast for the current and subsequent financial years, expecting a Group operating return on sales in the range of 17 to 19 percent by the end of 2023. Considering an expected sales revenue ranging from 40 to 42 billion euros, the brand is even looking towards a possible long-term operating return on sales of over 20%. Overall, Porsche's first year post-IPO has been a tour de force, demonstrating that with the right mix of innovation, partnerships, and customer focus, a traditional luxury brand can successfully steer through modern-day challenges. Whether you're a shareholder or a sports car enthusiast, Porsche AG is unquestionably a brand and a business to keep an eye on. View All Porsches For Sale

Porsche Reveals The New $1M 911 GT3 R rennsport

With 611 horsepower, it's designed for pure track domination. Porsche has always had a reputation for thrilling auto enthusiasts with its high-performance machines. Recently, the brand upped the ante with the release of the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport, a limited edition circuit racing beast that debuted at "Rennsport Reunion 7" in California, the world's largest Porsche event. With only 77 units to be produced, this car is not only a tribute to the illustrious history of Porsche Motorsport but also an advancement in automotive technology. This masterpiece doesn't shy away from showing off its power with an output of up to 611 hp, thanks to its high-revving six-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer engine. But what truly distinguishes it from the rest is its ability to outperform the FIA GT3 competition rules, showing off peak circuit racing ability for those who crave unfiltered driving exhilaration on the racetrack. On the design front, Porsche has left no stone unturned. The body of this race car is a unique blend of modern elements and powerful appearance, making it one of the most visually striking Porsches ever made. Designed by Grant Larson and Thorsten Klein from Style Porsche, the GT3 R rennsport balances function with form in an artful manner. While it stands as a successor to the Porsche 935, it builds upon the latest 911 GT3 R of the 992 generation, extending the car visually and giving it a broader, more menacing stance with a design that's both futuristic and inspired by Porsche's honored racing heritage. The GT3 R rennsport also incorporates state-of-the-art technology in its design. Traditional exterior mirrors have been replaced by an advanced system of three integrated cameras and cockpit monitors. The car even adopts a striking light bar consisting of fine LED strips that incorporate the Porsche lettering, further elevating its overall design. Under the hood, the engineers have explored newfound freedoms beyond FIA restrictions, translating them into a more emotional and technically refined track car. The 4.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine revs up to a breathtaking 9,400 rpm, offering a power output of 145 hp per liter. Porsche hasn't cut corners with fuel technology either. The car has been designed to run on E25 fuels, including bio-ethanol fuels and eFuel, which pave the way for near carbon-neutral operation. The limited edition comes with extended customization options, too. It will be available in seven basic colors and three special designs, offering buyers the opportunity to own a truly unique vehicle. Even the 18-inch BBS wheels are part of the car's exclusive design, meeting all technical requirements of a center-locking competition wheel and painted in Dark Silver Metallic as standard. Pricing for this limited edition track monster starts at $1,046,000, plus transport, options, and applicable taxes. If you're an auto enthusiast with a penchant for exclusive, high-performance track cars that come with a slice of history, the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport should be at the top of your list. After all, with only 77 units available, this is a collector’s item that embodies the finest in automotive engineering, design, and heritage. View All Porsche 911 GT3s For Sale Image Source: Porsche

Porsche Debuts eFuels At Rennsport Reunion 7

At the world's largest Porsche event, classic cars drive towards a sustainably fueled future. As the highly-anticipated Rennsport Reunion begins in California, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) has just announced that eFuels will be fueling both their road and race cars at the highly-anticipated Rennsport Reunion 7. Ready to kick off at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, this marks a groundbreaking moment in the world of high-end and classic automobiles in the United States. So what exactly are eFuels? In a nutshell, they are synthetic fuels derived from water and carbon dioxide, powered by renewable energy. This innovative fuel type enables mostly net CO2 neutral use for combustion engines. What that equates to is fuel for combustion engines that is sustainable for the environment in the long run. Given the global push for sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, eFuels offer a new frontier in climate-conscious driving without compromising on performance, a perfect match for Porsche's illustrious line-up. According to Barbara Frenkel, a member of the Executive Board for Procurement at Porsche AG, eFuels are in line with Porsche's 75-year legacy of “pioneering spirit and strong innovation drive.” Porsche sees eFuels as a crucial step towards climate protection that complements their ongoing focus on electromobility. Essentially, eFuels offer a way to bridge the gap between classic Porsche combustion engines and the electric models of the future. Not only will eFuels power a variety of Porsche demo lap vehicles, but they'll also fuel Cayenne media shuttles and even the prototype 356 number one. Joe Lawrence, the Executive Vice President and COO of PCNA, couldn't be more thrilled about this, stating that Rennsport—known as the largest gathering of Porsche fans globally—is the "perfect place to demonstrate the potential of eFuels in combustion engines." The eFuel initiative isn't a standalone project but rather a part of Porsche’s ‘double e-path’ strategy: E-mobility and eFuels. Porsche has teamed up with international partners and HIF to open the ‘Haru Oni’ pilot plant in Punta Arenas, Chile, which began producing this cutting-edge synthetic fuel in late 2022. The use of eFuels at Rennsport Reunion 7 signals a monumental step in high-performance, sustainable driving. As the automotive industry continues to innovate in the realms of sustainability and luxury, eFuels set a new benchmark for what's possible. View All Porsches For Sale

Porsche Test Driver & Engineer Ronald Kussmaul Turns 80

He spent 40 years doing a car enthusiast's dream job. Porsche is celebrating the 80th birthday of Roland Kussmaul, a test driver and racing engineer who dedicated an incredible four decades to the iconic manufacturer. A stalwart in the automotive racing scene, Kussmaul left an indelible mark on the brand's racing pedigree. His journey with Porsche began in 1969, and his contributions range from developing iconic Cup racing cars to achieving a sixth-place finish in the Paris-Dakar Rally with a Porsche 959 service car. Known for his pragmatism and precision, Kussmaul was more than just a test driver for Porsche; he was an engineer and a visionary. He played a vital role in the development, testing, and optimization of an impressive line-up of vehicles, including the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Safari, 911 GT2, and Carrera GT. He even leaped into the role of technical manager at prestigious events like the East African Safari Rally. Whether it was testing the 908/03 in an endurance drive or spearheading projects like the 924 Carrera GTS, he showcased a rare blend of technical brilliance and hands-on capability. Thomas Laudenbach, Head of Porsche Motorsport, summed it up eloquently: "With his determination, his entrepreneurial thinking, and his courage to try new things, he is a role model for us and stands for qualities that are perhaps more in demand today than ever before." True to that, Kussmaul's work ethos resonates in an era where blending technological innovation with practical application is paramount. One of the highlights of Kussmaul's illustrious career came when he ventured into the rallying world, a domain that fascinated him. "Rally driving fascinated me right from the start because it’s not an uncompromising motorsport," Kussmaul said. He cherished the improvisational nature of rally driving, such as when he and rally legend Björn Waldegård navigated a 15-meter wide river in a 911—purely on instinct and calculated risk. Kussmaul’s influence isn’t limited to the confines of Porsche's test tracks or the thrilling atmosphere of rally races. Walter Röhrl, who drove the 924 Carrera GTS developed by Kussmaul in just two months, describes him as the "best mechanic, engineer, and driver" he's known. Even after retiring on December 31, 2009, Kussmaul continues to serve as a consultant and contemporary witness for the Porsche Heritage and Museum department, reinforcing his lifetime commitment to the brand. In a time when the automotive industry is undergoing rapid transformation, figures like Roland Kussmaul serve as anchors to a legacy of meticulous engineering and daring innovation. As he turns 80, his contributions are a testament to Porsche's unwavering commitment to performance and excellence. View All Porsches For Sale

From the big screen to the biggest Porsche gathering, Transformers' 911 'Mirage' is the star of the show. When it comes to creating buzz in the auto and entertainment industries, nothing does it quite like a mashup of legendary sports cars and iconic action film characters. This September, the Autobot Mirage and its Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 (964) movie car are set to grace the world's largest Porsche gathering, Rennsport Reunion 7, after making a grand appearance in "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts." Fans can feast their eyes on this dynamic duo alongside other Transformers legends like Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal, and even attend a special screening of the blockbuster film. Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing for Porsche Cars North America, couldn't be more thrilled. She commemorates the effort of the Porsche Classic team in restoring the car to functionality post-filming, saying, "It's a significant piece of Porsche history, and there's no better stage than Rennsport Reunion 7 to showcase it." The rarity of the 911 Carrera RS 3.8 can't be overstated, with Porsche producing only 55 units for the entire globe. To protect these vintage gems, the film used five movie set cars that superficially replicate the real deal. An authentic engine sound was recorded from a real 911 RS 3.8 to make the movie as accurate as possible. Each picture car had a unique function, from executing high-speed backward driving to intricate stunts, illustrating the efforts taken to produce a film experience that resonates with movie lovers and automotive enthusiasts. If you're one of the lucky guests attending Porsche's Rennsport Reunion 7 event, make sure to look out for Mirage and the rest of the Transformers crew. Ed Bolian & SWAE Drove Porsche Cayennes 6,000 Miles To Th...

This incredible journey proves the Porsche Cayenne’s mettle yet again. It’s been more than 20 years since the introduction of the Porsche Cayenne, but considering the manufacturer’s 75-year history, the concept remains somewhat novel. At the time of its introduction, it was a radical and controversial vehicle, an SUV surrounded by a lineup of some of the world’s most cherished sports cars. However, it proved a massive success, and one of the cornerstones of Porsche’s brand today.  While many Cayennes are used as family haulers that boast a luxurious and sporty edge, the SUV is also a highly capable vehicle with impressive adventuring ability, and on YouTube, VINWiki proved that with an incredible 6,000-mile expedition. The idea was born from Ed Bolian’s ownership of a Cayenne, originally bought for a “cheap off-roader challenge,” which quickly became one of his favorite cars for its usefulness and charm. After selling that car, Bolian got together with SWAE, a research and design studio in Montana to build four 958-generation Porsche Cayenne Turbos with special liveries. Two went to the Southwest, while two went up to the Arctic for a 6,000-mile round trip. The trip involved challenging terrain, breathtaking landscapes, difficult weather conditions, and a chance to see the Northern Lights. The trip served as a reminder of the joy and importance of exploration and experiencing the world, and despite being from a manufacturer of luxury performance cars for the tarmac, the Porsche Cayenne is an excellent car to adventure with.
