The Limited-Edition REC 901 RWB Rotana, Made Using Actual...

Raw material from these legendary vehicles is punched into watch dials. With customization at the forefront of RAUH-Welt Begriff, build specialist Arika Nakai transforms everyday Porsche 911 examples into aggressively widened conversions. The process of cutting directly into fenders and installing a molded wide body kit takes on an art form in itself, a meticulous craft that shares similarities with modern-day watchmaking. The automotive-inspired watch specialist at REC Watches is proud to continue its partnership with RAUH-Welt Begriff by highlighting the 901 RWB Rotana. MUST-READ: Ernst Benz Launches Its All-New Bespoke Timepiece Program, Matching Watches To Cars The REC 901 RWB Rotana is the newest limited-edition collaboration piece, achieving an appearance that mimics the styling of Nakai’s personal RWB Porsche 911. The 901 RWB Rotana features a 44mm case design made from 316L stainless steel, measuring at 46mm with the matte purple wide body kit. The complex dial design comes directly from the oil temperature/pressure gauge of the Porsche 911, which also displays the time, month, day, date, and power reserve functions. The most unique aspect of the dial is that raw materials from RWB builds are punched into each one, commemorating the extreme journey of alteration. While a turbocharged 6-cylinder drives Nakai’s car, the 901 RWB Rotana is powered by a Miyota cal. 900 mechanical self-winding movement, delivering an impressive 40-hour power reserve. The transparent backcase allows a closer look at the inner workings of the watch through a rotor designed as the same wheels on RWB Rotana. The outer portion of the backcase features numerical engravings that signify each of the 305-pieces in the limited series. REC fits the 901 RWB Rotana with a comfortable black rubber strap that proudly showcases the logo of RAUH-Welt Begriff. The REC 901 RWB Rotana watch is currently available through an authorized dealer for $1,795. Check back into duPont REGISTRY for more upcoming luxury watch news and releases. Porsche Recounts The Challenges Of Turning Project "Color...

Two decades into its amazing life, the story of the Porsche Cayenne is already a legend. At a time when Porsche’s future was uncertain, the brand took a big risk and created something that was a great departure from what the brand was known for decades: an SUV. What resulted was the Porsche Cayenne, a vehicle that sent shockwaves through the entire automotive industry and rewrote the rulebook for what a sports car and a luxury car could be. However, being something so radically different than Porsche’s usual sports cars, the design journey of the Cayenne was an interesting one. The biggest challenge was in communicating that the Cayenne, despite being an SUV, was a Porsche. MUST READ: Porsche Centre Perth Hosts The World’s Largest Taycan Owners Meet In Australia Porsche set out to make the Cayenne an SUV that served its client flawlessly both on and off the road. It needed to fit five passengers and luggage, and have ground clearance fit for unpaved journeys. Along with a large V8 engine, mounted in the front of the car, the concept of the Cayenne was quite alien to Porsche. To make it look like a distinguished Porsche, one of the requirements was for the front end to strikingly resemble the 911. The headlights of the first Cayenne, which are higher than the hood and in the same shape as the 911 of the time, do this job. The doors, which were shared with the Volkswagen Touareg that was developed simultaneously with the Cayenne, were the biggest challenge for the team as they took up most of the side of the car, and had to look as though they were made for both models. The Touareg and the Cayenne sharing resources also presented challenges in the interior, where Porsche had to develop a new instrument cluster to accommodate the traditional five-tube design Porsche is known for, but overcoming all of these challenges was well worth the effort, as the Cayenne remains 20 years later one of the most important pieces of Porsche’s history. Porsche puts on the largest and quietest Taycan car meet. At the root of the gathering is the Porsche Taycan, originally released in 2019 as the first full-electric platform from the German automotive manufacturer. The Taycan lineup now expands to an array of configurations that present more opportunities within the EV world, blending comfort, performance, and technological aspects that improve the quality of driving. Porsche Celebrates Collector Harry Metcalfe And His Belov...

The Farmer continues his daily duties, while running his popular 'Harry's Garage' YouTube channel. For all car enthusiasts, there is a specific model that holds a special place like the one that started the passion and fascination for anything automotive. While most agree that it would be a poster car like the Ferrari F40 or Lamborghini Countach, for British Farmer Harry Metcalfe, the Porsche 930 Turbo S stands at the pinnacle of his love of cars. Now recognized as a successful automotive YouTube star with more than 500,000 subscribers, Metcalfe began his life as an aspiring engineer born into a family of hardworking farmers. Before starting ‘Harry’s Garage’, the 63-year-old spent all his time running a 122-hectare farm in the English countryside while dedicating a small portion of his earnings to his car collection. MUST-READ: The Best Porsches You Can Buy Today Harry’s obsession for collecting cars came with the purchase of his first Porsche, a black 993 generation 911 Turbo used solely as a daily driver after co-funding Evomagazine in1998. The hobby of acquiring rare Porsche examples quickly became a second profession, as British motoring press caught wind of his growing garage that now included an early Porsche 930 and another 993 Turbo converted to a GT2 spec. After searching for the perfect example to compliment his fleet, Harry Metcalfe finally found a unique 1998 Porsche 911 Turbo in late 2021 courtesy of the carmaker’s Sonderwunsch personalization program. The Guardsred 930 Turbo S featured a Group-4-inspired front spoiler with an updated oil cooler, quad exhausts, and the seats and steering wheel from a 959. The car also left the factory with 17-inch RUF alloys and a 3.4-liter Motorsport engine making more than 400 horsepower. The newest addition to Harry Metcalfe’s collection now holds the title of his prized possession, even making an appearance on Harry’s Garage during a 1,250-mile road trip through southern Europe. Harry Metcalfe explains his love for the Porsche 930 Turbo S by stating “You can chase perfect handling or refinement, but sometimes the car you actually want to own is the one with the quirky nature.” View all of the current Porsche 911 Turbo S examples for sale on duPont REGISTRY by clicking on the link below. This Lightweight Porsche 992 911 Turbo S Preps For The 20...

The Porsche looking to showcase its factory performance at Pikes Peak. Defining itself as one of the most challenging sprint circuits in motorsport history, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb continues to push manufacturers and teams to the limit of performance. This year proves to be special for the annual 12.42-mile uphill expedition, as drivers will be participating in the 100th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. One of the daring drivers looking to take on the mountainous twists and turns is David Donner, a three-time King of the Mountain who is aiming to set the production car record behind the wheel of a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S. Knowing his way around a Porsche, Donner previously teamed up with Porsche collector Jim Edwards and 000 editor Pete Stout to win the Pikes Peak 2020 Time Attack 1 class in a 911 GT2 RS Clubsport. MUST-READ: Porsche Carrera GT in Rosso Fuoco for Sale The track weapon for Donner and his team is a 2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S that went straight from a showroom floor to the race shop for competition preparation. The livery of the once stock exterior presents a ‘Print isn’t Dead’ theme, which incorporates vibrant colors and magazine graphics that pay homage to the early marketing efforts of Porsche. While the brand new 911 Turbo S lightweight package sheds 80-pounds, all 640 horsepower will harness extra torque to beat the previous 10-minute and 18.488-seconds record set by a Bentley Continental GT in 2019. David Donner preps to take on the 2022 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 26th, so stay tuned to see if the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo S takes the new title as the fastest production car to take on the uphill race. 2022 Azure Blue 911 GTS America 001 DSC06711

By Tyler Rampersaud –  June 13, 2022

The New Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America Edition...

The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America edition continues one of Porsche’s most iconic American traditions. In 1952, Porsche introduced the 356 America Roadster, an open-top driver’s Porsche made exclusively for the North American market that captures the spirit of American driving. The tradition continued 30 years ago with the 964 America Roadster, and it continues yet again 70 years after it began with the 992 generation of the Porsche 911, with the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America edition. Staying true to the ethos of the America-named Porsche’s being driver’s cars, it exclusively comes available with rear-wheel drive and with a 7-speed manual transmission. MUST READ: PUMA x Porsche Launch The New Suede RS 2.7 Sneaker Collection, Limited to Only 500 Pairs With 473 horsepower and 420 lb/ft of torque coming from the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-6 engine, along with Porsche Active Suspension Management, Sport Exhaust, and optionally available Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes and rear-axle steering make it a modern performance machine that honors classic driving tradition. The color, inspired by both the 1953 356 America Roadster, and the American flag itself, features a recreation of the 356 America Roadster’s Azure Blue, as well as white and Guards Red accents. The American-themed accents continue in the black leather interior, including “America” embossing on the armrest, and Guards Red seatbelts. Only 16 examples of the 356 America Roadster were made, making it one of the rarest 356 editions ever, and Porsche says that the new 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America edition will be one of the rarest 992 911s in kind. It’s expected to arrive at U.S. dealers in late 2022, starting at $184,920 for the 2023 model year. View All Porsche 911s For Sale Source: Porsche

20 Years Later, The Cayenne Is One Of The Most Important ...

What started as a way to save a brand in trouble became one of its most legendary successes. All the way back in 1989, Ferry Porsche predicted that an off-road Porsche would be a success, and that prediction quickly became something Porsche would depend on when the brand saw some of its worst financial trouble in the mid-90s. The Porsche Boxster, the mid-engined sports car that eventually gave way to the Cayman and now the entire 718 range, alleviated some of this trouble in 1996, but it quickly became clear that the Boxster wouldn’t get Porsche out of the woods alone. That’s when the idea came about to make an SUV for the North American market, which was quite receptive to SUVs at the time. MUST READ: The Best Porsche 911s You Can Buy Today Developed in conjunction with the Volkswagen Touareg, the Cayenne and Touareg would have separate chassis setups and engines on the same platform. This ensured that even though the platform would be shared with Volkswagen, the Porsche Cayenne had a unique character, and even though it was an SUV, it was very much a Porsche. 20 years ago in 2002, the Cayenne was brought onto the road, and the result was an explosive success and what remains to be one of Porsche’s highest-selling models to this day, a luxurious, sporty, and dynamic SUV that distilled Porsche’s driving character and put it into an entirely new form. From the Cayenne, the even sportier Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S blossomed with more power and performance, as well as Porsche’s first hybrid, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid in 2010, which used a full hybrid system rather than a power-split hybrid that offered pure electric driving range and not only increased efficiency but also performance. Today, the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid improved on this foundation to be an incredibly formidable luxury performance SUV, able to get from 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds. The Cayenne also served as the base for rallying Porsches, and also the defiantly sporty Cayenne GTS. The Cayenne immediately became a success, delivering 35,000 examples each year in the first 8 years rather than the expected 25,000, and in 2020, the millionth Cayenne rolled off the assembly line, with over 80,000 Cayennes being sold in 2021. After 20 years, the Cayenne is still one of the most important Porsche models ever; it didn’t just save the brand, it changed it for the better. View All Porsche Cayennes For Sale Source: Porsche
