Rolls-Royce Celebrates America's 250th Birthday With Three Bespoke Commissions

Rolls-Royce Celebrates America's 250th Birthday With Three Bespoke Commissions

For over a century, the United States has played a pivotal role in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It remains the only country outside of England to have ever manufactured Rolls-Royce cars, with its Springfield, Massachusetts, factory producing for American buyers in the early twentieth century. Today, those Springfield-built Rolls-Royce examples have carved out a niche in the collector car world, representing a defining moment in the marque’s history. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated the 250th anniversary of the United States by unveiling three bespoke builds in the nation’s capital as part of an exclusive event.Led by Sir Christian Turner KCMG, British Ambassador to the United States, at his residence in Washington, D.C., the guest list included leaders from government, diplomacy, and the automotive industry. The real stars of the evening proved to be three exclusively handcrafted commissions hailing from the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England, drawing inspiration from the colors of the American flag. The three flagship models chosen to represent Rolls-Royce for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity are the Cullinan, Phantom, and Ghost. The collection includes a Bohemian Red Cullinan, symbolizing the strength, courage, and entrepreneurial spirit that have shaped the country for generations; an English White Phantom, inspired by America's founding ideals, timeless and enduring pursuit of excellence; and an Iguazu Blue Ghost, embodying optimism and the limitless horizons that continue to define the American spirit. Instead of applying patriotic colors, Rolls-Royce took a more thoughtful approach, using personalization to tell the story of the United States through three iconic.   All in all, the celebration honors more than the three one-off examples; it solidifies the connection between America and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. North America remains the marque's largest global market, with more bespoke commissions delivered to American clients than any other region worldwide. Rolls-Royce Honors A 1906 TT Victory With The New Black Badge Ghost Tourist Trophy

By Tyler Rampersaud –  June 17, 2026

Rolls-Royce Unveils New Black Badge Ghost Tourist Trophy

While Rolls-Royce is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated manufacturers in the entire automotive industry, motorsport isn’t typically discussed as one of the brand’s fortes. However, Rolls-Royce does have a racing feat to its name: a victory at the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, achieved by The Hon. Charles Stewart Rolls in 1906. Today, Rolls-Royce is celebrating the 120th anniversary of that achievement with a new bespoke commission of the Black Badge Ghost, called the Black Badge Ghost Tourist Trophy. In 1906, Charles Rolls and his riding mechanic, Eric Platford, drove a Light 20 H.P. Rolls-Royce in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, which consisted of four laps of the Isle of Man course. The route was the Highroads course, shortened to 40.38 miles, and with four laps of racing, speed and precise driving had to be combined with strategic fuel use, endurance, and mechanical reliability. Rolls started the race in fourth and was leading by the end of the first lap. For the final lap, Rolls was ten minutes ahead of the competition and finished the race in four hours and six minutes with an average speed of 39.4 mph. Just over a pint of fuel was left in the car at the end of the race, and the victory was a defining moment in the trajectory of Rolls-Royce as a manufacturer, resulting in the ultra-luxurious and prestigious brand we know today. <- Gallery -> Now, the new Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Tourist Trophy has been commissioned to honor that car, and as such, it features a Dark Emerald exterior color, with a single Tan Coachline, and a hand-painted number 4 in Arctic White, a reference to the number of laps and Rolls’ starting position. The interior features black leather and Black Badge technical fiber, which is contrasted by tan leather accents and Moccasin lambswool carpeting. The outline of the Isle of Man Short Highroads Course can be seen on the rear waterfall, and other details include engravings of the registration number AX157, the chassis number 26350B, the date of the race, 27.09.1906, and the coordinates of the start/finish line, 54˚09’27.1” N 4°29’ 54.7” W. Illuminated treadplates with the chassis number of the winning car complete the stunning bespoke commission. Created as a private archive, the new Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Tourist Trophy is a stunning celebration of a historic motorsport victory for Rolls-Royce, showing the impressive diversity of excellence seen within the heritage of one of the world’s most desirable automotive luxury manufacturers. Rolls-Royce Unveils New Black Badge Ghost "Gamer"

Rolls-Royce interprets the gaming world with its signature sense of opulence. Rolls-Royce, and especially the creations of its Rolls-Royce Bespoke artisans and craftspeople, is known for creating some of the most intricately designed and uncompromisingly luxurious vehicles in the entire automotive industry. Whether those are ultra-exclusive limited series of Rolls-Royce models meant to celebrate a milestone or a cultural moment, or personal commissions that offer an outlet for expression or tell a family story through stunning design, Rolls-Royce Bespoke commissions are some of the most incredible vehicles in the world. The latest is the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Gamer, a unique commission created for a client whose love for old-school arcade video games served as the main inspiration for the car. The iconic imagery of 8-bit ‘80s video games can be seen throughout the stunning bespoke commission, and designers employed incredibly creative solutions to showcase the client’s love for arcade games. The exterior features a two-tone finish, combining Salamanca Blue and Crystal over Diamond Black. A motif created by Rolls-Royce Bespoke designers, the “Cheeky Alien” is seen on the exterior, hinting at the stunning bespoke design inside. That interior suite features the same motif embroidered on the headrests, with the two front seats featuring “Player 1” and “Player 2” embroidery, as well. The pixelated embroidery throughout echoes the designs of 8-bit games, with the rear waterfall also echoing that design. Meanwhile, a custom “Pixel Blaster” Starlight Headliner design turns the car’s ceiling into a painstakingly replicated design of a classic ‘80s arcade game. The interior design is completed with custom treadplates featuring classic arcade gaming phrases completed in the same pixelated lettering that is seen throughout: ‘PRESS START’, ‘LOADING…’, ‘LEVEL UP’, and ‘INSERT COIN’. Overall, the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost "Gamer" commission is both an ultra-luxurious bespoke oasis and an ode to a classic retro pastime. Miami Beach Police Welcome A Rolls-Royce Ghost To Its Dep...

Miami Beach PD just got a serious upgrade. With police fleets getting upgraded with high-performance squad cars that often pack more power than the cars they're chasing, the days of superspeeders believing they can outrun the law are gone. It's an innovative idea that the Dubai Police have embraced since starting its exotic car collection with a Lamborghini Aventador in 2013. Since then, Dubai has accumulated a lineup that now features a Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Ferrari F12, Lotus Eletre R, McLaren MP4-12C, Audi R8, Porsche 911, Mercedes-AMG G-Wagon, Porsche Panamera, BMW I8, and Maserati Gran Turismo. Bringing the same idea state side is the Miami Beach Police Department, who just unveiled a custom Rolls-Royce Ghost as the newest addition to its squad for promotional purposes. The partnership comes courtesy of the automotive specialists at Braman Motorcars, who sponsored and outfitted the $350K+ luxury car with all the nesscary lights and functions for it to start its first shift on South Beach.  As part of its role as a member of the MBPD recruitment team, Miami Beach PD and Braman Motorcars revealed the Ghost with a video welcoming its newest member with a motorcade. Even wrapped in a custom matte black and white interceptor livery with Miami Beach PD and Braman Miami logos, the Rolls-Royce most definitely stands out from the rest of the regular service fleet. The Rolls-Royce Ghost takes a top spot as one of the most luxurious and practical cars, offering both comfort and performance in a spacious four-door comfiguration. The Ghost even packs a punch under the hood with Rolls-Royce's 6.75-liter turbocharged V12 generating more than 563 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. And while you can almost guarantee that no perps will ever see the back of this squad car, its easy to admit that it would be the most comfortable ride. This New Rolls-Royce Private Collection Is Inspired By Th...

The ultra-luxury automotive experience is limited to just 25 masterpieces. Rolls-Royce has always been synonymous with unparalleled luxury and sophistication. But their latest reveal, the Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection, takes this concept to a cosmic level. Limited to just 25 examples, this highly Bespoke collection draws its inspiration from the celestial event of a solar eclipse. In doing so, Rolls-Royce engineers and artisans have woven the drama, spectacle, and mystery of this astronomical marvel into every inch of these vehicles. The exterior of each Ghost Ékleipsis is an artwork in itself. Its Lyrical Copper color contains a powdered copper pigment that shifts from darkness to iridescent brilliance, depending on how the light catches it. Details like Mandarin inserts beneath the iconic Pantheon Grille and hand-painted coachlines serve as a tribute to the solar eclipse's awe-inspiring phases. Once inside, the cabin shows off a bespoke, detailed, and expertly crafted finish. The animated Starlight Headliner offers a sense of theater, darkening and lighting up in a mesmerizing sequence that replicates the solar eclipse. An impressive 940 'stars' represent the corona during totality, surrounded by an additional 192 stars that emulate the otherworldly phenomenon of seeing stars during the day. Engineered to precision, this extraordinary feature took over a year and three prototypes to perfect. But the celestial narrative doesn't end there. The fascia, illuminated and adorned with 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars,’ is a showpiece timeline of a solar eclipse, painstakingly designed over 100 hours. To crown it all, the fascia also holds a Bespoke timepiece inset with a half-carat diamond, evoking the rare 'Diamond Ring' effect seen during an eclipse. It's the first time Rolls-Royce has integrated a gemstone into a clock’s bezel, and it passed rigorous tests to ensure its secure placement. The pièce de résistance? The Panoramic Sunset bi-colored and perforated leather seats that encapsulate the 360-degree twilight effect experienced during the eclipse’s totality. Over 200,000 individual perforations create a visually staggering effect, achieved through computational design tools and refined manually over seven iterations. Every one of these 25 masterpieces has already been allocated to some of the marque’s most esteemed clients worldwide. With the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection, Rolls-Royce has eclipsed conventional definitions of luxury, delivering an automotive experience that is truly out of this world. Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Revealed: Big Power, Carbo...

Since its introduction in 2009, the Rolls-Royce Ghost has been one of the British carmaker's best-selling models. 2020 saw the introduction of the Ghost's highly-anticipated second generation, boasting significant power, tech, and luxury improvements. However, Rolls-Royce has just announced the latest version of its most sinister-looking model, the Ghost Black Badge.  The new Rolls-Royce Black Badge receives significant updates to both its chassis and drivetrain. For starters, the 6.75-liter V12 under the hood now develops 591 hp and 665 lb-ft of torque, a modest increase from the standard model's 563 hp and 627 lb-ft output. The ZF eight-speed transmission also receives a unique tune to sharpen up the Ghost's performance.  Additionally, the Black Badge also gets a unique exhaust system that will allow it to stand out compared to the "standard" model. The Black Badge gets larger air springs to eliminate body roll when driving quickly to ensure greater performance. As a result, the Ghost Black Badge may be one of the best-driving models the brand has produced. From an aesthetics perspective, the Black Badge wears a unique shade of black paint. According to Rolls-Royce, it applies over 100 lb of paint onto the car to achieve its deep finish. It then receives two layers of clear coat before a team of four polishes it by hand. As if that wasn't complex enough, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge also gets a unique set of 21-inch wheels, which sports carbon-fiber barrels with up to 22 layers of carbon fiber folded onto itself to create a total of 44 layers.  As of writing, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge is available to order at your local dealership. However, we don't have exact pricing for the U.S. Please make sure to check out all of the latest Rolls-Royce models available for sale below. All Rolls-Royces For Sale Source: Rolls-Royce
