Shelby 427 Cobra Price, Specs, and Photos
Icons like this don't come often. There are few cars in the world like the Shelby Cobra. It's a car that defined an era of performance and continues to be just as loved today, if not even more, than it was in its youth. It has great performance, even decades later by today's standards, stunningly beautiful classic looks, and, most importantly, the Shelby Cobra appeals to a pure, visceral sense of driving pleasure that will always be timeless. It's for those reasons that today, we see countless replicas, as well as cars that were created with the Shelby Cobra as their inspiration, all seeking to capture the same essence of performance, elegance, driving joy, and icon status. For a car that so perfectly embodies the definition of a driver's car, it's almost a shame that the Shelby Cobra car is as rare as it is. However, its rarity makes it a beautiful and exclusive piece that is all the more collectible and desirable. With a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds and a top speed of 160 mph, that would be able to keep up with many modern performance cars, rarity and collectibility are far from the only reasons people love the Shelby Cobra. It's one of the greatest performance cars of its day, and the innovations and dedication that went behind making that car as dynamic and powerful as it is are ones that helped the entire industry and world of cars, and especially performance cars, go to new heights and dive head first into the future. The Shelby Cobra has a look that is recognizable just about anywhere. It has classic sports car appeal, and it's a roadster with timeless proportions that are hard not to love. One great aspect of Shelby Cobra ownership is that the car's iconic shape is something that even people who have never heard of the Cobra Shelby would recognize and appreciate as a beautiful classic sports car. If you're looking for an iconic, classic, and legendary car that's a great investment, a thrill to drive and has the potential to be the star of a car collection, the Shelby Cobra is hard to beat. Image Source: Shelby Shelby 427 Cobra Price If you wanted a car capable of winning the world's toughest races, the Shelby 427 Cobra was one of the most affordable. However, when it was new in 1966, it was priced well above any other American car. This served to cover the intense engineering costs and keep it away from inexperienced drivers. Today, an unrestored original Shelby 427 Cobra for sale will start at over one million dollars. A question we often hear is: "How much is a Shelby Cobra, and why?" The biggest determinant is supply versus demand. As these cars get older, inevitably a few will be lost to the ages for any number of reasons. Because there were only 998 Cobras built by Shelby American, to call them scarce is an understatement. For a long time, the AC Cobra was priced proportionally to their Big Block brothers. The team delivered 655 AC Cobras riding on leaf springs with Small Block power. At the time of press, the 289 Shelby Cobra price is just shy of one million dollars. AC Cobra prices have stayed under seven figures because of continuation cars, so they will likely remain less valuable than the 427 for quite some time. When you consider that the car was first released for $7,500, it is a great investment. Recently, a 1966 Shebly 427 Cobra was sold at auction through Gooding & Company for $1,050,000. That example was chassis CSX 3192, which was auctioned off at their 2022 Amelia Island Auction. This price is a sign of the increasing value that is being found for the rare Shelby Cobra, solidifying its spot as an investment vehicle. So, to answer the aforementioned question, Shelby Cobra's original prices were expensive for their time, which limited the supply. Six decades later, the Shelby Cobra 427 price represents a car and an automaker that tugs at the heartstrings of all automotive enthusiasts. Image Source: Shelby Shelby 427 Cobra Review The 427 Cobra began life in England as the AC Ace in 1953. It was initially offered with leaf spring suspension and an anemic straight-six. Carroll Shelby was a racer who wanted to take on the world. Ford supplied their 289 V8, and the combination was christened the 1965 Cobra. Small block Cobras are fun, but there is a limit to their power. So, after a few experiments with the 390 Big Block, Ford realized the potential of the 427 Shelby Cobra horsepower. Starting from scratch, the chassis was made of 4" steel tubing instead of 3". Coil springs replaced the leaves, and a massive radiator was used to keep the beast cool. It turns well for an old car, but you really feel the 600-lb engine as the center of gravity. Being so nose-heavy, plan your maneuvers well in advance and be ready for adversity. A 5-point harness and a helmet are recommended. Considering the original AC Cobra prices reflect their leaf-spring chassis, the coil-spring design that underpins every 427 Cobra makes it much more confident on less-than-ideal pavement. Image Source: Shelby Shelby 427 Cobra Specs Nothing beats the feeling of a 427 Shelby Cobra specs. That is because it has a massive engine while only weighing 2,355 lbs. Depending on differential ratios, the nominal Shelby 427 Cobra's top speed is 160 mph. Surprisingly quick for the era, most Shelby 427 Cobra 0-60 is 3.4 seconds. Price: $1,500,000 Engine: Ford 427 (7-Liter) V8 Transmission: 4-speed Manual Horsepower: 360hp Torque: 419 lb-ft 0-60: 3.4 seconds 1/4 Mile: 12.2 seconds @ 118 mph Top Speed: 160 mph Image Source: Shelby Shelby 427 Cobra Engine When purchasing a Shelby Cobra for sale, you receive a capable chassis wrapped around a monster engine. The Shelby 427 Cobra engine was designed for racing and heavy-duty environments. Known as the "Side Oiler," Ford added an oil gallery on the driver's side to feed the crank bearings first and cam bearings second. Known as priority oiling, it kept the bottom end cooler than competitors. While the Shelby 427 Cobra competition models used aggressive camshafts, the showroom model was very conservative. It is a hydraulic flat tappet with a 500 lift and only 78 degrees of overlap. This allowed the 427 Cobra's mpg to be on par with other exotics of the era. The engine and its condition can make or break the 427 Shelby Cobra, so make sure the numbers match those stored in the Shelby Cobra CSX registry. Perhaps the rarest aspect of the Shelby Cobra 427 engine is that some were larger than reported. Considering Ford was supplying the side-oiler 427 to many teams, Shelby American was forced to deliver cars with the larger 428 Cobra Jet V8. Nevertheless, it received Shelby's custom camshaft along with a carburetor, intake, and tuned distributor. Considering it is only 1 cubic inch larger, it hasn't caused much division among those looking for a Shelby 427 Cobra engine. Shelby 427 Cobra Transmission Much like most performance cars of the era, the 427 was only available with a manual transmission. Ford's Top Loader 4-speed is reputed for reliability, and the hydraulic clutch linkage was easy to modulate. Beefy synchros can be felt through the shifter, and the close ratios make it easy to drive without using the clutch. Late-model Ford transmissions offer five and six speeds for those who desire closer ratios. Adding one or two overdrive gears to your Shelby 427 Cobra transmission is a stealthy way to make the car more livable on the highway and more fun when driving deep into triple-digit speeds (responsibly, of course). Image Source: Shelby Shelby 427 Cobra Interior Aside from adding carpet, the original Cobra interior was carried over from the AC Ace. It offers two leather seats without headrests, a massive wood steering wheel, all necessary gauges, and an ignition switch. A rollover hoop was optional for the driver. Designed for the average Englishman in the early '50s, it is a tight squeeze for many. An offset pedal box and lack of a roof are common grievances. Shelby 427 Cobra Brakes Prototypes of the AC all had inboard brakes. This offered the lowest unsprung weight possible. It was a costly system, so Carroll chose traditional disc brakes by Girling. Much lighter than drums of the day, it allowed the Ford Shelby Cobra weight to be under 2,400 lbs. Given the Shelby Cobra top speed of 160 mph, it was nice to know you had world-famous brakes at each corner. Given the size of the original Cobra brakes, they tend to fade in hot weather. Shelby and his team solved this by changing the entire spindle in the pit lane. Modern metallurgy has improved the original design to the point it is no longer an issue. However, should you wish to add safety, larger disc brakes can be made to fit under the original wheels of your Shelby Cobra. Shelby 427 Cobra Standout Features There are many standout features on the Shelby 427 Cobra that make it such a unique sports car. Upfront is the round headlights that are separated by a massive grille. When you see this front end from a distance, you can easily tell that it's a Cobra. Along the sides are exhaust pipes that the Cobra is known for. When getting out of the car, however, you just have to be careful not to burn yourself on these after a spirited drive. Another standout feature is the muscular arches found over the wheels that give the Cobra a very pronounced silhouette. Perhaps the most copied car of all time, the Shelby 427 is offered by a dozen companies that offer reproductions. One reason is that the price of an authentic Shelby AC Cobra is unreachable by the average enthusiast. Every original Cobra has a unique 4-digit code. Starting with the first production car, "CSX 2000", every authentic car is known as a CSX Cobra. Carroll Shelby and his team kept incredible records of each car, so validating a Shelby Cobra CSX number is as easy as a phone call. A real Shelby Cobra is worth a fortune in any condition, while Cobra car replicas rise and fall with the market. Superformance 289 Slabside Cobra The first — and arguably prettiest — of the Cobras is known as the Slabside. The Slabside Cobra gets its unusual appellation from its lack of fender flares. This is arguably the purest version of the Cobra formula of a big American engine in a tiny British sports car. The slabside is easy to spot thanks to its lack of a hood scoop and a rear exit, undercar exhaust. Also notable is the fact that the Slabside has both bumpers and bumperettes. It’s a low, elegant car, and thanks to its more balanced attitude due to its smaller engine, it’s a pleasure to drive. That fun and easygoing demeanor makes the Slabside a favorite for those owners who plan to do a great deal of touring or other extended drives. It’s a relatively comfortable car and thanks to its solid little engine, a dead reliable one as well. Shelby Cobra 289 FIA When Carroll Shelby decided to take the Cobra racing in Europe, specifically at Le Mans, he ran into a few snags with the FIA or Federation Internationale de l’Automobile. Their rules at the time mandated that all cars competing at Le Mans be equipped with a speedometer, something that was (and remains) typically omitted in race cars. Shelby protested but when he found the FIA unwilling to budge on the subject, he installed a speedometer way over on the passenger side of the dash where it would be nearly unreadable to the driver. The FIA also mandated that the trunk be able to hold a suitcase, which the Cobra was unable to do. Shelby’s solution to this was to put a suitcase into the trunk and smash the lid down so the corners would dent out the soft aluminum decklid. He then had his team bang out what would become known as the car’s dimples so the suitcase would just barely fit. There were other practical concerns, too, such as adding a roll hoop and wider tires. Of course, wider tires necessitated fender flares and fender flares are universally cool. The FIA Cobra also features an undercar exhaust, but this time, it exits to the side directly in front of the rear wheels. Wider tires came with bigger wheels and, thus, better brakes. Better brakes demand more cooling, and so they added ducting. The FIA Cobra, with its screaming 289 and race car looks, remains an incredibly popular choice for Superformance buyers who are looking for the ultimate driving experience. Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster Eventually, though, Carroll Shelby got the idea that what the Cobra needed was more power, so he somehow managed to shoehorn a 427 cubic inch Ford V8 into the Cobra body. The fenders swelled and the proportions grew in order to wrap around that massive engine. The first 427 that came along was the Roadster. These cars lacked the 289 FIA car’s race car touches, so gone were the hood scoop and roll bar. The 427 Roadster added creature comforts like an ashtray and a glove box. It still had an undercar exhaust, and like the original slab side, it exited at the rear of the car. It also retained the slab-side’s rear bumper. Superformance MkIII The Cobra that most people think of when they think of Cobras is the outrageously muscular and intense-looking 427 S/C. This car, with its exaggerated curves, big side pipes, and hood scoop, leaves no mystery as to what its ultimate purpose is. The 427 S/C comes equipped with coilover suspension to help manage the added weight that came with the move to the larger engine and tame some of the car's wayward handling characteristics. The S/C also loses the Roadster’s ashtray and rear bumper. It comes with a roll hoop for safety and not much else. This is the ultimate expression of the Cobra formula, and there is nothing on the road that comes even close to driving one of these quickly on a race track or in a canyon. Original Cobras of any type are rare and essentially priceless now. The fact is that Carroll Shelby simply didn’t build that many in the grand scheme of things. The great thing about a company like Superformance is that they’ve made the cars accessible and they’ve done it in a way that doesn’t compromise quality or the driving experience. The Superformance continuation cars are so close to the originals that Mr. Shelby himself even gave them his seal of approval. Even if you don’t want to stick exactly to the original specs, Superformance is happy to help you modify your Cobra to be the car of your dreams, and registering the cars is easier now than ever before thanks to the Superformance-backed Low Volume Manufacturers Bill, which makes getting a title and registration simple no matter what state you’re in. The Shelby Cobra is an essential piece of Americana. It represents one man’s quest to build the best with the least and it changed the course of automotive history forever. Seeing one on the road is always special but seeing one in your garage is better still. Give Superformance a call and make your Cobra dreams come true. 1993-2002 Toyota Mk4 Supra Price, Specs, Photos & Review
The Toyota Supra, a Japanese sports car that has left an indelible mark on automotive history, continues to captivate the hearts of enthusiasts even to this day. Originally introduced as a mere trim level in 1978, it underwent several transformations over four generations before emerging as its own distinct model. However, it was from 1993 to 2002 that the Supra truly solidified its legendary status, with the Mk4 Supra standing out as a true marvel of engineering prowess. Offering a plethora of customizable options such as turbocharged engines, manual or automatic transmissions, and even a sports roof variant, the Supra became synonymous with personalized driving experiences. Yet beyond its performance capabilities lay another facet that contributed to its enduring popularity: financial viability. During its prime years, one could acquire a fully-equipped Mk 4 Supra for approximately $40,000—an investment that would prove exceedingly fruitful in today's market. Consequently, collectors and enthusiasts alike now regard this vehicle not only as an object of admiration but also as a lucrative asset. But what exactly accounts for this particular model's timeless allure? Is it the awe-inspiring straight-six engine or perhaps the increasingly rare analog driving experience it offers in our digital age? Let us delve into intricate details to unravel why the Toyota Supra remains an everlasting classic cherished by many. View All Toyota Supras For Sale Toyota Supra Mk4 Price If one Japanese sports car could define a decade, it would have to come from Toyota. Their flagship of the 1990s was the Toyota Supra. What began as a trim level in 1978 evolved through 4 generations to become its own model. The Toyota Supra's price depended on three options. First was your choice of turbo or naturally aspirated. Number 2 is an automatic or manual transmission. The third is a hardtop or sports roof. The Toyota Supra specs included the option for a removable targa top. A well-optioned Mark 4 Toyota Supra Price would reach $40,000, a fraction of what they sell for now. In fact, the Supra Mk4 price has exponentially shot up over the years, easily reaching over $100,000 for an example in great condition, but there are also plenty of used examples that can come in below the $100k depending on the condition and modifications. Additionally, it wouldn't be surprising to find Mk4 Supras that have had their powertrains heavily modified, especially in the turbocharger department. Toyota Supra Mk4 Review Others will tell you to keep in mind the Mk4 Toyota Supra is over two decades old. Sure, it was designed at the end of the 1980s, but the Mark 4 Supra is still competitive today. For the sake of brevity, we will focus on the Toyota Supra Turbo price. Each example was powered by a 3.0L straight-six engine. Because of the sequential compressors, a low RPM boost is easily built by using the brake pedal to pressurize the intake. Steering is properly weighted, and the bias is perfect for holding a drift. The Toyota Supra's horsepower of 321 hp might seem low by today's standards, but the actual output of the engine was much higher. Driving the car is an analog experience. There are no complicated screens to navigate or distract you. Listen to the intake and exhaust, and watch your boost gauge shift at the right time. The MK4 Supra price is truly rewarding. Toyota Supra Mk4 Specs: Known as the 2JZ-GTE, this formidable contender has been swapped into almost every make and model. This Toyota Supra engine is rated at 321 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, but we will dissect that a little later. This allowed the MK4 Supra's top speed to be 177 mph, but it was limited to 155 mph outside of Japan. The efficiency of sequential turbochargers allows the Mark 4 Supra to run 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. At the drag strip, a Toyota Supra 1/4 mile of 13 seconds at 109 mph made it quicker than many V8 competitors. Price: $40,000 Engine: 3.0L Sequential Turbo Straight Six Transmission: 6-Speed Manual, or 4-Speed Automatic Horsepower: 321 hp Torque: 315 lb-ft 0-60 mph: 4.7s 1/4 mile: 13.1s @109 mph Top Speed: 177 mph Toyota Supra Mk4 Engine Many view the old Supra engine as the best inline-6 ever made. It starts with a cast-iron block with 7 main bearings. Easily capable of 1,500 horsepower, its design will last long after you read this. An aluminum head has dual cams and four valves per cylinder. One disadvantage is the Mark 4 Supra is the use of an external timing belt instead of a chain, but replacement is not much of a headache. Variable timing for the intake cam arrived in 1997, increasing the efficiency at all RPMs. 2020 Toyota Supra Price, Specs, Photos & Review Advances in turbo technology have allowed the complex sequential setup to be replaced by a single turbocharger, although many turn their example into a twin-turbo Supra. Variable geometry and dual scroll turbines can adapt more quickly than the original system. Considering the great Toyota Supra price, it is easy to make 600 to 800 reliable horsepower without sacrificing civility. Modifying your air and fuel system will dent the fuel economy. The Toyota Supra mpg is rated at 24 highway, and it can reach 30 mpg with a nice intake and exhaust upgrade. Toyota Supra Mk4 Transmission Two decades ago, transmissions came in two flavors. Almost every performance car mirrored the Toyota Supra transmission. The base model was a no-frills 4-speed automatic. It was not as popular as the manual, so finding repair parts was a problem. On the other hand, Toyota partnered with Getrag to allow the Toyota Supra price to include a new six-speed manual. While it is a robust gearbox, the 5th gear is 1:1, and the 6th gear is a 0.8 overdrive. Those who make big power normally swap in an American gearbox to have two overdrives and more parts available. Toyota Supra Mk4 Interior The cockpit of a Toyota Supra is the epitome of 90's design. You are the focus of attention, as the controls and entertainment are aimed at the driver's seat. Gauges are big and easy to read, and the shifter is in an optimal spot. The Mark 4 Supra radio consists of a double-DIN head unit with plenty of room for upgrades. Both seats have plenty of support, along with bolsters for hard cornering. Behind the front seats are two very small seats. They were needed to make the Toyota Supra price match a 2+2 layout for insurance reasons. Although they would work for small humans, many enthusiasts remove them to save weight. That leads to another point. Finding a Toyota Supra interior in original condition is becoming more difficult. Until the manufacturer offers reproduction parts, it will be up to the internet and social media to keep the passion alive. Mk4 Supra Production Numbers (Source: MKIV.com) Six-Speed Supra Turbo(Hardtop): 326 Six-Speed Supra Turbo(Sport Roof): 3712 Automatic Turbo (Sport Roof): 2939 Naturally-Aspirated Five-Speed Supra (Sport Roof): 1429 Naturally-Aspirated Automatic Supra (Sport Roof): 1306 Naturally-Aspirated Automatic Supra (Hardtop): 274 Naturally-Aspirated Five-Speed Supra (Hardtop): 249 Naturally-Aspirated SE Automatic Supra (Hardtop): 412 Naturally-Aspirated SE Automatic Supra (Hardtop): 592 Toyota Supra Brakes This is where the 90's cars get their reputation. Perhaps we are all spoiled by massive rotors and aggressive pads, but the Toyota Supra brakes are downright atrocious. Base model cars had 11.6" front rotors, and the Turbo Supra models had 12.7" on the front. Engineers made up for the small size by incorporating the first true stability system. Using technology from their F1 teams, it was one of the first production cars with a 4-channel ABS system. It was tuned to allow maximum cornering and to pull the car back in when a drift began. Toyota Supra Standout Features As much as the Toyota Supra specs were ahead of their time, Japanese engineering held tight to old-world technology. It was one of the last passenger cars to use a mechanical cooling fan. This is in contrast to the extensive use of aluminum for the hood, front cross member, oil pan, upper control arms, and the Targa roof. This allowed the Toyota Supra price to be competitive around the world. The 17" wheels make tires affordable, but then they are staggered widths. The fronts are skinny, being 235-45, and the rears are moderately sized, 255-40. With comfortable sidewalls, the Toyota Supra would let you know when it was about to let go. 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed Price, Specs & Photos
Bentley introduces a vehicle with luxury, performance and efficiency in one. Automotive enthusiasts have, for years, become accustomed to compromise. In a car, luxury, performance, and efficiency are rarely present at the same time. Some cars might offer two of those aspects, but rarely, if ever, will you get all three. However, electrification is changing things. The previous decade’s hybrid hypercar “Holy Trinity” changed the world’s perception of hybrids, and a wave of new hybrid and electric performance cars have taken that performance-oriented approach to the next level. Now, in line with its Beyond100 sustainability plans, Bentley has expanded its hybrid lineup. On its journey towards electrification, Bentley retired its iconic W12 engine, replacing it as the historic, century-old manufacturer’s flagship powerplant with its new Ultra Performance Hybrid Powertrain. The setup pairs a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a hybrid system, heralding the most powerful generation of Bentleys yet. The first is the new Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed, which along with being redesigned is the most powerful Bentley yet. View All Bentley Continentals For Sale 2025 Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed Price The new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed price has not yet been officially revealed. In addition, the new Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed is the first trim level that the new generation is launching, topping the range with its unprecedented performance. The outgoing generation of the Continental GT Speed cost an MSRP of $302,725. Likely, the new Continental GT Speed price will be around that number or higher. When examples of the new generation of the Bentley Continental GT Speed for sale start to hit the secondhand market, demand for the new model could also mean that prices will be above the Bentley Continental GT Speed MSRP. 2025 Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed Specs What is the most headline-worthy change regarding the new generation of the Bentley Continental GT Speed is the new Bentley Continental GT Speed specs. Ditching the W12 in favor of a hybrid engine has made the Continental GT Speed specs more powerful than ever. The new plug-in hybrid high-performance grand tourer skillfully combines incredible speed with luxurious comfort and high-tech efficiency. You’ll be able to rocket to over 200 mph or drive on purely electric power for what Bentley estimates to be as far as 50 miles. 2025 Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed Specs Horsepower 771 hp Torque 738 lb-ft 0-60 mph 3.1 seconds (coupe) 3.4 seconds (convertible) 1/4 Mile TBD Top Speed 208 mph (coupe) 177 mph (convertible) Engine 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with plug-in hybrid system Price TBD 2025 Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed Engine After April 2024, Bentley sadly retired the W12 engine that powered its top-of-the-line models for 20 years since its 2003 introduction. In its place is Bentley’s new flagship powertrain, the Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain. It combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with a hybrid system, and as a result, the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed horsepower is 771 hp. With that immense amount of power, the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed engine is the most powerful Bentley engine yet, and at the same time, it’s an efficient plug-in hybrid. 2025 Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed Performance With its unprecedented powerful hybrid powertrain, the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed performance is truly something to behold. The new Bentley Continental GT 0-60 is 3.1 seconds, an incredibly impressive figure considering the fact that it’s a large, plush, all-wheel drive grand tourer meant to be an oasis of luxurious relaxation just as much as it is meant to be a thrilling super coupe. In addition, the Bentley Continental GT Speed top speed is 208 mph for the new generation. 2025 Bentley Continental GT/GTC Speed Design Bentley revised the design of its iconic Continental GT Speed when it introduced the new generation of its ultra-luxe grand tourer. Instead of using two circular headlights on each side, as Bentley’s mainstream lineup of cars has been known for doing for decades, the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed design opts for singular headlights on each side, modernized with the inclusion of a protruding horizontal line. Besides that change, the silhouette and timeless luxury elegance of the new Bentley Continental GT Speed remain largely unchanged. The interior of the new car offers new upholstery options and quilting patterns, and the car’s launch color, Tourmaline Green modernizes the rich history of green as an iconic color for British performance cars. Just as much as the coupe, the convertible version of the Bentley Continental GT Speed, the Bentley Continental GTC Speed has achieved icon status. The new convertible model adds a retractable top to the iconic grand tourer, with the ability to open and close the roof at speeds of up to 30 mph, operating in just 19 seconds. The fabric roof is even available in luxurious tweed fabric, among its seven total color choices. The new Bentley Continental GT Speed highlights its ultra-luxury with features like audio systems available from Bang & Olufsen and Naim, the Bentley Rotating Display, 20-way adjustable seats with optional Postural Adjustment and Auto Climate features, and a whole host of options from Mulliner for customers to make their Continental GT Speed unique. The new Bentley Continental GT Speed aims to dominate the luxury automotive world by combining excellence in luxury, performance, and efficiency, all in one car that keeps up with the future of the automotive industry by being a plug-in hybrid that is incredibly thrilling and enjoyable at the same time. How fast is the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed? The new Bentley Continental GT Speed reaches a 208 mph top speed, while the 2025 Bentley Continental GTC counterpart is limited to 177 mph. Is the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed the fastest Bentley? The new Bentley Continental GT Speed is the most powerful Bentley yet, with 771 horsepower, and it is also the fastest Bentley with its 208-mph top speed. Did the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed break a world record? Bentley has claimed an unofficial "underwater speed record," by making the new 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed the fastest car it knows of to drive "underwater." What Bentley meant by this was that when the Continental GT Speed launched, it showed off the incredible performance potential of its new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain by hitting its 208-mph top speed in the Ryfylke undersea tunnel in Norway, which is the world's longest subesa road tunnel, as well as the deepest tunnel of any kind. Mercedes-AMG G 63 4x4 Squared Price, Specs, Photos & Review
The Mercedes G-Class is one of the most astonishing vehicles to come out of a car plant. The earliest model built in the 1970s was intended to resemble a light, military transport vehicle. However, the boxy machine has since experienced significant changes from those early days and is now a favorite of celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Britney Spears, and many others. The newest model of the Gelandewagen, the G63 AMG 4x4 Squared price comes with many exciting new features, including improvements to its legendary off-road capabilities. According to Mercedes-Benz, the G63 4×4 Squared was subjected to a series of tests in Germany and Austria before mass production. In the Austria program, design prototypes were driven 300 times up and down a treacherous off-road terrain measuring 5.6km. The new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 4x4 squared was unveiled on June 22, 2022. MUST READ: Mercedes-AMG G63 Price, Specs, Photos, & Review Mercedes G63 4x4 Squared Price As noted above the G-Class series was designed to have a body with a military orientation. However, things changed a bit in 2019 when the body of the G-Class was modified to have a more curvy and trendy appearance. Mercedes also introduced a more advanced independent front suspension in place of the live front axle of the previous 4x4. These changes have remained constant through to the snazzy 2023 G63 AMG 4x4 Squared which has even added some enhancements here and there, including a better chassis, thanks to the overhauled suspension. When it comes to the G63 4X4 Squared for sale, one constant attribute of cars is that new features usually come with a price bump. So expect a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 4x4 Squared price to start at the MSRP of $225,995 for the 2022 model (possibly between $250,000 to $300,000). A couple of factors contribute the most when it comes to the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 4x4 Squared price. The first factor is that the G63 is an embodiment of the luxury and power which Mercedes has long been associated with. Add this to the excellent off-road performance of the G-series and you understand why this premium super-SUV is great value for money. Mercedes G63 4x4 Squared Review The new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 4x4 is the creation of a group of G-class engineers in collaboration with other engineers at the performance car division of Mercedes. Unlike the last 4x4 squared version that was based on the standard G550, this new installment is based on the Mercedes-AMG G63. It is a unique SUV whose age-long military body design, high-caliber V8 engine, lovely portal axles, massive P325/55VR22 tires, and sizable ground clearance make it distinct from other units. With its low-range gearing accompanied by a center console button and three differential locks, the G63 AMG 4x4 squared is made to traverse every terrain out there, no matter how treacherous. Add its quality traction to those giant tires and huge ground clearance and you have an optimal off-road monster. Notably, the G63’s 351mm ground clearance is greater than that of the G63 4Matic by an impressive 113mm. This difference is made possible through the inclusion of the above-mentioned portal axles which were specially made for the G63 4x4 Squared. The idea of using portal axles started its evolution in 2013 with the creation of the G63 6×6. The G63 4X4 Squared’s portal axles are equipped with gearsets at each end. These sturdy-looking gear sets help to offset the center line of the axle and elevate both the chassis and body. Another contributory factor to the higher ground clearance is the tires' extra rolling radius which brings about an increase of 210mm in fording depth when compared with the G63 4Matic. Also, the approach, departure, and ramp angles of the G63 are more extended than those of the standard model by 14.3deg, 7.2deg, and 20.3deg respectively. In a nutshell, the G63 4×4 Squared is an extraordinary SUV that is difficult (but not impossible) to assess via conventional standards. It draws great appeal because of a number of characteristics including its spectacular exterior design, posh interior, high-performance capacity, and remarkable longevity. It is one SUV that generates considerable on-road excitement in addition to its outstanding off-road output. Many users will surely feel it has an edge over the regular G63 4Matic, especially from a trail perspective. Mercedes G63 4x4 Squared Specs The new Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4 Squared specs are basically a G-Class on steroids and stilts, an outstanding mix of elite luxury and high-level off-road ability. Its design specs include 22-inch alloy wheels, auxiliary LED lights, a new cover for the rear-mounted spare wheel, and wider fenders for the wheel arches. The transmission is a 9-speed speedshift automatic, which makes for a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time of 4.5 seconds on to an electronically-limited top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h). Here is a summary of some other attributes you’ll get from this fascinating high-class SUV: Mercedes-AMG G 63 4x4 Squared Specs Price: above $225,995 (est. between $250,000-$300,000) Engine: 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 Transmission: 9-speed automatic Horsepower: 585 hp Torque: 627 lb/ft 0-60: 4.5 s Top Speed: 120 mph Mercedes G63 4x4 Squared Engine This powerful machine comes with the latest evolution of AMG’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine that boasts 430kW and 850Nm which is significantly higher than the 120kW and 239Nm of the less advanced G500 4×4 squared. It has a nine-speed automatic transmission that is combined with a four-wheel drive system featuring three separate differentials. Each of the differentials can be automatically locked with switches located in the center console. There’s also a dynamic select system with five on-road driving modes (Individual, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Slippery) and three off-road modes (Trail, Rock, and Sand). Its 585 horsepower differs from the 577 of the standard G63 model albeit both have the same 627 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes G63 4x4 Squared Standout Features A 2019 ANCAP safety test rated the 2023 Mercedes-AMG G63 as five-star. It scored 73% for safety assistance, 78% percent for vulnerable road user protection, 90% for adult occupant protection, and 85% for child occupant protection. The G63 has all the advanced security features of the regular G63 including driver attention monitoring, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), traffic sign recognition, tire pressure monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and more. The new 4x4 Squared has a 45-degree approach angle (it can climb slopes of as much as 45 degrees), significantly higher than the 27-degree capacity of the standard G63. It comes with 13.8 inches of ground clearance, which is an increase of 4.3 inches when compared to the standard G63. Similarly, the G63 4X4 Squared its 35.8-inch water fording depth is 9.4 inches more than the regular G63. Towing capacity stands at 7000kg. In summary, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 4x4 Squared is one car every SUV lover should own, especially since Mercedes, with its focus on hybrid and electric models, has described the G63 4x4 Squared as the last of its kind meant for enthusiasts and collectors. Ford GT Price, Specs, Photos & Review: 2nd Generation
Ford GT Review The new Ford GT specs include a Heritage Edition. Inspired by the 1967 LeMans winning car, the red and white exterior is easy to spot when it’s going 216 mph. Power from the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 remains at 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. “Race Red” can also be found on the calipers, seat trim, and contrast stitching inside. Exposed carbon fiber and satin stainless give it a menacing demeanor. The 2018 Ford GT specs make this supercar is essentially a street-legal race car, with a dry weight of only 3,045 lbs. Inside, all essential controls are either on the steering wheel or close to it. This keeps your eyes on the road ahead while giving the interior a clean layout. The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission sends power to the rear wheels. Initially, Ford planned on building only 500 cars, but they have rethought that strategy thanks to unprecedented demand. After taking first, third and fourth place at LeMans, Ford’s fastest production car has sent everyone else back to the drawing board. If you think you are worthy of the Ford GT, the application process requires a video along with references to your character. Only 250 cars will be built each year, so don’t miss this opportunity of a lifetime. 2018 FORD GT SPECS: Horsepower: 647 hpTorque: 550 lb-ft0-60: 2.9 seconds1/4 Mile:10.9 @130 mphTop Speed: 217 mphWeight: 3,047 lbs Ford GT Engine Of course, no Ford GT review would be complete without mentioning its engine. For the 2018 Ford GT engine, engineers decided to the Ford GT specs should leave the V8 engine in the past. Working together with the Ford Raptor team, they decided to build a bulletproof 3.5 liter V6. It shares many production features found in passenger cars, so it is a great marketing move also. The dry-sump design has forged internals and large turbochargers. The new Ford GT makes 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. In the top two of the five driving modes, the direct fuel injection sprays even when the throttle is closed. This cools the cylinders and turbos and keeps them ready to go. Ford GT Transmission With the goal of winning LeMans, Ford GT specs needed a strong transmission. Only a few companies in the world are capable of building such a potent gearbox, and Getrag rose to meet the challenge. To keep the Ford GT motor in its powerband, a differential ratio of 3.66 was used. From 3rd to 6th gear, the ratio only drops 0.8. Sixth and seventh gear are both overdrives for highway cruising. It has been used in other exotics over the past few years, so this was a smart move by the Ford team. It has separate oil systems for the hydraulics and the clutches, with cooling for each. Both fluids are "fill for life" and do not require maintenance. Ford GT Brakes With the goal of winning LeMans in 2016, Ford GT specs required a potent braking system. Brembo was commissioned with building identical size calipers and rotors, for both race and street applications. For street applications, the two-piece carbon ceramic rotors measure 15.5" and are clamped by a 6-piston monoblock caliper. The rear rotors are 14.1" with 4-piston monoblock calipers. The only difference between the street and race versions is the latter uses steel rotors. Five caliper color choices allow the owner to customize his stopping power, and the computer-controlled parking brake has no cables or hydraulics to wear out. Ford GT Design In order to be unlike anything before, the Ford GT specs were locked in a secret bunker deep underneath Dearborn. Moray Callum is a Scotsman, and also the brother of Ian Callum, who, as a matter of fact, is Jaguar's chief of design. His team spared no expense in creating a faithful homage to the original Ford GT40. Every part inside and out was modeled in clay, with a constant reminder of the GT's past. What emerged is a gorgeous and efficient design. The rear wheels are housed outside the cockpit and connected by flying buttresses. Even the taillights are hollow, and they incorporate vents to channel high-pressure air away from the roof. Every surface and curve of the Ford GT's exterior was designed with a purpose. Whether it be aerodynamics, style, or functionality - like the flying buttresses that transfer air from the intercooler to the engine bay - nothing was overlooked. And because the design is based around the carbon fiber monocoque, the Ford GT weight is very low. Ford GT Price Here is where the plot thickens. At present time, if you want your own example, the Ford GT specs a starting price of $500,000. Why not just wait for a used example? The problem is that only 500 cars per year are being built. Another hindrance is Ford's purchase contract includes the first right of refusal. All things considered, should you grow tired of your Ford GT, they will buy it back to make sure the image of the supercar is not tarnished by those looking to make a profit. There are two schools of thought here, with valid points for each case. Either way, the Ford GT price will remain untouchable to mere mortals. Ford GT Interior While the earlier Ford GT had relatively spacious cockpits, space has been limited to save weight and drag. The 2018 Ford GT specs a narrow body, consequently placing driver and passenger almost shoulder to shoulder. Since there are no mechanical linkages running front to rear, the center console is skinny, It barely has enough room for two rows of switches. Speaking of controls, the steering wheel is a work of art that belongs on a Formula1 car. Carbon fiber and microfiber create a nice contrast, and leather is a costly option. Ford GT Specs & Standout Features The Ford GT specs required a formidable suspension, so Multimatic built a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde design. Essentially, they are two separate suspensions on the same car, it makes use of Dynamic Suspension Spool Valves to instantly change between race and street modes. Accordingly, the system makes use of high-pressure hydraulics, which also flows through a traditional power steering rack. Each corner has an accumulator and cylinder mounted inboard. They operate a pushrod and bellcrank to keep unsprung weight to a minimum. It is unlike anything else on the road, and it helped them to bring home 1st and 3rd place at LeMans in 2016. Click the link below to find your Ford GT and stay with us for more reviews. Ford GT: 10 Facts You Need To Know 10. Ford Chooses You Along with your new Ford GT, you will have a contract between yourself and FoMoCo which prohibits resale and includes a Right of Refusal clause. Several high-profile owners have found themselves in hot water for overlooking the details of the agreement. 9. DSSV Suspension The future of ride control has arrived. A new type of shock absorber has been patented by Multimatic, the Canadian racing engineers that Ford contracted to build the GT. A Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve does away with twin-tube shocks and replaces it with a computer-controlled high-pressure hydraulic system. 8. Jekyll & Hyde All great cars have different personalities between track and street situations. Ford has capitalized on this by endowing the GT with two suspension systems. Using the DSSV shocks mentioned above, the car has coil-overs for normal height and torsion bars for race mode. The first production car to have two independent systems, the driver is offered 2.7" lower ride height without affecting the control arm geometry. 7. EcoBoost Every previous version of the Ford GT has been powered by a V8. But they chose to embrace the 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 for the heart of the new GT. It is the ultimate version of the engine Ford uses across their lineup. If you haven't experienced a late model F150 Raptor, these compact powerhouses make big block power while offering great MPG 6. Eye On The Prize When development began in 2013, one goal stood above all others: LeMans. Ford set an aggressive timeline of deliverables to make sure 2016 would have the same winner as 1966. Their efforts paid off with a repeat victory in the GT class. It took a half-century but the results speak for themselves. Ford was undefeated from '66 to '70, so look forward to that story another day. 5. All About That Buttress Taking inspiration from medieval cathedrals, the rear fenders are connected to the roof with flying buttresses. A buttress is how roofs transfer loads to the ground, and Ford used them to create an aerodynamic advantage that channels air through the body. Even the taillights have hollow centers to prevent turbulence behind the car. The result is incredible grip and downforce. 4. Carbon Fiber Everywhere The GT is Ford's first carbon fiber body. Multimatic weaves the components together as one piece before it heads to the Autoclave. It places the Blue Oval among the likes of McLaren, Pagani, and the Lexus LFA. 3. Ford Performance App A USB cord under the dash can connect to your smartphone to record every aspect of your Ford GT. It makes use of an HD camera in the front bumper to record your laps. Every bit of data from throttle to tire temperatures is also compiled to help you become a master of your machine. 2. Limited Production Building each car is expensive. The time and materials along with the salaries of skilled engineers have prompted Ford to only build 250 cars annually. Enthusiasts voiced their sadness on this subject, which made them change their minds. Instead of a two-year run, the GT will be in production for 4 years. This means only 1,000 cars will be made so make sure you're on the list. 1. Chicken Or The Egg Everyone loved the 2005 Ford GT because it was inspired by the vintage GT40 race car. The new Ford GT is not a street car with racing inspiration. It is a race car that happens to be street legal. Browse Ford GTs For Sale " width="680"> Images Sourced From Ford

Nissan GT-R Price, Specs, Photos, Review
This car’s “Godzilla” nickname surely comes from its monstrous performance. The Nissan GT-R has been around for quite a long time. Having been introduced in 2007, it’s been more than 15 years since it first shocked the automotive world with its ability. With its all-wheel drive and twin-turbocharged V6, the car was lightyears ahead of its time, and even now, remains one of the world’s most impressive performance machines that can compete with vehicles that are much more expensive and much more extravagant. While the current Nissan GT-R price, which starts at $113,540, is much more than the original R35 price of $70,475. However, even today, that price is a bargain for the performance that you get, as Nissan has continued to improve the Nissan GT-R specs and make it one of the greatest performance cars in the automotive industry, both in the 2000s and now. The Nissan GT-R 0-60 times have come down from 3.3 seconds to 2.9 seconds, while the Nissan GT-R top speed of 197 mph in 2009 has increased to closer approach 200. That might not be much for all the time, but with its focus on on-track performance, the car demonstrates its peak ability in places other than in a straight line. When the car was first introduced, the Nissan GT-R horsepower was 480, which was an incredibly immense figure for its time. Now, it remains so, with 565 horses on tap in the 2023 model. This immense power makes up for the Nissan GT-R weight, which has come down from an inaugural 3,908 lbs to a slightly leaner 3,850. While it may have been around for quite some time, the R35 generation Nissan GT-R has been a performance masterpiece since the beginning and still is. No matter which of the R35 GT-R models you choose, you’d be looking at a truly excellent performance car, and over a decade of incredible performance has to be discussed in any R35 GT-R review, let alone the very long history of the predecessors further before it. Nissan GT-R Engine The R35 Nissan GT-R motor has been an evolution of the same 3,799 cc (3.8 l) DOHC twin-turbocharged V6 since its introduction in 2007. However, when it was first introduced, it was a bit of a departure in comparison to the engine of its predecessors, the iconic and JDM enthusiast-favorite RB26DETT that powered the Skyline GT-R models that were never offered to the U.S. market. While the hood of the car might wear a relatively humble Nissan emblem, what is under it is something truly special. In the Nissan GT-R engine, you’ll find plenty of revered performance technology, which includes a cast aluminum block with plasma-sprayed cylinder liner bores, as well as boost which is courtesy of the engine’s twin parallel Ishikawajima-Harima (IHI) turbochargers, as well as iridium-tipped spark plugs, drive-by-wire throttle, and more. The impressive character of the Nissan GT-R’s performance is just an indication of how taken-aback the automotive industry was with the performance of the model when it was first revealed. Especially here in the West, the reputation of the GT-R name was limited to a niche of people who are only now getting to drive those cars here in the States under the 25-year rule, and expectations for an upcoming flagship performance car from Nissan were not nearly as high as they needed to be. The car’s introduction came with track testing and lap times that simply demanded respect from the automotive world, and with plenty of technology and plenty more horsepower, the car earned the immense respect that it still has. While the Nissan badging on the car doesn’t invoke the idea of artisanal levels of craftsmanship to many, the GT-R defied that notion, as its engines are hand-built in a dust-proof and temperature-controlled room in Nissan’s Yokohama factory by the “Takumi Craftsmen,” a group of just five specially-trained mechanics. Only 13 engines can be built per day, with over 8 hours of time needed and over 300 parts to put to assemble, and once each car is built, it’s tested by a professional driver on Nissan’s own track. Nissan GT-R Transmission, Drivetrain, & Chassis JDM purists and fans of the older Nissan Skyline GT-R models venerate the past generations for their manual transmissions, but when Nissan introduced the R35 generation Nissan GT-R, a pivot was made, switching from a three-pedal stick to a six-speed BorgWarner dual-clutch transmission. While this change surely disappoints the auto enthusiasts who want the control and visceral experience of the manual, the transmission boasts the fastest gear shifting in production vehicles, with gear changes in 0.15-0.2 seconds. A performance advantage like that is something that is very hard to say no to, and that incredible gearbox is part of the reason that the GT-R is widely considered an easy car to drive fast. Another component of the GT-R’s incredible engineering is its drivetrain. An evolution of Nissan’s ATTESA E-TS Pro System used on older Skyline GT-Rs, the rear-biased all-wheel-drive system has lots of heritage, lots of development, and among performance enthusiasts and anyone who knows just how capable the GT-R is, plenty of respect. The car’s ability to distribute torque not only between the front and rear but also between the left and right by way of an active limited-slip differential means that the GT-R is able to efficiently use its power to reach incredible speeds, and stay planted and composed through corners. However, power isn’t the only thing that makes a great performance car, and engineering also goes into making sure the Nissan GT-R is an agile machine that behaves like something much smaller than its size. To that end, engineers carefully achieved a 54% front and 46% rear weight distribution for the Nissan GT-R, meaning that turns are executed in a well-mannered and predictable fashion. Also, the chassis is made from Alcoa aluminum to save weight, and the Bilstein monotube shock absorbers ensure a planted and stable ride. Also very important on the track is the ability to slow down, which is why the Nissan GT-R makes use of Brembo monoblock ventilated brake calipers, six-piston up front and four-piston in the rear, and some special GT-R models had carbon-ceramic brake rotors. All Nissan GT-R Model Specs Nissan GT-R CBA-R35 (2007-2010) This was the model that originally shocked the world with its introduction. With the R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R as the car that came before it, car enthusiasts all over the world were shocked to see a vehicle that rose to the occasion of an increasingly competitive landscape in the performance world. Easily able to compete with and even succeed against some of the world’s premier performance machines, the GT-R didn’t go underestimated for long. Its use of the dual-clutch automatic transmission, twin-turbocharged V6 engine, and an incredibly advanced all-wheel-drive system meant that it quickly became one of the world’s fastest cars around the hallowed Nürburgring, with a still-impressive lap time of just 7 minutes and 26.7 seconds. In addition, this model had the responsibility of proving that it wasn’t your ordinary Nissan. Along with its brash performance, drivers were treated to leather upholstery, a Bose sound system, and an interior with a boatload of tech and luxury features that made driving it an inexplicable pleasure. Right out of the gate, the R35 GT-R’s legacy was sealed as an automotive legend. 2007-2010 Nissan GT-R Horsepower: 480 hp Torque: 430 lb/ft 0-60: 3.2 s 0-100: 7.6 s ¼ mile: 11.3 s @ 120.3 mph Lateral Acceleration: 1.04g Braking 70-0: 145 ft Nürburgring lap time: 7:26.70 Top Speed: 197 mph Curb Weight: 3,386 lbs GT-R DBA-R35 (2011-2016) Once the GT-R proved its incredible performance ability, the next step was to prove its ability to keep up even as time began to pass. When it came to this challenge, Nissan rose to the occasion, and the Nissan GT-R improved, coming back with plenty more horsepower, as well as quicker acceleration and more handling ability than the first version. What resulted was a lap time on the Nürburgring that was even quicker than the GT-R that came before it, and the GT-R remained at the top of the performance car world, showing that even after years have passed, that was still not enough time for the GT-R to be outperformed by a new class of performance cars, and that a car that was very far ahead of its time when it was introduced remained ahead of its time with age. 2011-2012 Nissan GT-R Horsepower: 530 hp Torque: 448 lb/ft 0-60: 2.8 s 0-100: 7.1 s ¼ mile: 10.9 s Lateral Acceleration: 1.06g Braking 70-0: 145 ft Curb Weight: 3,885 lbs 2013-2016 Nissan GT-R Horsepower: 545 hp Torque: 463 lb/ft 0-60: 2.7 s 0-100: 6.7 s ¼ mile: 10.7 s @ 126.76 mph Lateral Acceleration: 1.06g Braking 70-0: 145 ft Nürburgring lap time: 7:18.60 Top Speed: 201 mph Curb Weight: 3,885 lbs GT-R 4BA-R35 (2017-2022) The current generation of the Nissan GT-R had two versions before it of the R35 GT-R on whose shoulders it could stand, let alone the generations of legendary Skyline GT-R cars that came before it, which all laid the groundwork for the current iteration to remain after over a decade one of the most impressive and capable performance cars in the world. With the improvements that the most recent GT-R received, the Nismo variant received even more power and track-ready ability, bringing the Nürburgring lap time all the way down to just over 7 minutes, putting it in a caliber of some of the greatest cars to ever grace the track. 2017-2022 Nissan GT-R Horsepower: 565 hp Torque: 467 lb/ft 0-60: 2.7 s 0-100: 6.7 s ¼ mile: 10.7 s @ 126.76 mph Lateral Acceleration: 1.06g Braking 70-0: 145 ft Top Speed: 204 mph Curb Weight: 3,935 lbs GT-R Nismo (2015-2019) Horsepower: 600 hp Torque: 481 lb/ft 0-60: 2.5 s 0-100: 6.2 s ¼ mile: 10.5 s @ 129.89 mph Lateral Acceleration: 1.10g Braking 70-0: 130 ft Nürburgring lap time: 7:08.67 Top Speed: 205 mph GT-R Nismo (2020-2022) Horsepower: 600 hp Torque: 481 lb/ft 0-60: 2.5 s 0-100: 6.2 s ¼ mile: 10.5 s @ 129.89 mph Lateral Acceleration: 1.10g Braking 70-0: 130 ft Nürburgring lap time: 7:03 Top Speed: 205 mph Nissan GT-R Special Models SpecV: A name closely associated with the GT-R nameplate throughout the history of both the GT-R and Skyline GT-R, the SpecV name represents a vehicle with some extra performance. While this vehicle didn’t have any changes in the engine itself, the turbos were increased in size and provided more boost in high gears. In addition, carbon fiber accents graced the interior and the special model featured the LAC Black Opal color. Black Edition: When it comes to automotive cosmetics, plenty of fans have the well-loved aesthetic taste of betting on black. Seeing this, Nissan offered the special GT-R Black Edition with a dark configuration, featuring 20-inch wheels from Rays, and special seats that were a result of a collaboration between Recaro and Nissan that featured a 2-tone upholstery in both red and black leather. Track Edition: With the Nismo’s chassis upgrades as its basis, this track-focused variant of the Nissan GT-R rids itself of many of the creature comforts that don’t contribute to its incredible performance. As a result, the spartan interior features 11 switches rather than 27, and there to assist are hollow sway bars as well as a more aggressive exhaust for increased power and a unique exhaust note. Nismo: Nismo is short for Nissan Motorsport, and known for taking any Nissan to the next level of performance, the GT-R got the same treatment since 2014, with a power increase that brought the horsepower to a total of 600, and the total torque to 481 lb/ft. With that, the top speed came up to 196 mph, and now over 200, and the weight is decreased with stiffening throughout giving the car much more composure on the track. The Nismo is 38 pounds lighter than its other GT-R counterparts. GT-R Nismo N-Attack Package: This car shows off the GT-R’s performance potential by replicating the setup that was used to achieve the GT-R’s incredible Nürburgring lap time. For Japanese customers, the conversion was done at the dealer, however, American customers are able to purchase the N-Attack Package at Stillen Motorsports. Gentleman Edition: As its name suggests, the Gentleman Edition shows off the GT-R’s luxury and classic driver’s car character. Ferrari Testarossa Price, Specs, Photos & Review
Even if you don't know about the Ferrari Testarossa, you know what it looks like and where it's been. For many reasons, the car is a hallowed hallmark of 80's culture and the complete poster car of a glamourous period that evokes nostalgia for just about anyone, even people who don't remember living in that period themselves. However, it isn't just glamor this car is known for, because as with any Ferrari, the Testarossa's roots are firmly planted in racing and performance, which is why the Testarossa is just as impressive to drive as it is to look at. There are many reasons this car is a Ferrari legend and a modern classic, and all of them make this car just as impressive today. Ferrari Testarossa Price How much is a Ferrari Testarossa? Of course, since it's a car that isn't made anymore, that can become a complicated question to answer. Especially with its importance in pop culture and status as a classic Ferrari, the Testarossa can command quite a premium on the second-hand market, and also, various factors can affect the price of a car like the Testarossa. A Ferrari Testarossa for sale in 2022 can range pretty significantly depending on condition and year release. On average, a Ferrari Testarossa will run a car enthusiast between $150,000 and $250,000. While that's quite a bit of money, it remains close to the Ferrari Testarossa MSRP of $181,000, and it's worth considering that the Testarossa car combines being a classic, being a Ferrari, and being an instantly recognizable pop culture icon for many. MUST READ: LeBron James Buys Wife Ferrari Testarossa The original Ferrari Testarossa price was fairly steep for its time, at $181,000 in 1989, and was also subject to a gas-guzzler tax of $2,700. Famously, the Testarossa Spider (the only official convertible version of the Testarossa in 1986) was auctioned off by Fiat chairman Gianni Agnelli's family in 2016. The car was a commission for Agnelli's twenty years of chairmanship for the company. The Ferrari Testarossa was initially in production from 1984–1996. The luxe sports car was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti, Ian Cameron, Guido Campoli, Emanuele Nicosia, and Diego Ottina at Pininfarina S.P.A. Its predecessor was the Ferrari BB 512i and the Testarossa was succeeded by the Ferrari 550 Maranello. Including all of the revised variations that were designed throughout the Ferrari Testarossa's ten-year production run, approximately 10,000 cars were produced. This makes the Ferrari Testarossa one of Ferrari's most mass-produced sports car models. 1994 Ferrari F512 M Ferrari Testarossa Review Many different types of Ferrari Testarossa reviews focus primarily on the aesthetics of the vehicle, which is somewhat understandable-- it's a gorgeous sports car whose image adorned the walls of auto shops and teenage bedrooms for many years. Its likeness was even featured in video games like Grand Theft Auto III, Micro Machines V3, and Impact Racing many years ago. So what is it like to actually drive one? Well, it's difficult to say. Many Testarossas were kept in collection storage and eventually experienced hose and seal deterioration. From what reviews can be found, the Testarossa's 12-cylinder engine was quite loud, which only added to the car's appeal, and with the Ferrari Testarossa horsepower being a strong 385, it had bite to match its bark. It is also quite fast for its time. (Which we’ll dive into later on in this guide.) The Testarossa Spider, a variation of the original Testarossa, was only produced as a single model for Gianni Agnelli. Ferrari diehards constantly requested that the Spider see mass production, but Ferrari refused. This was because the variant had significant structural and spatial challenges that would be too difficult and costly to resolve for mass production. Ferrari Testarossa Specs Price: $181,000 Engine: 4.9-liter flat-12 Transmission: 5-speed dog-leg Manual Horsepower: 385 hp Torque: 361 lb/ft 0-60 mph: 5.0 s 1/4 mile: 12.7 s Top Speed: 180 mph Weight: 3,766 lbs Ferrari Testarossa Engine The Ferrari Testarossa engine was a 4.9 L Tipo F113 and Tipo 113 B flat-12. Its engine layout with rear mid-body and featured rear-wheel drive. It was also mated exclusively as a 5-speed manual transmission. The naturally aspirated 4.9 L (4,943 cc) 180 degree Ferrari flat-12 engine featured DOHC 4 valves per cylinder, totaling forty-eight valves per vehicle. It is lubricated through a dry-sump system. The Ferrari Testarossa engine had a compression ratio of 9.20:1. The engine and the Ferrari Testarossa specs in general meant business, as these features all combine provided a maximum power output of 287 kW (390 PS; 385 hp) at around 6,300 rpm. It also had a maximum torque of 490 N⋅m (361 lb/ft) at 4,500 rpm. Initially, U.S. editions of the Ferrari Testarossa had noticeably less power at 283 kW (385 PS; 380 hp). The Testarossa is capable of accelerating from zero to 62 miles per hour in about 5.3 seconds and up to 50 miles per hour in just over five seconds. The top speed of a Testarossa is believed to be around 180 miles per hour. Ferrari Testarossa Transmission The Ferrari Testarossa 5-speed manual transmission is rear-mounted in all versions and editions of the vehicle. In keeping with tradition, it would be the last Ferrari to have a dog-leg first gear, the logic being that when racing the driver would be in 2nd and 3rd primarily. With the first gear being at the bottom left, the reverse gear is locked out at the upper left. With a strong on-center feel, classic Italian transmissions require strong arms. Compared to any modern car, it is a visceral experience feeling and hearing the shifter slide through the gates. A propeller shaft connects the output to the differential, and it acts as a fuse. When abused, the shaft polishes the differential and it can snap under hard launches. Given the cost of a full rebuild, go easy and double-clutch as often as possible. Ferrari Testarossa Interior The Ferrari Testarossa interior was nothing particularly special, though many of its features were common during its production time in other luxury sports vehicles. Most versions of the vehicle came with interior leather upholstery in either red, brown, white, or black. Many Ferrari enthusiasts have taken to customizing the interior of their Testarossas. The Testarossa was also designed to be a bit larger than its predecessor, leading to an almost comically wide interior. Still, this provided for more luggage space without compromising speed or weight. The front forward-opening hood feature carpeted storage space. The Testarossa also had twin side radiators that were close to the rear engine, rather than a radiator in the front, which made for a cooler cabin temperature. Ferrari Testarossa Brakes The Ferrari Testarossa brakes boast a diameter of 12.4 inches for the front and rear brake diameters of 12.20 inches. Currently, there are many aftermarket Ferrari Testarossa performance brake calipers, pads, and rotors available. Because the original brakes on Testarossas are relatively easy to service with use, many car enthusiasts have taken to creating and installing heavy-duty brakes more suitable for today's challenging tracks. Ferrari Testarossa Standout Features While the Ferrari Testarossa was likely very fun to drive in its original days, the model itself has become famous for its sleek, unique, and edgy look. The Ferrari Testarossa from Miami Vice was one example of this. The American crime drama television series aired from 1984 to 1990. In a famous lawsuit, Ferrari demanded that the production team behind the show would stop producing (and then selling) fake Ferrari replicas during filming. MUST READ: Miami Vice Ferrari Testarossa Set to Cross the Block at Mecum In an amicable agreement between the two entities, Ferrari decided to offer two free 1986 Testarossas to the team as long as the replicas were destroyed. In a famous season in the show's third season, Crockett is given a sharp white 1986 Ferrari Testarossa with a Florida license plate to complete his cover as a high-rolling drug dealer. A legendary car in itself, the Ferrari Testarossa was known for having a unique look, a decent speed for its time, and for being so widely produced by Ferrari. Porsche 918 Spyder Price, Specs, Photos & Review
Porsche 918 Spyder Review Touted as the "ultimate hypercar," the Porsche 918 Spyder specs are those of the first production-based road car that broke the 7-minute barrier at the legendary Nurburgring. This plug-in hybrid supercar debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and was built from 2013–2015. Each Porsche 918 production number of 918 cars built appears on the hood, as well as in several spots inside the cabin. With an unprecedented combination of performance and efficiency, the 918 Spyder marked the beginning of a new era for supercars. The Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a combustion engine and two electric motors. When it comes to performance, the numbers are stunning: 0-60 in 2.2 seconds, 0-100 mph in 4.9 seconds, 1/4 mile time of 9.8 seconds, and a top speed of 217 mph. All this performance and cutting-edge technology cannot come cheap, though. The Porsche 918 price for a new car was $845,000, but options like the Weissach package ($84,000) and Liquid Metal paint ($63,000) could push that price to over $1 million. Since Porsche stopped producing this model in 2015, the asking price for a used Porsche 918 Spyder has skyrocketed — it can easily exceed $1.6 million. Driving the Porsche 918 Spyder is a pure delight. If you don't need a symphony from the V8, the front electric motor offers 12 miles of range. It is powered by a 6.8 kWh battery that forms the basis of the hybrid system. Charging the system can be done by the integrated 154 horsepower motor-generator inside the transmission. Alternatively, a 120-volt AC inverter and a high-voltage DC transformer are included. The final way to keep the batteries topped off is through regenerative braking. Instead of burning the brake pads, the front motor is used as a generator. Porsche 918 Spyder Engine To blast to over 200 mph, the 918 Spyder relies on a 4.6 L V8 engine and two electric motors. The fossil-fuel-fed Porsche 918 Spyder specs an engine that produces 608 horsepower. The total horsepower of the 918 Spyder is 887 hp, thanks to the performance boost from the two electric motors. The rear electric motor sends 154 horsepower into the transmission. The second electric motor on the front axle makes 127 horsepower. Without help from the electric motors, the rear-mounted V8 engine, which is derived from the 2005 RS Spyder race car, revs to 9,150 rpm. The combustion engine reaches 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,700 rpm. The rear electric motor features innovative hybrid cooling with air and water. You can't easily admire the engine or e-motors, though. As the hood doesn't open, you'd have to take your Spyder to the dealer to take a peek at your Porsche 918 engine. While the hybrid systems receive most of the notoriety, the V8 is worthy of serious praise. Porsche dusted off a racing engine originally designed in 2005. Filling it with titanium and forged steel allowed the piston speeds to rival Formula 1, with a redline of nearly 9,200 rpm. Not only does it make use of a flat-plane crankshaft, but the firing order is also reversed. The intake charge enters outboard and the exhaust fires upward from the engine valley directly into the mufflers. The accessories are crank-driven so there are no belts to break. At only 297 lbs, the Porsche 918 Spyder engine would be perfect for a one-make series so we hope they are reading this. Porsche 918 Spyder Specs: Price: $845,000Engine: 4.6-liter V8 & Dual Hybrid DriveHorsepower: 887Torque: 944 lb-ft0-60: 2.2 secondsTop Speed: 217 mphTransmission: 7-speed dual-clutch Porsche 918 Spyder Transmission The Porsche 918 Spyder specs an engine mounted so low down that Porsche engineering had to mount the 918 transmission upside down, for better weight distribution. The rear motor runs through the 7-speed PDK dual-clutch, while the front axle electric motor has only one gear. Surprisingly, the gear selector is a tiny lever mounted just to the right of the steering wheel. At high speed (over 164 mph), the 918 Spyder becomes rear-wheel drive only. That's because a decoupler disconnects the front electric motor to avoid over-revving. There are five driving modes: electric, hybrid, sport, racing and Hot Lap. The latter uses full engine power but depletes all-electric reserves. The beauty of the system is in the electric motors powering the car between the gear shifts. Obviously, the 918 offers brutal acceleration in any circumstance. Porsche 918 Spyder Brakes Because the Porsche 918 Spyder horsepower is 887 hp, it needs a matching high-performance braking system. The 918 Spyder has Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB). They have six-piston monoblock calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear. The ceramic discs at the front have a diameter of 16.1 inches. Those at the rear have a diameter of 15.4 inches. Through brake regeneration, the Porsche 918 Spyder specs that the brakes capture most of the energy that would be otherwise wasted as heat during braking. Furthermore, the electromechanical brakes of the 918 Spyder then store that energy in a battery and feed it back through the electric motors. Additionally, daily driving and light braking won't even invoke the hydraulic system, as both electric motors become generators when the brake pedal is pressed. So every week you need to do a few spirited stops to keep condensation out of your brake lines. Top Porsche 918 Spyder Colors Porsche 918 Spyder Design Inspired by Porsche's previous supercars, the carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque chassis of the 918 Spyder is lightweight and high-strength. The design of the Porsche hybrid 918 stands out thanks to the top-mounted exhaust pipes and massive rear spoiler. Both are adjustable from the control panel. The Porsche 918 Spyder specs a Targa roof, but you have to remove the top panels manually. They are easy to stow in the trunk. Another distinctive feature of the exterior design of the 918 Spyder is its "Acid Green"brake calipers. Therefore, Porsche chose to add accents in the same color on the carbon bucket seats, seat belt, and steering wheel ensure design coherency. The Weissach Package adds several pieces of exposed carbon fiber along with gorgeous magnesium wheels. Unquestionably, the differences save over 80 lbs and make it easily distinguishable at a distance. Porsche 918 Spyder Standout Features The pinnacle of decades of engineering, the Porsche 918 Spyder blends high-tech, efficiency and performance in a weight-saving design. The standard version of the Porsche 918 Spyder weighs 3,691 lbs. With the optional 918 Weissach pack, which improves the driving dynamics, the car is lighter, weighing 3,602 lbs. The 918 Spyder with the Weissach package is the version that made the Porsche 918 Spyder Nurburgring time of 6:57 a reality. Concurrently, the two electric motors draw their power from a 6.8 kW·h liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. It has a 20-mile electric range and a total range of 420 miles in hybrid mode. The Porsche Universal Charger takes seven hours to charge the battery when connected to a 110-volt household AC socket. Or only two hours with a 240-volt power supply. An optional HVDC Speed Charging Station can fully charge the lithium-ion battery in 25 minutes. The Porsche 918 Spyder specs are an incredibly fast hybrid for technology aficionados. For those who demand the ultimate from every situation, the Porsche 918 Spyder standout features make it truly unique. Starting with exterior pleasantries, the Porsche 918 was offered in several classic liveries. Potential owners tried to outdo each other with several references to the 917, with sponsors including Marlboro, Martini, and Gulf Oil. As those cars were built with motorsports in mind, they most certainly arrived with the Weissach Package. Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Package Named after their development center, the Weissach Package was a shrewd way to make a Porsche 918 Spyder for sale stand out from the crowd. For only $84,000, your car would arrive 90 lbs lighter. Every detail was scrutinized inside and out, starting with the bolts. Instead of steel, every fastener was machined from titanium. The RS-Spyder magnesium wheels, titanium brake pads, and lack of sound insulation are details we enjoy because they make the driving experience much more rewarding. To summarize the greatest Porsche to date, it can be an eco-friendly green machine, or tear up the Nurburgring. While the Porsche 918 Spyder price may be high, it's worth every single penny.
