A Porsche Taycan Broke The Record For Fastest Cross-Count...

Not the fastest trip across the country, but the least amount of time spent charging. When we see cross-country records, they're usually for the shortest amount of time spent getting from coast to coast. However, the recent record set by Wayne Gerdes in a Porsche Taycan is for the shortest amount of time spent charging during a cross-country trip. The previous record that Gerdes needed to beat was 7 hours, 10 minutes, and 1 second... and he smashed it. Once he completed his trip from Los Angeles, California to Ney York City, he racked up just 2 hours, 26 minutes, and 48 seconds spent charging. In order for Gerdes to have his new record to meet the standard of the Guinness World Records, he had to note every stop with independent witnesses at each one, the entire trip was recorded and recorded via GPS and all information was certified by a panel of adjudicators. Must Read - New 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS Variants Revealed Gerdes had this to say regarding his record: “I’m proud and honestly a little surprised to have set the new benchmark by such a margin. The Taycan performed even better than expected. Its performance, comfort and road holding were excellent, but the standout metric alongside the charging capacity was its efficiency. I’m grateful to both Porsche for supporting me and to Electrify America’s network, which made it possible.” All Taycans For Sale

By Tyler Rampersaud –  January 19, 2022

New Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo Electrifies the Shooting...

The shooting brake is alive and well, and it’s electric to boot. The electric Porsche Taycan debuted as a sports sedan, and we recently saw the debut of a wagon Cross Turismo version that adds practicality and a bit of rugged off-road design to the car. Now, fans of the iconic shooting brake body style can enjoy a Taycan that marries the two together: the Taycan Sport Turismo. MUST READ: Porsche Design Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary Porsche says that the Sport Turismo combines the practicality of the Cross Turismo’s added luggage space and rear-seat room with the aggressive looks and on-road dynamics of the Taycan sports sedan. The inaugural Taycan Sport Turismo will be the GTS, which is set to launch at the end of February. If the GTS isn’t the Taycan Sport Turismo you want, don’t worry. Early March will be when you can choose from the Taycan Sport Turismo, the 4S, GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S, and it will be available in rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive. With as little as a 2.8 second 0-60 time, and charging from 5% to 80% in less than 23 minutes, just about everything about the Taycan Sport Turismo is fast. We also think the same will go for how it sells, so if you want to get your hands on one, keep your eyes peeled next month. All Porsche Taycans For Sale

Porsche Goes 'Back to the Future' and Announces 1.21 Giga...

Where we're going, we kind of need roads. The Porsche Taycan is a truly exciting automobile as it's not only all-electric but made by one of the most revered automakers in the world. Being such a sought-after vehicle, Porsche has ensured that drivers are able to charge their Taycan wherever they go. To accomplish this, they have a massive network of chargers through Electrify America and European Ionity. This charging network is so large, in fact, that there is a combined 1.21 gigawatts of combined power within it. Within the network are 670 Electrify America and 372 Ionity charging locations, amounting to over 4,800 individual chargers. So, while it's impossible for a single car to have a power output of 1.21 gigawatts, at least the Taycan's charging network is capable of such a feat. To celebrate the network exceeding the specific amount of power, Porsche has put together a short video of the Taycan driving alongside the iconic time-traveling De Lorean DMC-12 from Back to the Future. Watch it up above and see if you can spot the several Easter Eggs. Porsches For Sale Source: Porsche

Tesla Model S Plaid Drag Races Porsche Taycan Turbo S

Not much of a contest. Drag strips are becoming a bit quieter as the years pass thanks to the introduction of insanely quick electric cars. In fact, DragTimes recently took part in a drag race that was completely quiet considering the two cars were a Porsche Taycan Turbo S and a Tesla Model S Plaid. These two electric brutes battled it out down the drag strip, releasing their power to their wheels immediately. To be a bit more precise, the Model S Plaid is capable of 1,020 horsepower while the Taycan Turbo S will produce 750 horsepower. The difference in power is quite evident when the two go all out down the drag strip, which you can see for yourself in the video up above.
