Porsche Testing a Mysterious 911 With a Ducktail

A mysterious Porsche 911 Turbo (992) is currently being test on the Nurburgring and it's definitely catching eyes. While it remains under camouflage, there's one aspect that's easily spotted: it's ducktail. This type of wing hasn't been seen on a Porsche in quite some time so this is exciting for not only Porsche fans but automotive enthusiasts in general. YouTube Channel 'Automotive Mike" captured the mystery 911 being test on the Nurburgring during the Industry Pool. He notes that Porsche has indeed hinted at a two-seater lightweight version of the 911 and this could be that very car, but the real answer as to what it is remains in the air. Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments down below. See All Porsche 911 Turbos for Sale

2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4 & Targa 4S Unveiled

Choosing between coupe and convertible has always been difficult. That is why the Porsche 911 Targa solved the problem in 1965. While earlier Targa models had a removable roof that could be left at home, it is time to embrace the latest in technology. Improving upon the mechanism unveiled on the previous 991 series, we are delighted to announce that the 2021 Porsche 911 Targa & Targa 4S have been unveiled. The new 992 chassis offers more strength and better response with an open top than the previous-generation coupe. As evident in their name, both models arrive with the latest in All Wheel Drive with a choice of two engines. The Targa 4 offers 385 horsepower and leaps to 62 mph in only 4.2 seconds (with the optional Sport Chrono package). It is a tenth faster than its predecessor, which equals much more fun at higher speeds. If you demand the best, the Targa 4S offers 450 horsepower to reach 62 mph in only 3.6 seconds. That is an increase of nearly a half-second over the 991 Series Porsche 911 Targa 4S for sale. Both cars arrive standard with Porsche Traction Management. InnoDrive with adaptive cruise control is optional, and Smartlift can adjust ride height for different driving modes. You probably already guessed that the Targa 4 will have an 8-speed dual-clutch, the Targa 4S can be had with a seven-speed manual. It also has 391 lb-ft of torque between 2,300 and 5,00 RPM, so you can wind out each gear with a smile on your face. McLaren 600LT vs Porsche 911 GT2 RS Drag Race

The McLaren 600LT has many competitors, including the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Lamborghini Huracan Performante and Ferrari 488 Pista. Motoring Magazine recently took the 600LT and 911 GT2 RS out for a drag race to see how they stacked up against each other in a straight line. Could the new English supercar that breathes flames take out the record-breaking Porsche? At the finish line, the race was extraordinarily close but one car was crowned the clear victor. When compared through specifications, the 911 GT2 RS edges out the 600LT in terms of power. On the Porsche side, the 911 GT2 RS packs 690 horsepower, while the 600LT is at 592 hp. The 911 GT2 RS also beats the 600LT's torque numbers with 553 lb-ft against 457 lb-ft. One very important specification that the 600LT wins out on is weight, thanks to its curb weight of 2,994 lbs, which is much lighter than the 911 GT2 RS (3,241 lbs. The 600LT is also cheaper-- $240,000 vs $293,200. Which car out of the two would you take home? see all mclaren 600lt's for sale see all porsche 911 gt2 rs for sale

Porsche 911 GT3 Crashes Hard Going 152 MPH at Nürburgring

Have you ever pushed your Porsche 911 too hard? The helpless feeling that comes after you've lost control is usually stopped by drifting along with the spin, unless you are going 152 mph. Such was the case with a recent Porsche GT3 and its owner at Touristenfahrten 2018. Everyone wants a 996-series GT3 (1999-2005) because they are easily converted from street-legal to hardcore track monster.  The undulating pavement of the Old North Loop makes even the best cars go airborne. Being that the driver stripped out most of the interior, we are probably riding in a 2,800-lb car with at least 400 horsepower. Our friends at TOP Nürburgring Videos allowed us to ride along as the driver was startled by a caution flag. Applying the brakes while it was airborne caused the unfortunate car to land with the rear wheels locked up. Thankfully the incredible engineering of the 911 and the latest in safety gear allowed him to walk away. Once you are past the limit, always take your hands off the wheel. Going this fast will transform a steering wheel into a meat grinder. Tell us about your worst crash in the comments below, and find a Porsche GT3 near you!. View All Porsche GT3 For Sale

Porsche Explains the 911 Lineup in 5 Minutes

What began in 1963 as the Porsche 911 has evolved from one model to 24 different versions. In order to appeal to every Porsche enthusiast, Stuttgart has transformed the 911 into a Swiss Army Knife. Walking into a Porsche Dealer might be overwhelming, so they uploaded a video to YouTube to clarify the models. The 993 series of the 1990s was the first truly diverse lineup, so click this link to see each one in detail.Porsche 993 Specs, Photos, Prices & ReviewHere is an example the dilemma: I like the subtle looks of the Carrera S, but I don't need all the bells & whistles, the answer is the Carrera T. Or if you like an open top but not a full convertible, the Targa has a hardtop that drops behind the seats. Your choices of rear wheel drive or all-wheel drive are also major variables. The true purpose of this video is to drive sales of the remaining 2019 models because 2020 will see an all-new 911. Nissan GT-R Nismo and Porsche 911 GT3 RS Compared in Race

We've seen some unlikely comparisons, but this one is among the best. The BBC program 5th gear delights in pushing the latest supercars to their limits, but this race will surprise you. Germany and Japan went head-to-head on a wet Welsh track. The first is the lastest naturally-aspirated Porsche. The 911 GT3 RS has 520 horsepower sent to the rear wheels for $187,500. Nissan's latest GT-R Nismo is 600 horsepower beast with a sticker price of $175,490. It has a potent AWD system which makes it 485 lbs heavier than the Porsche.Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo is Heading to ProductionWith less than $10,000 difference, every other attribute is the opposite. From a twin turbo 3.8-liter mounted up front, the Porsche has a 4.0-liter flat six that is naturally aspirated and mounted behind the rear wheels. Porsche's transaxle is mounted directly to the engine, while Nissan uses a torque tube to the rear-mounted transmission a driveshaft to power the front wheels. What does this mean on a drizzly day? Porsche 911 GT2 RS in 4K by Carfection

Years from now, we will look back at Henry Catchpole as one of the greatest automotive personalities. His Carfection films are more than just a review. He digs deep into the emotions released by the experience while telling the story of each car. This week he chose to take on the greatest Porsche so far, the 991.2 series GT2 RS.Porsche GT2 RS Price, Specs & ReviewHaving driven the GT3 RS, he instantly makes note of the additional 88 lbs of weight. Engineers dialed in more suspension to compensate, but many parts are shared between the two. Most importantly are the control arms and rear-steering. They have no rubber bushings, and the ball joints transmit all the right vibes into the cockpit. The Weissach package includes 21" mag wheels, a titanium roll cage, and it borrows the comfortable racing seats from the 918 Spyder. I had no idea Porsche is using water injection to cool the intake, and the front-mounted reservoir is a work of art. With almost 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, it could be easy to lose your composure in front of the camera, but this car speaks for itself.
