Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Engineering Details Explained

If you want the latest and greatest, most automakers save significant changes until a new model is introduced. However Bugatti never stops testing and improving upon their designs. With supercomputer continually crunching the numbers, test drivers and engineers have been looking for every possible way to improve the Chiron. Dedication of this level is not found anywhere else in the automotive world, so here are the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport engineering details explained. In a press release yesterday, they began by mentioning that this car might look like a Chiron. But everything underneath has been scrutinized for weight and performance, to the extent that the Pur Sport is nearly a clean-sheet redesign. 2021 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport Road Trip Stefan Ellrott, Head of Development at Bugatti: “The Chiron Pur Sport is much more agile, firm and precise. It’s more hungry for corners, accelerates faster thanks to a shorter gear ratio and offers increased downforce thanks to new aerodynamics.” Engineers tried 17 combinations of caster, camber, shocks and springs. Countless hours on the track yielded a reduction in camber of 2.5 degrees at all corners. This necessitated new bearings (130% stiffer) for the control arms. Upgrades in the chassis' stiffness have allowed the spring rates to be raised from 100 to 166 N/mm on the front and from 150 to 200 N/mm on the rear. New strut mounts hold revised magnetic suspension that makes adjustments every six milliseconds. Top 50 Best Exotic Cars & Supercars Of All Time Finally, transmission and differential gearing is 15% shorter. This makes for blistering acceleration at the expense of limiting top speed. The Pur Sport tops out at 217 mph, but it gets there much faster than its predecessors. To ensure the quality and performance of these upgrades, the prototypes have over 31,000 miles and counting. Chief Engineer Jachin Schwalbe says: "The combination of a firmer chassis, shorter gear ratio, more downforce and the new ESC-Sport+ driving mode is addictive. The Chiron Pur Sport selects the right gear in every situation, no matter how dynamic. It feels like it’s glued to the road. Then you’ve got this tremendous acceleration. The car exceeds the expectations of even the most experienced drivers." Click the button below to find out more from our dealers and stay with us for all your Bugatti news. Browse Bugatti For Sale

How to Film a Bugatti Chiron at 250 MPH

Two years ago Juan Pablo Montoya was strapped into a 1,500 horsepower beast. His goal was to smash previous records and raise the bar for the automotive industry. After a brilliant start he reached 248 mph (400 kph) in only 42 seconds. This impressive achievement was recorded for posterity, and this is how to film a Bugatti Chiron at 250 mph. Bugatti Chiron Price, Specs, Photos & Review First, you need a driver. JP Montoya has numerous victories in F1, NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, just to name a few. Then they needed a stable camera and a fast car to bolt it to. This might sound like ancient wisdom, but the only way to film a Chiron is to be a Chiron. So the team used another Bugatti with a head start. We applaud them for the record and Outrun Films for epic cinematography. Bugatti La Voiture Noire & Koenigsegg Jesko Caught Leavin...

One of the most bittersweet moments in the world of auto shows is navigating the show cars to their transporter. Our partnership with Motor Trend shows allows us to leave first in order to avoid potential damage from the frenzy of tear down. But things seem to work differently in Switzerland. In two new YouTube films, we can watch the Bugatti La Voiture Noire & Koenigsegg Jesko Leaving Geneva Auto Show. Maybe the transporters were late, but it is a bit nerve-wracking to watch these one-off supercars negotiate pallets and a frenzy of laborers. If you have ever attended a duPont REGISTRY live event, you know our show cars disappear in the twinkling of an eye. Nevertheless, SellerieCimes was able to help these two negotiate the situation while grabbing great footage. " width="680"> Yes, the Bentley is running, but those six tailpipes have been given the silent treatment for the anonymous owner. On the other hand, the Koenigsegg is pushed out to avoid scaring the workers. With so many variables to consider, it is enough to give the driver a panic attack. Audi S4 Races Bugatti Chiron, Surprises Everyone

The Bugatti Chiron is, without a doubt, one of the most powerful production cars in existence. It packs a whopping 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque, and the CEO of Bugatti recently said that the Chiron could easily hit 280 mph. That's more than impressive. The Audi S4 (B5, 1997-2002), on the other hand, is just a good car. In fact, one of my coworkers had a 2000 S4 and says it was a "fantastic car" and that they "rip." But can it match the prowess of a hypercar like the Chiron? Not all of them can match a Bugatti, but one at the SCC500 Rolling50 1000 did. In fact, it did more than match the Chiron. Of course, this specific S4 was packing more than a stock engine. Tuned by Hannover Hardcore, this Audi can push out 1,300 hp and 992 lb-ft of torque. That's simply insane. You can watch this Audi take on a Bugatti Chiron in the video below by YouTube Channel cvdzijden. Trust me, you want to watch it. " width="680">

Bugatti Chiron Destroys McLaren 720S in Rolling Race

If a hypercar like the Bugatti Chiron goes up against a supercar like the McLaren 720S, the result is expected. Here in the car world, the word "hyper" reigns supreme over the word "super," so naturally any hypercar would be any supercar. Well, sometimes that's not the case. Motor1 pointed out that " title="YouTube video" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen> actually lined up really well against a Chiron. It seems now that a Chiron, being driven by someone else, has taken revenge on the 720S model during a rolling race at SCC500 Rolling50 1000. The race was filmed by cvdzijden, who attended the event and managed to capture both the races and the results on the monitor. We appreciate the hustle! Check out the races right down below.

The Story of Two Wild Bugatti EB110 Race Cars

We'll save the wild story of the Bugatti EB110 for another day. But here is what you need to know: An Italian Businessman raised some money and bought the rights to Bugatti. Romano Artioli purchased Lotus and Bugatti with notions of injecting them with modern power and styling. He was the first Suzuki Dealer in Italy, and it allowed him to buy an extensive collection of vintage Bugattis.Everything You Need To Know About the Iconic Bugatti EB110 SSEncouraged by his friend Ferruccio Lamborghini, he bought the rights and entrusted the body to Marcello Gandini, the man responsible for the Miura, Countach, and the Diablo. With Bugatti having such a deep motorsports history, Mr. Artioli decided to go for broke and aim for LeMans. Two cars were built with endurance racing in mind, and they are the EB110LM and the EB110 SC GTS-1.Davide Cironi was considering a film on the EB110 itself when he was contacted by the owner of both race cars. He decided to gather all the people behind the builds together, and it resulted in a story every Bugatti fan will love to see. Of course, this is in Italian, so unless you are fluent, the English closed captioning is on-point. Bugatti Divo: Built For Corners

Going fast in a straight line is fun, and holding your speed through a corner is even more satisfying. That is why Bugatti is taking a page from the past with the new Chiron Divo. Factory driver Albert Divo won the Targa Florio twice in Bugatti Type 35, so the next Chiron will bear his name. The road race was a brutal test of drivers and cars. It took place in the mountains of Sicily above the city of Palermo. What began in 1906, it was one of the world's greatest races, until General Patton's 7th Army surrounded the city on July 22, 1943.Bugatti Divo Confirmed, Costs Over $5 MillionEven though the Chiron is not an old design, serious advances in aerodynamics have been made by Bugatti's Italian cousins at Lamborghini. With the impending launch of the Aventador SVJ, we have been teased again by an upload to Bugatti's Facebook page. To help control the turbulence caused by the massive tires, the Divo will have carbon fiber aero blades behind the fenders. The French flag is a nice touch, so we hope it is standard equipment. Bugatti Chiron vs Veyron in Multi-Million Dollar Drag Race

There is no greater thrill in drag racing that lining up next to a slow car. But when it comes to Bugatti, their products are anything but slow. So this is the race we've been waiting for. The Veyron was the culmination of years of engineering and design. It captured everyone's attention when it arrived in 2005. A sixteen-cylinder engine with four turbos was tuned to make 1,001 horsepower and 920 lb-ft of torque. After a decade of innovation and continual improvements, Bugatti reached the limits of what the Veyron could handle. So a successor was designed to have even more power and performance. Instead of using four equally-sized turbos, each bank of 8 cylinders fed a sequential setup. Not only does this prevent turbo lag, it also allows for higher sustained boost. All of the updates allow the car to offer 1,479 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. So the Chiron would be the obvious winner on paper, but many other variables come into play at these power levels. Events like these are what has made the Driving Force Club a popular venue to watch supercars in action.LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron is a Thing of BeautyBased in the NYV-tristate area, they hold 35-50 events annually, with all proceeds going to Children's hospitals in and around the Big Apple. Bugatti Veyron Spins $150,000 Donuts

You and your tires share a close relationship. They keep you safe, but in the world of hypercars, they should be scared of your right foot. New tire day is like Christmas to us because the best way to celebrate the end of an era is to vaporize your old tires. This is an easy task for Rear Wheel Drive cars, but who in their right mind would do it in a Bugatti Veyron? When Bugatti first introduced it, the Veyron's capabilities awed the world. Of course, maintenance would be expensive, but they took it to an obscene level. The most expensive tires ever made could only be mounted to the wheels at the factory in Molshieim. That is because the rubber is glued to the wheels with a special epoxy. For many, this crossed the line between regular service and downright inconvenience. Perhaps that is why the Chiron has a conventional wheel/tire setup.Fastest Quarter-Mile Production CarSo if you combine the cost of shipping your stock wheels back to France, and buying new wheels & tires in the meantime, you will be $150,000 out of pocket. Daily Driven Exotics came across this situation, and what you are about to see is the most expensive tire destruction ever filmed.Browse Bugatti For Sale
