2021 Mustang Mach 1 Combines Historical Influences With S...

Innovation never stops at Ford. Their Coyote 5-liter V8 offers incredible low end torque along with high-rpm exhilaration. With such a powerhouse under the hood, it was only a matter of time before they turned their attention to the chassis and aerodynamics. That is why the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 combines historical influences with Shelby hardware. With 480 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, a new Tremec six-speed manual is the first Mustang to offer active rev-matching. The dual-disk clutch easily grabs the flywheel since the computer matches RPM to the input shaft. A 10-speed automatic with two oil coolers is optional, but it can't be had with the Handling Package. Buyers who select this option will receive more aggressive spoilers, fender flares, and a Gurney Flap for 150% more downforce. Also included are Tarnished Dark aluminum wheels measuring 19"x 10.5" front and 19" x 11" rear offer incredible grip in any situation. They are the basis for an all-new EPAS calibration, bespoke MagneRide shock tuning, and solid sway bars. Other standard equipment includes separate cooling circuits for engine oil, transmission fluid, and the differential. For the first time on a Mustang, a full-length belly pan forces high-pressure tubeulance against the brake rotors, keeping them cool while the car is glued to the road. See the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 Race a 2018 Ford GT

If you're looking for American power in the form of a car, Ford has plenty of options for you. Two of their most powerful models are the Mustang Shelby GT500 and GT, with one being a raw muscle car and the other a Le Mans car built for the road. DragTimes recently had the chance to test these two cars against each other. While Brooks of DragTimes has his own GT supercar, the Shelby GT500 came from Ken of Palm Beach Dyno who just took delivery of the sinister Mustang. Check out the video down below where they give a solid comparison between the two monster Fords. SEE ALL FORD GT'S FOR SALE SEE ALL SHELBY GT500'S FOR SALE

New 'FORD v FERRARI' Trailer Brings the Drama

A new trailer for the upcoming film 'FORD v FERARRI' film was released and it's hinting at the much-anticipated drama. The rivalry between Ferrari and Ford during this period of time was hot on and off of the race track, and this film looks to bring it all to the big screen. see all ford gt's for sale This new trailer also focuses on Ken Miles, the prolific racer that's played by Christian Bale. He was the mastermind behind the wheel, but the trailer shows that many at Ford weren't prepared for him. Check it all out in the trailer down below and get ready for the film to hit theaters on November 15. 2018 Ford GT vs Lamborghini Aventador Race in the 1/4 Mile

It isn't smart to take a new Ford GT to the track. That's why our friend Brooks from DragTimes has made sure his car is properly broken in. He has been teasing us with this run for months, and unlike other owners, he puts miles on his cars. Palm Beach International Raceway is a perfect venue despite Florida's persistent humidity. Top 10 Fastest Quarter Mile Cars The crew from DragTimes decided to fully document the run, so the car was fitted with telemetry from VBOX. It will allow them to see 0-60, 0-100 MPH, and even 100-200 KPH. A friend with a Lamborghini Aventador came along, but he resisted the urge to use "Thrust Mode" in order to preserve the single-clutch transmission. With a fully prepped track, the Ford GT's launch control offered a conservative 60' time of 1.78, not bad for street legal tires! The Aventador's roll racing shows just how capable a V12 can be against a twin turbo V6, so tell us what you think of this action in the comments below and stay with us for all your DragTimes updates! Dodge Hellcat Gets Bested By Decade-Old Shelby GT500 in D...

You can't deny the abilities of Dodge's SRT division. They have stuffed their supercharged 6.2-liter into everything from the Charger to the Jeep Trackhawk, and possibly a Ram truck next year. But everyone loves the Challenger Hellcat. It was built with drag racing in mind, and it can run consistent 11's all day long.  Check Out The Lamborghini Huracan Performante Specs! What you see in the far lane is obviously a Shelby Mustang GT500, but it has something special under the hood. The GT500 returned in 2007, powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8. It was very similar to the engine used in the Ford GT, making 500 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Being the king of Ford's "Modular" V8 family, the aftermarket has embraced it with heads, cams, and stroker kits.  It was only available with a six-speed manual, unlike the Hellcat which is offered in stick or automatic. One big difference between them is the Hellcat is almost 700 lbs heavier than the Mustang. We don't know why Ford only builds wild Mustangs in limited runs, but we have several to choose from in the links below.  Related: View All Shelby GT500 Mustangs For Sale Max Root Racing Applies for Ford GT Ford Series 1 Mustang RTR

Vaughn Gittin Jr Drifts the Nurburgring in His Mustang RTR

My first encounter with a Ford Mustang RTR was earlier this month at our Cars & Coffee show. They are built as the ultimate American drift machine. They can be purchased new, or the RTR conversion can be done at selected Ford Performance Dealers. They are the products of a collaboration between Ford and drifting legend Vaughn Gittin Jr. To show the world just how capable it is, he decided to perform the ultimate smoke show. Vaughn Gittin Jr. Rips His New Mustang RTR On Ice In a YouTube video uploaded yesterday, Vaughn drifted the entire 12.9 miles of the Nurburgring. Their latest build is a 900 horsepower beast, complete with a roll cage and all-new suspension. The sound of the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 bouncing off the rev limiter is a symphony, and it looks like the steering has great feedback for a perfect drift. Unless you have a tire sponsor and a closed track, please don't attempt this yourself. Ford Performance sells everything you see here, but you need a late-model Mustang GT as a starting point. Corvette ZR1 vs Ford GT in All-American Drag Race

This one was inevitable, and we figured it would be our friends at Dragtimes would make it happen. In their latest upload, Brooks in his yellow Ford GT challenge a new Corvette ZR1. Palm Beach International Raceway usually gets an afternoon shower this time of year, but last weekend was calm and clear.2018 Ford GT Specs, Price, Photos & ReviewChevrolet's latest Corvette prevails, at least on paper. It offers 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque. The opponent wearing the Blue Oval has 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. The weight difference is marginal, with Ford beating Chevy by 200 lbs. Since both cars were designed to run above 200 mph, a series of roll races will show you who wins the aerodynamic battle. In V-Max mode, the GT drops 2" and retracts the spoilers. The Corvette ZR1 has the "high wing", which is great for road courses. But at high speeds, it acts like a parachute, not ideal for drag racing. Tell us which one would win from a dig, and which one you would drive in the comments below.Browse Chevy Corvette ZR1 For Sale

Is the Ford GT Racing for a Nurburgring Record?

Breaking the Nurburgring Nordschleife record is something all automakers with fast cars look to do. Now, it looks like Ford and their GT supercar may be the latest company aiming to break the famed lap time record. As of recent, the 'Ring record torch was passed from the Lamborghini Huracan Performante to the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and, most recently, the Aventador SVJ with a time of 6:44.97. Could the GT break the new Lamborghini supercar's time? The Ford GT specs are definitely impressive. Powering the American supercar is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that pushes out an impressive 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. That kind of power is enough to launch the GT from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds.John Cena Settles Ford GT LawsuitSo, why do we think the car may be searching for a new record? YouTube channel cvdzijden recently filmed the GT taking laps around the famous circuit. Now, what I see in the video is a helmeted driver taking the corners very quickly and accelerating out of them like a madman. I'm not sure who exactly the driver is, but they seem like they're driving with a very specific purpose. Check it out for yourself by clicking play below.

Lamborghini Centenario Rev Battles Procharged Mustang GT350R

Have you ever seen a Mustang rev off against a Lamborghini? Probably not, but now you will. At the CF Charities Supercar Weekend, a Lamborghini Centenario showed up, as did a procharged 2017 Ford Shelby GT350R.Naturally, the owners of these two cars parked them back-to-back and pitted them against each other in a rev battle. On the one hand, you have a monster American muscle car, while the other is an Italian hypercar worth almost $2 million. That being said, each gives off an exhaust note that needs to be heard, making the video from DownShiftRecords below worth a play. The Lamborghini Centenario is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 770 hp, making it Lamborghini’s most powerful engine that they’ve ever produced. With a weight of 3,351 lbs and the power mentioned above, this hypercar will run 0-62 mph in just 2.8 seconds and 0-186 mph in 23.5 seconds. Its top speed is said to be over 217 mph.Ford's Shelby GT350R originally comes with a new 5.2-liter engine at 526 hp and 429 lb-ft, but the one in the video below is far from original. GlasWerks DMV told us this Mustang their own shop car, and it comes with new exhaust, headers and more. As for power, this GT350R pushes out over 700 hp and almost meets the horsepower rating of the Centenario.

2018 Ford GT Delivered to Brooks Weisblat from DragTimes

Our friend Brooks Weisblat has great taste in cars, but he might need to expand his garage thanks to the addition of a new Ford GT. In a YouTube video uploaded yesterday, he and his team had a BBQ at Autonation Ford of Miami. His blog says he was able to witness the car emerging from Stage 7 factory in Toronto. While they weren't allowed behind the scenes, his GT Concierge took a few shots of the assembly process. Your Concierge is assigned by Ford to handle your car from order to delivery. As such, he arrived at DragTimes HQ along with the custom-built Reliable Carriers trailer. Ford worked with reliable to build 5 special trailers that are the exclusive haulers of the GT. Much in the same way John Hennessey's car was delivered, Brooks also mentions future videos showing the process in detail.
