Discover The Graham Superlight Carbon Skeleton

Presented by Graham 1695 - The Graham Superlight Carbon Skeleton weighs less than100 grams. Its 47mm luminescent case is formed of epoxy resin infused with a blue or a green dye, while the widespread use of 3K carbon further contributes to the model’s featherlight mass. The open-worked dial reveals various components in motion and the chronograph trigger delivers an ergonomic interface between the watch and its wearer. The Graham Superlight Carbon Skeleton weighs less than 100 grams. Despite having a low mass, the model’s torso remains remarkably strong. The luminescent case is formed of epoxy resin, infused with a blue or a green dye while the movement holder is amplified by blue or green Super-LumiNova. Within its structure are metallized carbon fibers, presented in bronze tones, bestowing contrast. The Graham Superlight Carbon Skeleton is equipped with the brand’s legendary thumb-operated trigger, positioned on the left side of the case. This instrument is operated using the thumb, the fastest-acting digit. With this design, a right-handed person will instinctively place their plumpest digit on the trigger and press it intuitively at breakneck speed. Another key benefit of positioning the crown and trigger on the left is that it provides superior wearer comfort. Often when a watch is worn and the wearer flexes their wrist, the protrusions on the right flank of the case gouge the wrist, chafe the skin or inhibit free movement. No such problems affect the Graham Superlight Carbon Skeleton. Lastly, the trigger is formed of 3K carbon, again contributing to the model’s low mass. The black rubber reset pusher, embellished with Clous de Paris decoration, delivers notable grip, a useful attribute during the heat of competition. In common with all Graham chronographs, the Superlight Carbon Skeleton demonstrates the company’s overriding obsession with ergonomics. Graham doesn’t do ordinary or bland. Its watches are intended to engage with hearts and minds. The Superlight Carbon Skeleton features an open-worked dial revealing several naked components that are usually hidden from view. Prominent hour and minute hands, lined with Super-LumiNova, come to the fore to lucidly convey the time. Two counters, a 30-minute register at 3 o'clock and a small seconds counter at 9 o'clock, employ blue or green hands to impart meaning. The dial is framed with a black carbon (3K) bezel combining black and grey hues, underscoring the sporty character of the watch. Graham’s latest supermodel has observed a strict diet. She is light on the wrist and drop-dead gorgeous. Indeed, it’s difficult to resist her charms. Discover The Graham Superlight Carbon Skeleton Source: Graham 1695

It All Starts With an Idea – The BLAKEN Customization

Presented by Blaken - Around the world, Blaken is the number one service enterprise for customizing and personalizing luxury watches. An experienced team of specialists takes original luxury models from high-quality brands and, at their design studio in Menden, gives the timepieces a unique new look using their visual transformation process, transforming every aspect according to their client's individual desires. The transformation process is purely limited to visually redesigning and converting the original parts from the original brands. Blaken personalization is 100% in line with the "Made in Germany" mark, based on patented high-tech processes, and respects the original product throughout the process. Depending on the work required, the transformation can take up to twelve weeks, during which a team of master watchmakers, engineers, and materials experts turn a luxury watch into a personalized luxury watch. Harder than high-grade steel – the DLC coating The DLC coating process is what gives your Blaken that characteristic elegant slate-to-black look. DLC stands for “diamond-like carbon”. It takes more than 16 days for a Blaken to complete all of the steps in the personalization process, overseen and checked by our team of specialized engineers and materials experts. The result is a perfect jewel-like surface with a sheen and toughness virtually unsurpassable with the current state of science and technology. Our process is patented, making Blaken the only provider in the world to employ this technology. The protective, non-allergenic, diamond-like carbon layers are a mere 5 to 7 micrometers thin – to put this into context: an average sheet of standard writing paper is 80 micrometers thick. In addition, these coats are up to eight times harder than high-grade steel, making them extremely scratch-resistant. Originally these coatings were developed as wear protection for motor racing, aerospace and medical technology, as their low friction made them ideal for technical applications on steel and other cemented carbides. They represent a fusion of new design and durability standards, creating the perfect protective layers for luxury timepieces, whether worn by divers, skippers, mountaineers or CEOs. Visit Blaken.com

Fast forward 70+ years, Panerai is excited to have partnered with the marine/auto performance professionals at BRABUS on a commemorative watch for the release of the new Shadow 900 Black Ops Edition super-boat. The two luxury products share similarities in design, styling, technology, and performance. Powering the new Panerai x Brabus collaboration watch is the brand’s in-house P.4001/S Automatic Mechanical movement, which provides an astonishing 3-day power reserve. The back case features branded logo engravings to signifying the special collaboration. Maximus by Kerbedanz, The World’s Largest Tourbillon in a...

Presented by Kerbedanz - The two patents granted to KERBEDANZ for its Maximus timepiece, which already holds the title of the world's largest Tourbillon, demonstrate that this micromechanical masterpiece is completely in keeping with the history of chronometry. Magnitude and Measurement of Time Since its launch, it has been difficult to avoid the media hype surrounding Maximus, this Kerbedanz masterpiece embodying complicated watchmaking excellence that has not compromised on extraordinary chronometric performance. Reliable and highly precise, this timepiece is in itself the epitome of a well-managed challenge, an amazing micromechanical feat. Excellence and Innovation The Kerbedanz Maximus Tourbillon is powered by the KRB-08 caliber, with its giant central flying tourbillon, featuring a straight-line lever escapement and a 27mm diameter cage. The timepiece is running at a frequency of 2.5 Hertz and its power reserve, which is displayed in a separate indicator, offers an autonomy of 54 hours. The 415 components movement is a testimony of the excellence and complexity of this timepiece. A new energy generator system pairing 4 barrels and an innovative regulator-assembly mechanism are the two patented innovations that add to the outstanding quality of the Maximus model by Kerbedanz. A piece recognizable by its domed sapphire crystal protecting the world’s largest Tourbillon mechanism in a wristwatch. The Winding Ritual Beyond the accomplished aesthetics signed Kerbedanz, the case back unveil its ultra-complex caliber through a sapphire crystal glass and a sort of mechanical star. This is the manual winding system, which must be held with two fingers and rotated to wind up the four barrels simultaneously through a central planetary gear. A subtle ritual that is particularly impressive for aficionados, especially since it is accompanied by a very pleasant clicking sound. Presented by WatchBox De Bethune DB28 “Kind of Gold” DB28BRUS WatchBox 10-piece U.S. Limited Edition  The 42.7mm diameter case is constructed of 18k rose gold with blued titanium, spring loaded, floating lugs that articulate with the wear’s wrist giving the timepiece one of the most comfortable  Any scuffs or wear to the blued treatment can be re-treated back to like new blue The watch is equipped with a moon phase indicating sphere at 6 o’clock that is consisted of golden oxidized steel and palladium.  The open balance incorporates 3 separate shock absorbent devices to help ensure the watch can be worn in a more sports inspired manner Clean, modern, futuristic in design, De Bethune is in a world of their own making fewer than 200 watches per year.   Robert Downey Jr. is a huge fan of the brand and wore a De Bethune for the press release of The Avengers Endgame  The brand De Bethune as a whole makes some of the most impressive horological masterpieces one can acquire.  They’re a perfect blend of watchmaking as an art form, technological advancements, and futuristic design.  Very few watch brands dabble in the world of the unconventional, creating masterpieces that can blend in at times but also stand out from the crowd when needed.  I would equate De Bethune, and the DB28 lineup as a whole, to being the equivalent of the Koenigsegg or Pagani of high horology watches.  This brand is the hypercar of our incredible industry, which are not cheap by any means, but are are an incredible value when factoring what you’re getting for your money.  This DB28 “Kind of Gold” is a timepiece that makes you feel like Tony Stark/Iron Man when you throw it on the wrist!  The quality is out of this world, with everything being constructed entirely in-house by the brand. Shop De Bethune at WatchBox H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Flyback Chronograph “Funky Blue” 6902-1201 WatchBox The brand makes fewer than 1,500 watches per year Case size is 42.3mm The watch captivates the spirit of the 70s/80s while still being a very modern timepiece, like a Porsche 911, the design may age but it never gets old Moser watches completely live up to the brand’s slogan of “Very Rare” while also bringing a modern, clean, and even sexy vibe with their pops of color.  Their fumé dials that have a sunburst gradient effect that changes tones depending on how much light hits them Comfortable ergonomics, clean lines, sporty colors paired with an easy-to-use flyback chronograph makes this H. Moser & Cie Streamliner the perfect track day watch. 120m water resistance means you can go from the track to the pool/beach without having to worry about changing watches. Moser is my personal favorite brand, mostly because of the dials, robust in-house manufactured movements, comfortable/well styled case designs…but also the people behind this brand really make H. Moser something special in a unique way.  The CEO/Owner of H. Moser & Cie, Edouard (and also his brother) are at the forefront of the brand.  He’s always responding to comments/questions on social media; event part of many watch collector FB groups where he actively participates with collectors & enthusiasts alike…how many brands’ CEO’s can you think of that’re this accessible without you spending millions and millions of dollars with them? Shop H.Moser & Cie at WatchBox Richard Mille RM67-02 WatchBox Carbon fiber case construction, making these extremely lightweight and durable A brand that is car/racing inspired and had partnered with several brands including their latest collab with Ferrari. The RM67-02 is a timepiece that (thanks to its modern/sleek design) makes sense paired with any supercar; from the likes of the McLaren 650R to that of the Lamborghini SVJ, the Audi R8 or even a Ferrari 488 Pista.  The blend of dark tones from the carbon gives this timepiece an aggressive almost mean stance, like looking down the lines of an Huracan Evo, it comes across as very modern, clean, and sexy.  It’s a watch that wears so incredibly well thanks to its lightweight carbon construction, tonneau shape and thin profile.  Richard Mille also has a bunch of strap options for these pieces that gives the watch a more personal feel.   Shop Richard Mille at WatchBox F.P. Journe Linesport Centigraphe Yellow Dial WatchBox 44mm titanium case with a titanium and rubber bumper constructed bracelet for a sportier feel on the wrist. Movement is constructed of aluminum  Lightweight and race inspired  F.P. Journe makes fewer than 1,000 watches per year with many of their timepieces being highly sought after, this has led to their pre-owned prices growing as it becomes more difficult to get them new.  The F.P. Journe Linesport collection (as a whole) is my absolute favorite collection within the Journe catalogue.  Because of their titanium construction (and aluminum movements) these watches are so light and comfortable on the wrist you could almost forget you’re wearing it…and they look oh so good behind the wheel!  Whether you’re wearing your driving gloves while cruising in a classic British Racing Green Jaguar E-Type or aggressively downshifting with the paddles in an Ultra Violet Purple GT3 RS, these Linesport pieces are right at home!  I decided to pick the yellow dial variant here because, not only is it my personal favorite because of that dial (which reminds me of Porsche Speed Yellow), but I also felt that this made for a more playful/sporty look that easily matches with any car. Graham Fortress Ltd: Left Field, But Logical

Presented by Graham Watches - The Graham Fortress is a chronograph equipped with a monopusher set within the crown. By placing the monopusher/crown on the left flank of the case, the watch breaks with convention. However, there is much sense in taking this unusual approach to chronograph design. What's in a name? The Fortress upholds Graham's fondness for aviation-themed product names. Perhaps its moniker doffs its hat to the Flying Fortress of the 1930s? Alternatively, the word 'fortress' may evoke thoughts of military strongholds or castles and, by default, elicit images of strong, castellated buildings and impregnable structures. All of these associations are consistent with the tough nature of this new Graham model. To really understand the watch brand from La Chaux-de-Fonds, a person has to think like Graham, ie don't subscribe to convention or accept mediocrity; be #bold and #brave. If a sign says 'keep off the grass', put on a pair of big boots and do a jig on the turf. If other brands choose to place push-pieces on the righthand side of the case, then break the rules and go for a leftfield approach. Indeed, as you look at the new Fortress from Graham you will note a monopusher located on the left flank of the case. This lone pusher, positioned in the top of the crown, starts, stops and resets the chronograph. It's a #one-stop shop for all of your stopwatch needs. By combining it with the crown it endows the case with a clean, uncluttered profile. But a leftfield design can also be eminently logical. A pusher on the left side of the case proves more #intuitive to use. When using a chronograph, the wearer observes the start of an event, actuates the stopwatch function and, thereafter, at the end of the event, halts the timer. The potential problem is the human factor, namely the time gap between seeing an event and pressing the push-piece. The shorter the gap between observation and pressing the pusher, the more validity the recorded elapsed time really has. The thumb is the fastest acting digit, hence with this design, a right-handed person will instinctively place their plumpest digit on the push-piece and press it with lightning-bolt alacrity. Another key benefit of positioning the combined crown and monopusher on the left is superior wearer comfort. Often when a watch is worn and the wearer flexes their wrist, the protrusions on the right flank of the case gouge the wrist, chafe the skin or inhibit free movement. The Fortress's leftfield approach causes no such problems. The blue sunray dial and the black grained dial feature #bold, luminescent hour and minutes which collaborate with ample, applied Arabic numerals, imparting meaning. The dial has two circular brushed counters, a small seconds display at 3 o'clock and a 30-minute chronograph register at 6 o'clock. A date display is located adjacent the monopusher/crown. Housed in a 47mm stainless steel case, the generous proportions of the watch confer impressive wrist presence, while the exhibition caseback affords sight of the Fortress's Swiss automatic movement. This rebellious firm doesn’t subscribe to slick marketing, it chooses to focus on making excellent watches, rich in character. Indeed, the Graham Fortress Ltd is a serious watch from a company who still knows how to have #fun. Visit Graham1695.com

The Patek Philippe 59901R features a self-winding in-house movement equipped to hold two timezones: local and home time indication. The 40.5mm Rose Gold sport model holds a 120-meter water resistance, protecting the desirable Sunburst Blue dial from any outside forces. A matching rose gold bracelet and Nautilus fold-over clasp completes the luxury-styling of the Patek Philippe 59901R. Shop Patek Philippe George Mayer: FP Journe Jade tourbillon platinum braceletgeorge@govbergwatches.com  While the challenges of producing dials in stone are well known to other manufacturers, mostly these are produced in circular disk making the cutting action simpler and minimizing the risk of stress points from corners. F.P. Journe being F.P. Journe took a different approach. While ideally the stone dial would be cut from one piece, due to the configuration of apertures on the dial, it would not be possible due to the small amounts of material around the tourbillon and the offset dial, as well as the constant risk of fracture during cutting. The two crescent shaped pieces above and below are still very complex with numerous curves and differing radii, as well as the screw holes which have to be drilled, making for what one can imagine is a nerve wracking experience for the maker as well as numerous failed attempts along the way, before a perfect example is produced. But all of the hard work pays off when one sees the illuminating effect created by the light passing through the ethereal green tone of the jade as well as the unique signature each dial has due to the veining within the stone. While it is impressive when viewed from afar, it takes on a whole new dimension when admired through a loupe. This particular example is further distinguished by the matching solid platinum bracelet which gives a watch known for its simplicity and compact nature, a suitably substantial feeling on the wrist making the owner abundantly aware of the importance of the work of art they are wearing. Lange & Söhne Datograph Flyback was introduced at the 1999 Baselworld as the world’s first chronograph based on the classic column-wheel principle with precisely jumping minute counter and patented oversized date. It stops events with a duration up to 30 minutes with an accuracy of one-fifth of a second. The precisely jumping minute counter allows easy reading of the stopped time. The flyback function allows the chronograph to be instantaneously reset to zero during an ongoing measurement by simply pressing the chronograph button. As soon as it is released, a new timing cycle begins, hence eliminating the need to stop a measurement and reset the stop hand before starting a new timing. The patented oversized date in the twin gold-framed window ensures excellent legibility. The movement consists of 405 parts, the plates and bridges are made of untreated German silver and finished with circular graining and Glashütte ribbing. The balance bridge is manually engraved with a master’s personal free-hand technique, making each Datograph a one-of-a-kind watch. Shop A. Keep Time, Preserve History with Vortic Watch Co.’s Limit...

Presented by Vortic Watch Company - Vortic Watch Company believes, “America wasn’t assembled, it was built.” The company is releasing its third Military Edition timepiece in honor of the U.S. Veterans. They aim to preserve a history of bravery, sacrifice, and hope. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s 50-piece limited release will be donated to the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative. In Odessa, Delaware, the Initiative trains Veterans to become professional watchmakers. It is also the only technical school exclusively dedicated to disabled Veterans. With the rise in popularity of vintage and mechanical wristwatches, there is an ever-growing need for skilled watchmakers to restore and service timepieces. Swiss companies seem to be defunding their schools in the U.S, meaning the Veterans Watchmaker Initiative might become the last of its kind. Vortic’s founders, R.T. Custer and Tyler Wolfe have donated over $75,000 to the Initiative and will continue with proceeds from this year’s Military Edition watch. The Military Edition watches will be released on Veterans Day, November 11th, 2021. They are 100% Made in America. Each watch carries its own unique story with it. he converted pocket watches were originally known as the Master Navigator’s Watch, “The Watch that Won the War,” and were flown in bombers during WWII. With only 100,000 pieces ever made between 1938-1950, each edition becomes rarer. This year’s 3rd Generation is flawlessly encased in stainless steel with an exhibition window to display the antique movement. The dial keeps military time against a magnificent black background.
