BMW of North America has released its Q2 2023 sales results, demonstrating remarkable growth and a strong focus on electric vehicles (EVs). In the second quarter of 2023, BMW brand sales reached an impressive total of 87,948 vehicles in the U.S., marking an 11.5% increase from the 78,905 vehicles sold in the same period of 2022. The first half of the year also showcased a promising trend, with BMW brand sales totaling 170,414 vehicles, representing an 11.7% increase compared to the previous year.
One of the key highlights of the report is the rising popularity of BMW’s fully electric models. With a more readily available inventory, the three fully electric models – the BMW i4, BMW iX, and BMW i7 – accounted for a significant 12.9% of total sales volume in the second quarter of 2023. This indicates a growing acceptance and preference for electric vehicles among customers. Impressively, BMW has already sold 17,964 fully electric vehicles in the first six months of 2023, surpassing the total sales achieved in the entirety of 2022.
Sebastian Mackensen, President and CEO of BMW of North America, expressed his excitement about the increasing popularity of electric vehicles within the brand’s lineup. He stated, “The word is out – the ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’ is also the ‘Ultimate Electric Driving Machine.’ As the enthusiasm around these great products grows, we continue to gain both momentum with customers and BEV share in the market.” This statement signifies the brand’s commitment to the future of sustainable mobility. Overall, BMW’s Q2 2023 sales report highlights the brand’s significant growth and dominance in the market. As BMW continues to prioritize innovation and sustainability, it solidifies its position as a leading player in the automotive industry’s ongoing electrification journey.
