The inaugural BMW SUV turns 25.
Since the first example rolled off the line in 1999, the BMW X5 has become one of the historic luxury automaker’s most important staples. After nearly 3 million BMW X5 examples have been made over the last 25 years, the historic luxury SUV is celebrating its 25th anniversary. BMW has introduced a new special edition of the X5 for the job.
The new BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition is based on the 2025 BMW X5 xDrive 40i. Its distinguishing features like trimmings normally seen with the M Sport package, 20-inch wheels, and standard BMW Individual Lime Rock Grey Metallic paintwork. In addition, the Silver Anniversary Edition badging is located at the tailgate. The interior features special touches like carbon fiber trim and a Silver Anniversary Edition plaque.
With the BMW xOffroad Package coming as standard on the X5 Silver Anniversary Edition, the vehicle celebrates the X5’s role as BMW’s first adventure-ready offering, with a suite of features that makes off-road driving more confident and easy than before. The limited edition vehicle (with a roughly 1,000-unit production run) will be available to order for customers come August 2024, and it will start at an MSRP of $79,900.
