2023 was a turning point and a magnificent year for Bugatti.
Known and celebrated for pushing just about every boundary of the automotive world: from performance, to engineering, to design, personalization, luxury, and exclusivity, Bugatti has a big and sweeping transformation on the horizon to look forward to. It’s announced its final model to be powered by the incredible quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine, and the clock is ticking towards the end of the two-decade era of Bugatti hypercars that represented the most aspirational creations in the automotive world.
With an incredible 2023 in the books, Bugatti looks forward to entering a new and innovative chapter in its century-long history, and it’s celebrating one of the greatest years yet in its modern hypercar resurgence. It started with the unveiling and sale of the Chiron Profileé, a model that would have been a part of the Chiron lineup but was introduced too late. The one-off went on to sell at an RM Sotheby’s auction and become the most expensive new car ever sold.
As just one of the 81 Bugatti hypercars delivered in 2023, after the sale of the Chiron Profileé, the year started off with a bang and continued to be incredible. Bugatti’s Sur Mesure personalization program blossomed, with one of the most incredible examples of its capabilities being the Chiron Super Sport “Golden Era,” a Sur Mesure one-off unveiled at last year’s Monterey Car Week, featuring hand-drawn depictions of Bugatti’s history through the decades.
Events like Bugatti’s first Luxury Summitt, as well as the 400 km/h Drive and Grand Tours in both Europe and the United States showed off Bugatti’s ability to deliver when it comes to luxury, performance, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. At the 100th 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Bugatti Bolide made its public dynamic debut, showing off Bugatti’s on-track prowess.
In 2024, Bugatti’s historic home at Molsheim will expand again with the introduction of a new building. In addition, the sold-out Bolide and Mistral are set to be delivered to their clients as Bugatti readies itself to dive headfirst into a completely new and fascinating era.
