Bugatti pulls the curtain back on an important behind-the-scenes moment.
The new Bugatti Tourbillon is an absolute hypercar sensation. When it was revealed, all 250 allocations for the masterpiece were spoken for only shortly after, and it delivered on its immense expectations. Those were, of course, set by the Tourbillon’s legendary predecessors, the quad-turbocharged W16-powered Chiron and the Veyron before it. However, rather than employing the W16, the new Bugatti Tourbillon opted for a naturally-aspirated V16 engine from Cosworth, paired with a hybrid system for an unimaginable 1,800 horsepower.
While the public has only known about the Tourbillon for a few months, the new incredible Bugatti hypercar results from years of development. ‘A New Era: Determining the Future’ is a docuseries on Bugatti’s YouTube channel that chronicles the long and intense process that resulted in the Tourbillon of today. The latest episode focuses on the design and aesthetics of the new car, showing the moment in February 2022 when Bugatti’s design team presented proposals for the new car.
Starting as sketches, these proposals then slowly came to life as CAD models and were whittled down to three final proposals. The cars were then presented as full-size painted models. Those models were presented to the board, and the final design would go through feasibility studies over the coming months. It was one of the most important breakthroughs in the development of the Tourbillon, finalizing what the incredible new hypercar sensation would look like. As part of the ‘A New Era: Determining the Future’ docuseries, you can watch it now as a captivating chapter in the long journey towards the 2026 deliveries of the Bugatti Tourbillon hypercar.
