2020 Camaro ZL1 1LE Receives 10-Speed Automatic

When Chevrolet decided to give the 2019 Camaro a makeover, the updated styling wasn’t shared with the most powerful model. That’s because the Camaro ZL1 1LE is a track-focused downforce machine. Like the Z/28 that appeared in 2015, the top-dog Camaro has been only offered with three pedals. Those days are over, as their latest press release reveals the 2020 Camaro ZL1 1LE receives the 10-speed automatic transmission.

It allows the fancy F-body to lap the Milford Proving Grounds 0.5 seconds faster than the six-speed. Since Ford and GM developed it together, it has also proven to be bulletproof in the latest Raptor. The “normal” ZL1 without the 1LE package has offered this since it was introduced in 2017, but it does without the hardcore aerodynamics and with 50 extra lbs.
