In the late-to-mid 1990s, the ‘donk’ car culture made its start in South Florida, quickly evolving into a community of passionate car customizers worldwide. Today, these high-riding classics line the streets with bespoke builds that represent the personalities of each owner, featuring jaw-dropping paint jobs, hydraulic suspensions, top-notch audio systems, and loud-revving V8 engines. The West Coast automotive professionals at Wires Only are pleased to showcase this award-winning, custom 1975 Chevrolet Caprice as part of its vast inventory of luxury cars, supercars, and hypercars for sale on duPont REGISTRY.
Along with being built exclusively by I95 Motorsports, one of the most creative customization shops in the world, its other claim to fame is winning “Best Donk” at the 2023 Rick Ross Car Show in Atlanta, Georgia. Nicknamed “BIPOLAR”, the Chevy Caprice went through an extensive frame-off build at I95 Motorsports’ shop in South Florida. An immaculate color-shifting green finish and matching canvas top pair perfectly with its polished gold accents. The gold-plated components include everything under the hood, all nuts and bolts, Global West suspension, Viking coilovers, and Strange ladder bars. A set of gold 26-inch Forgiato wire wheels complete its custom exterior look, hiding 6-piston 14-inch Baer brakes.
The once-factory interior of the Chevrolet Caprice has been completely reimagined in a green leather and gold design that perfectly mirrors its exterior. The most noticeable characteristic of this lowrider is its custom gold Forgiato steering wheel wrapped in green leather, as well as all the gold-plated trim pieces. The trunk itself dedicates its space to storing a massive audio system that displays subwoofers, green LEDs, and sound control settings.
Under the hood lies a supercharged LT4 V8 engine that replaces the factory 350 cubic inch V8, managed by a Wegner Automotive drive system. Its color-matched engine lid and billet engraved valve covers add that extra touch of personalization. The deep growl of the Caprice’s new powerplant is echoed through a custom stainless steel exhaust with electronic cutouts. With so many additional small and hidden upgrades, this proves to be one of the craziest custom builds on the market today.
