The mid-engined Corvette Z06 is ready to hit the road, and Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction is where the first one will be sold.

The Corvette Z06 has been a defining Corvette model for decades, as it has always been the Corvette that pushes the platform further towards the cutting edge of performance, dynamics, and power. Now that the eighth generation of the Corvette finally features the mid-engined layout that Corvette fans have been promised since the Corvette’s early days, the Z06 model has been given the potential to make the Corvette capable of performance it would have never thought possible with a front-engined layout. With the engine behind the cockpit, weight distribution and aerodynamics are able to be dramatically improved, and with the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated V-8 engine in a production car at 670 horsepower, and the ability to rev up to 8,600 rpm, the Z06 is the result of a very exciting combination.

And for the 2023 model year, the C8 Z06 is finally ready to go into production and be sold, with the inaugural example set to sell at a special venue. Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction will be selling the first production 2023 Corvette Z06, with the entire price benefitting Operation Homefront, a nonprofit dedicated to helping military families. The car is set to sell on January 29, at approximately 8:30 PM MT, and when it does, it’s going to mark the beginning of a new chapter of the American legend that is the Corvette.
