Genesis’ performance division comes one step closer to fruition.
With years of performance-oriented concept cars all drenched in the same arresting, DayGlo-esque orange hue, Genesis has been telling a story with color. The manufacturer, making significant waves in the luxury automotive space despite being relatively new, calls it Magma. It’s become the name of a new performance division from Genesis, showcased for the first time in action at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Genesis joined with racing legend Jacky Ickx for his racing expertise and legacy regarding upcoming Genesis Magma models, which the manufacturer says will combine enhanced luxury with revised performance and engaging driving character. At the prestigious event, the Genesis GV60 Magma concept will take on the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, along with the Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept and the Genesis G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife.
The Genesis GV60 Magma Concept is slated to be the first to become a production model, with production and sales in Korea aimed to commence in the third quarter of 2025. It will resemble the concept with a lowered stance, revised aesthetics and aerodynamics, and bolstered performance with a unique sound system and driving experience. Also on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be other Genesis Magma Concept vehicles and Genesis’ current electrified lineup. With its performance-oriented lineup going into production soon, Genesis is on the cusp of a new chapter in its luxury automotive excellence.
