The two big winners continue to preserve their place in automotive history.
The Amelia’s 30th Annual Concours d’Elegance wrapped up with two impressive winners stealing the spotlight throughout the weekend of fuel-driven festivities. Out of more than 240 historically significant cars on display, a 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 took home Best of Show – Concours d’Elegance, while a 1967 Lotus 49 earned Best of Show – Concours de Sport. The Alfa Romeo, believed to be a prototype for the 1938 Mille Miglia race, once belonged to Italian racing legend Giuseppe Farina and features a special short chassis design with specific engine details. Meanwhile, the Lotus 49 holds a strong racing history, having been driven by icons like Jimmy Clark, Jackie Oliver, Jo Siffert, and Mario Andretti before being restored by Classic Team Lotus in 2010.
