Since its introduction in 2020, the Genesi GV80 has carved a lane for itself as a value-packed full-size luxury SUV. It arrived as the Korean carmaker’s first SUV product, a range that has expanded to include the smaller GV70 and the fully electric GV60.
The GV80 is available with one of two engines. The first is a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four. It develops 300 horsepower and 311-pound feet, resulting in a respectable 6.9-second dash to 60 mph. The second and more powerful unit is a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 producing 375 hp and 391 lb-ft. The 0-60 time improves to 5.5 seconds. Both versions come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Power aside, it’s the GV80’s available features for the price that make it such a value-packed model. You get heated front seats, a power liftgate, and a sizable 14.5-inch touchscreen as standard. However, as part of the Prestige trim, larder 22-inch wheels, a digital instrument cluster, and a full Nappa leather interior are also available.
Even with optional extras, the GV80 still undercuts competitors from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. A base 2.5 GV80 starts at $56,925 while it tops out at $77,695, loaded with a more powerful engine and additional luxury features.
