2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
t is hard to improve upon perfection. Asking Porsche to improve the 911 GT3 RS is like asking Steinway for a better piano, or Edison for a better lightbulb. Nevertheless, they went back to the drawing board, the same one they’ve used for 70 years.
The meanest naturally-aspirated 911 is built from carbon-fiber, magnesium, and forged aluminum. Like a wine glass, each one has its own vibration frequency. That is why Porsche doesn’t tune individual car components. Much like Mr. Stienway’s Piano, the GT3 RS was relentlessly tuned as a complete unit. The resonance frequency of the entire car is well above 155 mph, which is something no other manufacturer has even considered.
