Ferrari has just announced that they have hired former Apple design Jony Ive. In this announcement, Ive’s company LoveFrom will be partnering with both Ferrari and Exor, a holding company controlled by the Agnelli family. As part of this partnership, Ive will be bringing his famous design expertise to the iconic automotive brand.
“Soon after LoveFrom was founded we began to talk with Jony and Marc about opportunities to combine their world-renowned creativity with ours, in complementary and incremental ways,” said John Elkann, Chairman and CEO of Exor and Chairman of Ferrari. “Ferrari represents a first, exciting chance to do great things together as we build our future.”
As for what Ive will be assisting Ferrari with remains unsaid. However, he could certainly bring his expertise to Ferrari’s lifestyle products and even their first electric car that’s planned for 2025.
