Ferrari brings its new hybrid hypercar sensation to Le Mans.
This week marks the 2025 iteration of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the world’s most revered endurance race and one of the most daunting challenges in the motorsport world. For over a century, the race has put manufacturers, engineers, racing teams, and drivers alike to the ultimate test, and some of the most celebrated legacies in the automotive world were formed on the venerated racing stage in France.
As the motorsport world prepares for this year’s race, the victor of the last two 24 Hours of Le Mans races, Ferrari, which returned to the top class of endurance racing after an incredibly long 50-year hiatus to snatch victory twice in a row, is making a grand entrance to the legendary circuit, with the new F80, Ferrari’s latest halo hypercar, basking in the spotlight.
The Ferrari F80 succeeds the venerated “Big Five” Ferrari halo supercars: the 288 GTO, the F40, the F50, the Enzo, and the LaFerrari, some of the most influential and desirable collector-worthy performance cars ever made, as the latest limited-production performance masterpiece from the brand. With a twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain, the F80 develops an unfathomable 1,200 horsepower, making it the most powerful roadgoing Ferrari yet.
Much of the F80’s engineering, including its powertrain, is derived from the performance excellence of Ferrari’s 499P racing hypercar, the very machine that claimed victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans two years in a row. Without racing series regulations to govern its power and performance ability, the F80 shows off incredible performance potential, and in preparation for this year’s race, Ferrari brought the new F80 to the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe, where the 24 Hours of Le Mans takes place, for a photoshoot of the new halo hypercar at the glorious motorsport venue. With its groundbreaking performance and motorsport pedigree, the F80 era of Ferrari is an incredibly exciting one.
