Leake Auction Company is revving into high gear in preparation for its inaugural Scottsdale, Arizona auction event January 15-19, 2020.
The buzz surrounding Scottsdale comes from the featured “Cars of Dreams” collection of internationally recognized collector John Stallupi, who is selling nearly 120 vehicles.
Leake, a Ritchie Bros.-owned company, will be hosting its multi-day auction during Scottsdale’s Auto Auction Week at Salt River Fields in January.
“Our phones have been ringing off the hook,” said Gary Bennett, General Manager, Ritchie Bros’ Collector Car Sector. “It’s been unbelievable.”
John Stallupi’s cars are pure Americana, with equal parts class and heritage. Among the big-ticket items selling in Scottsdale without reserve is a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette, a 1958 Eldorado Biarritz convertible and a 1959 Chrysler 300E.
“John’s collection of vehicles is simply breathtaking,” said Bennett. “John has a very discerning eye for detail and a magical understanding of the collector car market. We are honored to offer his vehicles without reserve during our inaugural auction in Scottsdale.”
The Scottsdale auction will be the biggest in the storied history of Leake – America’s first collector car auction. Founded on integrity, credibility and transparency, Leake now boasts a team of industry experts like Gary to provide decades of world-class collector car auction knowledge, along with a customer-first approach.
“Relationships are built on one thing: trust,” said Gary. “That is paramount. You treat people fairly. You treat people consistently. And you always do the right thing.”
Gary and his team are looking forward to incorporating the resources of Ritchie Bros. to push for greater disruption in the industry and reach a new audience. That means forming a relationship with a younger, digital consumer and connecting with them through online and mobile platforms.
With Ritchie Bros. online audience of 3.9 million registered users, Leake has one of the largest potential buyer bases in the collector car industry.
“We are going back to the basics, but with a forward-thinking approach around the customer journey,” said Bennett.
