Up for sale right now on duPontREGISTRY.com is a one-of-a-kind Ford Mustang that has a massive amount of history and charity behind it. This 2009 Ford Mustang named “AV8R” was first created for the Gathering of Eagles charity auction at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh in 2008.
The team behind this wonderful Mustang included Mustang Design Chief Doug Gaffka and Mustang Chief Nameplate Engineer Paul Randle. As for what they specifically did to make the AV8R a fully-custom build, there’s quite a lot.
For power, the Mustang AV8R relies on a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 engine that’s capable of producing 400 horsepower. Mated to the engine is a 6-speed manual transmission. Other mechanical features include the Ford Racing Handling Pack with dampers, lowering springs, anti-roll bar kit and strut tower brace, and a Ford Racing tuned exhaust.
Allowing the AV8R Mustang to stand out is a special satin livery that’s inspired by the world of aviation. There is also a glass roof canopy with Star-in-Circle insignia laminate glass, a Mustang Bullitt grille, and more. Inside is an interior that includes unique “bomber jacket” leather inserts. Also, the interior is where you’ll find the signatures of the following: Carroll Shelby, Jack Rousch, Edsel B. Ford II, Paul Randle, Harrison Ford, Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth.
With just 66.1 original miles on the odometer, this incredibly unique Mustang is ready for a new home. For more information, click the button below.
