As far as air-cooled Porsche 911s go, 1995’s Carrera RS sits among some of the rarest and most desirable models ever produced.
Powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six, Porsche built the RS as a road-going homage to its 3.8-liter RSR race car. It develops 296 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, routed to the rear wheels exclusively via a six-speed manual transmission.
According to RM Sothebys, the German carmaker produced around 1,100 units worldwide, of which 274 rolled off the production line as 1995 model year cars. Adding to this car’s rarity is that no RS was ever directly exported for the US market.
This particular RS is currently listed for sale by Graham Rahal Performance out of Brownsburg, Indiana, with an asking price of $649,995 and shows 73,154 kilometers on the clock (45,455 miles).
It wears a bright Riviera Blue finished exterior with a contrasting black leather interior. This vehicle also features the optional Clubsport Aero Package, which helps give the RS its distinct aesthetic.
