Two of Ford’s greatest racing legends come back to life.
For decades, Ford has been one of the most celebrated names in rally and road racing. Across the globe, names like the Ford Escort and Ford RS200 conjure respected racing legacies, achieved by cars that are still coveted and talked about today. Those legends are coming back to life through a new licensing agreement forged between Ford Motor Company and Boreham Motorworks.
Boreham Motorworks, a division of DRVN Automotive Group, is a UK-based specialist in Ford cars and has become a licensed partner of Ford to produce continuation and remastered versions of Ford’s icons, starting with two legendary cars: the MK1 Escort and the RS200. Both racing legends in the 60s and 80s, the Ford MK1 Escort and Ford RS200, are incredible cars in the manufacturer’s long history. Now, they are revived and modernized with Boreham Motorworks, and these revivals are just the beginning of what Boreham Motorworks has in store for the future.
The first car in the series will recreate the Ford RS200, a legendary mid-engined Group B homologation car that lives on as one of the most revered and unique cars from the unforgettable era. Boreham Motorworks will build the new recreation from the ground up to be road legal, capturing the wonder of its unique approach to performance and advanced four-wheel drive system.
Boreham Motorworks will also introduce a continuation series for the MK1 Ford Escort, reviving original cars with period-sympathetic and blueprint-accurate methods. Both cars are the beginning of a series that will include homages and revivals to at least five more historic Ford icons, and they will be produced in strictly limited numbers, with owners becoming part of the exclusive Boreham High Performance Club.
As Ford is poised to revitalize its motorsport presence by returning to F1 and battling for victories at Le Mans, the Dakar Rally, and more, Boreham Motorworks has partnered with the historic manufacturer to celebrate two of Ford’s most legendary race cars from decades past.
