Ford Performance is revving up excitement with the reveal of its F-150 Lightning SuperTruck EV in camouflage, gearing up for testing ahead of its highly anticipated return to Pikes Peak. America’s Mountain will see the legendary Romain Dumas, current record holder, piloting this beast to the top on June 23, 2024. With aerodynamics designed to achieve a whopping 6,000 lbs of downforce at 150 mph, the truck is built for the unusual challenges of the Pikes Peak ascent. Insights gained from tackling Pikes Peak will influence software calibration and battery cell chemistry for future production vehicles and race programs.
Last year, Ford’s Electric SuperVan 4.2 set a new Open Class record at Pikes Peak, completing the course in a blistering 8:47.682.
