Genesis GV60 Magma Undergoes Final Testing

Genesis approaches the beginning of its new performance division.

In recent years, various concept cars from Genesis, one of the newest and most buzzworthy luxury automotive manufacturers on the market, have all shared one thing in common: a striking, deeply saturated orange interior color called Magma. Those concepts, from stunning virtual grand tourers to high-octane variants of Genesis staples and a forward-looking vision at what would become the now-popular GV80 Coupe, all shared the color, which hinted at an upcoming performance division from the brand with the same name.

The upcoming Genesis Magma performance division was previewed with a concept version of the Genesis GV60 Magma, a car that was promised to be the first in the Magma lineup. Now, the production version of the GV60 Magma has undergone its final testing ahead of its global premiere as the Genesis brand prepares to celebrate its tenth anniversary.

The GV60 Magma has undergone testing in incredibly varied conditions, beginning in the extreme cold of Arjeplog, Sweden in winter, and continuing with extreme heat in California, high altitude in New Zealand, and road and track testing in Genesis’ home, Korea.

As Genesis prepares not only to use the Magma nameplate to enter the racing arena with an incredibly ambitious hypercar campaign with sights set on a 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, but also to introduce the Magma brand to the road, the Genesis GV60 Magma’s imminent premiere will be the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
