Mercedes-Benz USA experiences a 284% surge in EQ sales in Q3 2023, with electric vehicles making up 14% of the year’s passenger vehicle sales.
Mercedes-Benz USA has been riding high, as their impressive Q3 2023 sales numbers reflect an upward trend for the world-renowned manufacturer. Mercedes reported that sales of their electric EQ lineup skyrocketed, showcasing an impressive growth of 284% compared to 2022, reaching 10,423 units. This electric boom means that EQs now make up 14% of the brand’s overall vehicle sales for the year. The growth doesn’t stop there, with top-end vehicle segments witnessing an 11% increase in Q3 2023 with 21,020 units flying off the production line. Within this segment, the S-Class model stood out with a 48% sales rise. On the electric front, the EQS SUV showed its success with 1,596 units sold. Moving to Mercedes-Benz’s core, the E-Class noted a 25% growth with 4,827 units sold.
Entry-level models also recorded an 11% increase compared to Q3 2022. The EQB electric model achieved a 343% sales growth, highlighting the brand’s ability to cater to diverse markets. In the commercial space, Mercedes-Benz Vans reported a hearty 24% sales jump in Q3, pushing the year-to-date growth to 6%. This sets an encouraging stage for the launch of their eSprinter, the first fully electric van for North America. Dimitris Psillakis, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, expressed enthusiasm over the robust sales, especially highlighting the EQE SUV and EQS SUV.
