INEOS explores the future potential of its 4×4 lineup.
With the Grenadier, INEOS Automotive brought a new entry into the competitive market of go-anywhere off-roading vehicles, dominated by staples with cult followings, unmistakable silhouettes, and decades-long legacies. Despite this, the Grenadier has proven successful, combining versatility with capability, luxury, and rugged style. Now at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, INEOS Automotive is previewing possible next moves, with the debut of a fleet of prototypes that may foretell its future.
The first two are portal-axled versions of the Grenadier SUV and the Grenadier Quartermaster pickup, modified by Le Tech to have greater wade depth and increased ground clearance. Along with those prototypes are a shortened Quartermaster pickup, nicknamed “Shortermaster,” and a V8-powered Grenadier SUV modified by INEOS engineering partner Magna. After that are an 8-seater Safari conversion and an FIA-compliant rally-ready Grenadier by Buzz Special Vehicles.
With its existing success as a rugged off-roading machine, the INEOS Grenadier is only at the beginning of making its mark on the world of adventuring 4x4s, as evidenced by the debuts of creative, unique reinterpretations of it, whether that be swapping its BMW-derived 3.0-liter inline-six engine for a 6.2-liter V8 engine from GM, modifying it for rally racing, or for a Safari expedition. For INEOS Automotive, the future of exploration off the beaten path is incredibly exciting.
