Created in 1925 and officially opened in 1927, the Nürburgring has set the benchmark for performance of supercars for just under 100 years, testing the best of the best with its steep inclines, quick turns and changes in elevation. Its North Loop, known as the Nordschleife, is approximately 14 miles of the full 17.563-mile course, and possibly the most well-known area for tests of mettle.
As the website for the track tells us, a reporter’s at the track for its opening race June 18, 1927, said, “that it seemed as if a reeling, drunken giant had been sent out to determine the route.”
The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, or the Aventador SV for short, is a limited run of 600 Aventadors featuring an impossibly powerful 6.5-liter V12 capable of 750 hp and 509 lb-ft. It’ll take you from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, deliver you all the way to a top speed of 217 mph and cost you a cool $504,264 to add to your collection.
Everyone knew it would be impressive when this beast finally took on on the infamous Nürburgring, but nobody could have guessed it would be quite this exhilarating.

Added to YouTube by Lamborghini May 16 is a first-hand look at the Aventador SV tearing through the course, shoving its way into the position of fourth car to ever complete the track in less than seven minutes. It clocked in at 6:59:57, nearly ten seconds faster than the next fastest vehicle and just two seconds behind the Porsche 918 Spyder.
