Lamborghini showed off its celebrated Italian automotive excellence on the shores of Lake Como.
Two incredible automotive events took place this past weekend, both highly anticipated parts of the global event calendar, and both taking place on the glittering coastline of Italy’s Lake Como. Those were the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and the FuoriConcorso, both events designed to display and celebrate some of the world’s favorite luxury and exotic vehicles in the midst of one of Europe’s most iconic summer destinations.
One of the many manufacturers that participated in the festivities was Lamborghini, bringing its contributions to automotive history to the forefront, simultaneously with its celebration of the tenth anniversary of Lamborghini Polo Storico, the arm of the manufacturer dedicated to preserving and celebrating its rich 60-year legacy of performance, engineering, and design excellence.
While the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza was focused on celebrating historic masterpieces, the more youthful FuoriConcorso featured a theme of “Velocissimo,” placing focus on race cars. Lamborghini brought a 1972 Miura SV, which was certified by Polo Storico, to Villa d’Este, which was the only Lamborghini in the competition at the event. Meanwhile at FuoriConcorso, Lamborghini brought the Diablo SVR, a Formula 1 single-seater from its museum collection, and a Countach LP400 S “Pace Car,” used as a Safety Car at the 1981 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, which had its Certificate of Authenticity handed over to its owner at Villa Grumello, the event’s venue.
With two different aspects of its cherished legacy of automotive excellence on display on Lake Como, Lamborghini brought an incredible spectacle to both the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and the FuoriConcorso this year.
