Replacing the Huracán’s V10 was no easy task, but the Temerario is up to the job.
Lamborghini recently unveiled its latest supercar: the Temerario. Replacing the iconic Huracán, and sadly ending Lamborghini’s two generations of V10-powered entry-level supercars, the Temerario introduces a new powertrain to Lamborghini’s lineup: a hybridized 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that uses incredible engineering to develop over 900 horsepower in total. In addition, the new engine allows for greater interior space and efficiency thanks to its electrification.
To surpass the Huracán’s performance and create a defining new hybrid supercar, Lamborghini engineers took painstaking effort to make the Temerario’s engine a masterpiece. It revs to a soaring redline of 10,000 rpm, and it reaches its peak power between 9,000 and 9,750 rpm, while it reaches its peak torque between 4,000 and 7,000. The two turbos are placed inside the V of the V8 engine, a decision that optimizes the use of space and the thermal management of the engine.
Thanks to its high-revving capability, immense power, hybridization, and painstaking engineering, the new hybridized twin-turbo V8 of the new Lamborghini Temerario adopts the best aspects of its predecessors and the innovative abilities of Lamborghini’s new hybrid lineup, delivering power like a smooth, naturally aspirated engine with the efficiency and added power of turbochargers and hybrid systems.
