Jaguar Land Rover brings a new partner along for its electrification journey.
Jaguar Land Rover is on the cusp of a monumental transformation as a manufacturer. It is sending off its gasoline-powered vehicles in favor of an electric future, and testing is underway with a waitlist open for the first all-electric Range Rover. Its luxury icons are diving headfirst into the future. While electrification is a daunting task for car manufacturers, Jaguar Land Rover has enlisted a new partner to that end.
That partner is Fortescue, and JLR has just signed a multi-year deal with Fortescue to employ its ‘Elysia’ battery intelligence software in its next-generation electric vehicles. Using the software, JLR’s future electric vehicles will feature faster charging, increased range, and greater long-term reliability. The Fortescue Elysia software not only optimizes battery capacity and driving range but also prioritizes battery health, allowing the vehicle to last as long as possible and greater performance for second-life batteries.
Together with Fortescue with its Elysia technology, Jaguar Land Rover’s journey towards electrification promises to be even better than it has already been anticipated to be, and vehicles like the upcoming Range Rover Electric, as well as Jaguar’s upcoming line of next-generation EVs, will be better to own and drive as a result.
