The Range Rover’s electric future is on the horizon.
Jaguar Land Rover has been on a path towards transforming its iconic British luxury vehicle lineup through electrification, and one of the most anticipated parts of this transformation is the upcoming introduction of the Range Rover Electric, the all-electric rendition of the legendary Range Rover luxury SUV. The waitlist has been open for quite some time for the Range Rover Electric, and with over 48,000 clients interested in the next chapter of the luxury SUV, its launch will be an exciting milestone for the brand.
The development of the Range Rover Electric is in full swing, with prototypes now undergoing hot weather testing in the desert environment of the United Arab Emirates. The innovative engineering of the new Range Rover Electric will combine the Range Rover’s well-known off-road capabilities with the bold innovation of a new all-electric powertrain. As such, Land Rover says that the new Range Rover Electric is “anticipated to be the most capable electric luxury SUV.”
This is thanks to the Range Rover Electric’s well-balanced weight distribution, thanks to its battery placement in lieu of an engine, an advanced suspension system, and the vehicle’s new Intelligent Torque Management system, which is able to give the vehicle incredible control of its power on low-traction surfaces like the fine sand of dunes. One of the Range Rover Electric’s greatest feats was its ability to repeatedly climb 328 feet uphill on fine sand, making it reach the established and respected benchmark that its combustion-powered counterparts set. With robust testing results and a large waitlist, excitement is building for the Range Rover’s electric future.
