Maserati introduces a new open-top grand tourer on the ice.
The historic Trident brand has been known for decades for its luxurious and performance oriented Italian automotive masterpieces, and specifically for its grand touring excellence. The latest chapter of that legacy sees the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio being offered with a powerful Nettuno V6 engine and with an all-electric powertrain. However, the I.C.E. St. Moritz, an annual automotive event that takes place on a frozen lake in the legendary alpine ski destination of St. Moritz, served as the backdrop for a further expansion of Maserati’s GranTurismo and GranCabrio range.
Alongside the GranCabrio Trofeo and the GranCabrio Folgore, the new GranCabrio, revealed at the I.C.E. St. Moritz features as the new entry-level offering of the range, with a 483-horsepower variant of the 3.0-liter Nettuno twin-turbo V6 engine that also powers the Trofeo variant. The new GranCabrio, while not as powerful as the Trofeo, still features compelling performance in the form of a 0-60 time of less than 4 seconds, and a top speed of 186 mph.
All-wheel drive is standard on the GranCabrio, like the other models, ensuring comfort, confidence, and compelling performance. In addition to introducing the new model, the color palette for the range has been expanded, with new shades like Verde Giada. Alongside the new model, Maserati also revealed a new GranCabrio Trofeo ONE of ONE, with a bespoke Ice Liquid tri-coat that echoes the frozen lake on which the car was revealed. Accents in gloss white, a Blue Marine soft top, and carbon fiber accents complete the icy look. Maserati took to the ice at the I.C.E. St. Moritz this year and wrote even more in its new grand touring chapter.
