Maserati will soon make its long-awaited debut with two stunning models at the upcoming FuoriConcorso, a prestigious automotive event in Italy held annually since 2019 that attracts collectors and enthusiasts alike. Coinciding with the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este weekend on May 24-25, the FuoriConcorso will transform the lawns of the historic Villa Del Grumello and Villa Sucota on the banks of Lake Como, into a showcase of some truly exceptional automobiles.
This year’s theme, “Velocissimo – Italian Race Cars,” pays tribute to motorsports legends and Maserati’s latest track-bred creations are a perfect fit. Afterall, the Maserati brothers can trace their lineage to successes in racing, back in the 1920s and ‘30s, taking on rivals like Alfa Romeo and Bugatti. In the decades that followed, Maserati would become a fierce competitor to Ferrari on some of the world’s greatest racing circuits.
Fast forward to today and the GT2 Stradale seen here, features a “Bianco Audace” livery created by Officine Fuoriserie which is Maserati’s personalization program. This is a street-legal version of the GT2 race car and is the most powerful Maserati road car with internal combustion to date. It brought the Trident badge back into the world of closed-wheel competition. Blending track-ready performance with everyday comfort, it offers 640 horsepower from the Nettuno 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Weighing 132 pounds less than a standard MC20, the dash to 62 mph just takes 2.7 seconds, and the top speed is 198 mph.
Alongside the GT2 Stradale, the MCXtrema will also be on display. Finished in a striking “Blu Extrema” livery, this is a track-only car limited to just 62 examples. Powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 power plant, the MCXtrema packs 100 more horsepower, delivering 740 hp. With both models that perfectly embody the Italian marque’s long-standing relationship blending performance and elegance, Maserati’s presentation of the GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema align perfectly with this celebrated event.
