So a logical starting point is their renowned carbon fiber chassis. Reducing weight was a major concern as their upcoming models will have several times more battery capacity as the 2015 McLaren P1 for sale.
It will be capable of hybrid or EV power, and it has a modular layout to fit rear or AWD cars.
