Mercedes-Benz hits the slopes at one of the world’s premier ski destinations.
St. Moritz is famous all over the world for historically being one of the most luxurious ski destinations in all of the Alps. The name has become synonymous with the glamour of skiing, and with the International Concours of Elegance taking place in the famous winter wonderland, St. Moritz is known for even more than just skiing. When made into an acronym, International Concours of Elegance fittingly shortens into I.C.E. and the event was founded after English and Scottish owners of classic Bentleys decided to take them to the frozen Lake St. Moritz with ice over a foot and a half thick. Decades later in 2019, the event was founded, and only was able to return in 2022 after the pandemic, making it a very young, but already very spectacular affair.
The event is centered around an evanescent racetrack made on the surface of the frozen lake, where classic cars are raced and shown off in an experience like no other. With the event taking place February 24th and 25th, Mercedes-Benz has announced that it will be bringing many of its amazing classics to the unique concours. These include the 1958 300 SLS Touring Sports Car, a racing version of the legendary 300 SL, the provocative 1970 C-111 II concept car with its V8 engine, the 1958 300 SL Roadster, and the 1963 600, one of the many cars that contributed greatly to the reputation for luxury that the three-pointed star has earned. As these stunning cars take to the frozen landscape, the opportunity to witness them in action will be a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.
