2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition Revealed Before Official Debut

The third model in the GT-R lineup for 2017 will be the new Nissan GT-R Track Edition. Nissan states in a press release that the new Track Edition was “designed to deliver a higher level of performance than the GT-R Premium,” while using elements of the top-of-the-line GT-R NISMO.

“The new GT-R Track Edition gives buyers a specialized model, one true to GT-R heritage and available only by special order,” said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. “Building on the major upgrade to every GT-R for 2017, the Track Edition is an amazing package inside, outside and under the skin.”

So, what makes a new GT-R Track Edition a Track Edition? For starters, the interior is now in a sporty red and black configuration with standard Recaro front bucket seats. Going deeper, the Track Edition’s body has additional adhesive bonding for increased body shell rigidity. There is also four-wheel independent suspension with NISMO tuning, NISMO-spec tires, NISMO front fenders, 20-inch NISMO wheels and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. It seems like this model is essentially a NISMO-lite.

As GT-R Track Edition’s power, Nissan has kept the turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 engine’s power at 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque, just like the GT-R Premium.

Those interested in the car can expect an MSRP of $127,990 and it will be available later this summer.
