On the same day as National Mustang Day, Ford announced that they will be making the 2018 Shelby GT350 and GT350R, marking another year of production for the models. Along with the announcement of the new model year, Ford also will be bringing three new exterior colors to the outside of the models: Orange Fury, Kona Blue and Lead Foot Gray.

As for the equipment, the car will remain essentially unchanged. This means they will have the same 5.2-liter V8 engine (526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque). Ford has stated that this is the most balanced Mustang ever, as well as the most track-capable, street legal Mustang ever built.
